and direct in all things. Pray
for your will to be done. We just pray as we look into
the Word of God, Lord, that You would open it up to us as a...
Lord, as a book that we've read, a book that we love, but Lord,
as a book that can always teach us more. We pray this in Jesus'
name and for His sake. Amen. Turn to Romans chapter
13. Romans chapter 13. got through the first seven verses
talking about government the last time we looked at it on
Sunday night of last week. And I want to go ahead and go
into a verse that's somewhat controversial in verse eight.
It says, owe no man anything. And I don't know how many people
I've ever heard that said it's a sin if you have any debt. You
know, and it's like, you know, Is it a sin to have debt because
it says, owe no man anything? It has nothing to do with money.
This verse doesn't. Now it does say that the borrower
is servant to the lender. Bad. One of the worst problems
we have in this country is overextending yourself. Bad. But if it's wrong
to have debt, you can't buy a house until you have all your money.
You can't buy a car. What is the crazy thing is all
the credit cards. I mean, the credit cards 24,
26 percent, 25 percent interest. means for every dollar you pay,
only $0.75 goes toward, and they're higher than 25%. I've never had
credit card debt. I use credit cards to get free
miles, and then I pay it off every month. But when you're
looking at it, it has nothing to do with debt, and that's what
I want you to understand. So what are we looking at? Let's do the
context. It doesn't mean debt is good.
In fact, I was debt free after four years of marriage, having
bought a house, paid it off in four years. Then the next month,
we adopted two children. I've never had any money since.
But the Lord worked it out to where we got married. We couldn't
have children. She ended up, she didn't get
pregnant. We lost it. But all of our friends were having
children. And then, you know, for a little
over four years, four and a half years into marriage, we adopted
a almost six-year-old and almost four-year-old. And our two children
were older than all of our friends. It's just a God thing, you know,
so you can get all... Listen, I know it's very difficult
for people that can't have children. Same with us, we wanted children.
But I knew the day that she had the miscarriage, we were in the
hospital and the preacher comes in, oh, I'm so sorry. And I just
looked at him and said, we're going to adopt. I knew that we
had prayed about it, God answered the prayer, she got pregnant,
and something changed. But I knew God was still in control.
And then within, I don't know how long after that, After she
had the miscarriage, I mean, we adopted them pretty quickly.
Homeless, drug addict family, came through the mission where
I was president, and she was supposedly pregnant. Would you
adopt a newborn? We're making a mess of these
two. One day, she's walking out with her husband, and she looks
at me, and she said, you know, this baby might turn out just
like these two. I said, if that baby turns out
just like those two, we would take that baby. And she looked
at her husband and she said, I knew they'd say that. And I
knew what she was asking. They left. Six months later,
they called me and said, hey, would you adopt these two? We
were already through the system, getting all set up for it. And
man, we were able to adopt. Within, I think, two months,
we were able to finish all the paperwork. It's a God thing. Is it terrible not to be able
to have children if you want to have children? Sure is. But all
things work together for good to them that love God, to them
are the call according to His purpose. Now I don't know how I got into
all that other than I did. Maybe somebody needed some encouragement
on whatever you're going through because it isn't the application
of my principle to yours. Or it is the principle. It's
not my application of my story to yours. It's the application
of the principle. Listen, just because you have some of the
worst things happen in your life doesn't mean that God has rejected
you and God doesn't love you and God doesn't care. He certainly
does. Owe no man anything. What do you owe people? The context,
owe no man anything but to love one another. You know what you
owe everybody and I owe everybody is to love them. For God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten son. He sent his son
down here and he gave. Love is giving of self, giving
of whatever. That's what love is. For God
so loved the world that he gave, the definition of love is giving.
That's what it is. Owe no man anything but to love
one another. For he that loveth another hath
fulfilled the law." People want to be under the law. I love you,
I want to be a Jew, and I want to be a Messianic Jew, and I
want to be a... No, you don't. Because you couldn't fulfill
it anyway. It is in the Bible over and over again, and we have
spent a lot of time on that. But, he that loveth another hath
fulfilled the law. Fulfilled the law. Why? Because when you think about
love in its true form, and how vast it is, that's how you fulfill
the law. For this, those two words are
critical, the next two words, for this. Because of verse 8,
for this, Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt
not bear false witness. Thou shalt not covet. And if
there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in
this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbors thyself. So,
here's what I... And again, this is one of those
life-changing verses for me. Because you look at the law.
Don't commit adultery. Don't kill. Don't steal. Don't
bear false witness. Don't covet. Why? So you'd be accepted of
God? You're accepted in the Beloved. This stuff is not about this
relationship. This is about this relationship
with others. Because you love others for this,
do those things in verse 9, or thou shalt not, don't do those
things. That's what it's all about. When
you look at the law, the law wasn't for Israel to get puffed
up and be, you know, we're the greatest, we're the nation, and
they were the nation. But because they didn't handle
it right, they didn't do what God wanted them to do, they're
broken off, we're grafted in as a wild olive branch. Listen,
we are blessed. However, However, the whole point
on the law was to love others. What are the two greatest commandments?
Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and love your neighbors
yourself. Those are the greatest commandments in the Bible. And
because of those things, you have a responsibility to live
right. What's verse 9? Verse 9 is, live
right. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Live right. Thou shalt not kill. Live right.
Thou shalt not steal. Live right. Bear false witness. Live right. That's what verse
9 is. For this, because you love others, that's why you do that.
Listen, I am blessed in spite of myself. And that's what it is. I'm blessed
in spite of myself, so me doing verse 9 isn't about, well, God,
if I do all of your laws and all your rules and obey you perfectly,
then you'll bless me. Well, that's not mercy, that's
not grace, that's not long-suffering. And what happens is, we look
at it and we go, well, God didn't knock me down and kill me. In
fact, I've gotten blessed more lately, and I wasn't doing right.
What's that all about? Because you don't get what you
deserve. Now you'll reap what you sow.
You sow to the flesh, you shall the flesh reap corruption. Flee
fornication, every sin that a man committeth without the body,
but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
When you look at those things, there are consequences to sin,
but those consequences are more natural consequences than they
are God pronounced on you. You know, for this you did, this
you... God, you know, slammed you down.
No. This you did, you opened up the door for Satan to come
in and mess with your mind, mess with your people around you,
you know, and give you circumstances that you don't know how to handle,
and a mindset that's starting to get confused, and then you
start going downhill, and downhill, and downhill, and you wonder
why. It's not God. It's you and the decisions you
made. For this, because you love one another, don't do those things.
And then it goes on in verse 10 and repeats it. Love worketh
no ill to his neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfilling
of the law. You work no ill toward your neighbor. Vengeance might our pay, saith
the Lord. You give place to wrath. You don't rejoice when an enemy
stumbleth. For God sees it, He'll turn His
wrath away from them. God can't judge because of how
we handle it. You look at somebody and they
did you wrong, and then God judges them, and you are overjoyous. God says, well, I can't judge
them because it brings out the worst in you. And I want what's
best for you. What's best for you is that I
don't judge that person that did you wrong because when I
do, you think, oh, well, look how special I am. God got my
enemies. That's why God doesn't judge
like He could. It's because of how we handle
it. So you go on to verse 11. And that knowing the time that
now it is high time to awake out of sleep, for now is our
salvation nearer than we believe." Boy, that was one of those verses
when I was teaching a lot on prophecy that really helped me
a lot. Because I would talk to people
and they'd say, The Jews have to do works to be saved in the
future. The Jews did works to be saved in the past, even though
it contradicts so many scriptures, I couldn't spend a whole night
up here quoting them. Salvation frequently and most of the time
does not deal with the soul's salvation. How can your salvation
be nearer than when you believe that it's your soul's salvation
that's already saved? Context. This one in particular. shows you that salvation and
being saved is simply deliverance. Do you know what your deliverance
is in the future? Deliverance from this body, by
this flesh. Deliverance from this world.
Deliverance from sin, flesh, and the devil, basically. So
that's how our salvation is near. Now what is our salvation that's
coming? It's the rapture of the church.
Catching out of the saints. Is the rapture closer today than
what it was yesterday? That our salvation is nearer
than when we believed. And that's it. That's it. And by the way, you know, are
we going to be saved? We sure are. Why? Well, and here's
where I just, I just get upset with people because they go,
well, you're just got an escapist doctrine. You think that the
church, you know, you know, shouldn't, you know, that, no, I believe
we become worthless in general. We're pretty close to it as a
believing group. When we become worthless, that's
when He takes us out. The rapture is not a reward.
The rapture is a promise. And the promise is, I'm going
to take you out. And what does it say? There shall
come a falling away first. Falling away is the apostasy. And as the apostasy continues
and you look out there and you go, well, where are the Bible
teaching churches? Well, no, you can't build a big
group with Bible teaching. You've got to have programs.
You've got to have a program for the elderly. You've got to
have a program for the children. You've got to have this program,
that program. And listen, there's nothing wrong with figuring out
how to keep a bunch of rambunctious children quiet and happy and
secure and away from their parents so the parents can focus on the
message. Nothing wrong with that. And we appreciate those that
get involved in that. But the program, the tail, can't
wag the dog. I'm not about programs. Now,
I wish I was better at it. I do. But my focus is on teaching
the Bible and ministering to saints. And
by the way, that's what the Bible says I'm supposed to do. If you
look at Acts chapter 6, it's ministering to saints. And it
doesn't stop in these four walls. I do as much ministering outside
these walls as I do in the walls. You remember Dan Tate? He texted
me today. We went back and forth quite
a bit. He says, hey, appreciate your stance on abortion. And
he says, I've been listening to you up here in Pennsylvania.
You remember him? Young military guy? And he says, you got guts. I'm thinking, really, that was
not guts doing that one. I'm in these four walls. And
now, when I was out at the abortion rally, you know, with 250 women,
no, they weren't, yeah. They were 250 feminists. I heard a guy, oh, Justin Trudeau. He said, did you hear him? He
said, I'm a feminist. I'm thinking, you're an idiot.
You know what Trump's done to him? And I don't want to get
too far off. I want to tell about the abortion
thing in a minute. But Trump said, we're going to make Canada
the 51st state. You know what he's done? He's not going to
make it the 51st state. But Trudeau met with him and
he's saying, you know, Trudeau, I'm going to flick you out of
the whole picture. And now the whole thing's crumbling
down. Man, I'm telling you what, that
country had lockdowns worse than California. That man should be
arrested for what he's done. But that's just the way politics
is. And fortunately, we dodge a lot
of it, but I don't know that y'all really, you know. You got
to get up to New York. I was up in New York. I got friends
in New York. I got pastors up in New York. And they shut those
places down, and they destroyed families and businesses and everything
else. Even in Florida for a couple
of weeks there, you couldn't even be on a paddle boat and
not be arrested or surrounded by the Coast Guard or something. How insane is that? And then
you see people driving around with masks on. I just hope that
their dashboard appreciated it. Really, that's as much sense
as it makes. And listen, we need to say these things. Listen,
there's nothing wrong if you wear a mask, you wear a mask.
But don't tell me I have to wear a mask and don't think I'm going
to be confused as to how effective it is. You wear a mask if you're
vulnerable. It may help you against the sickness.
I know we had a mask in here the other day We had a couple
of sick people in here the other day and You know I wasn't that sick Sunday
Wednesday I was sick, but I stayed away from everybody went right
out the door I only gave it to Judy and I gave it to her at
home. I know it didn't happen here and So let's get back to
this. I've got quite a few verses I
want to go over. So when we look at this salvation
thing, look at Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter 8, look at
verse 23. What is this salvation we're
talking about? And not only they, but ourselves
also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves,
grown within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the
redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope, but
hope that is seen is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doth
he yet hope for? But if we hope for that which
we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." What is it? Salvation of the body. You are
two-thirds redeemed. Your soul, your spirit are redeemed,
your body is not. You're waiting for the redemption
of the body. Simple as that. That was a little
high tone in that one. I'm reaching puberty. Philippians
1, look at verse 19. Philippians 1.19, talking about
this salvation. It says, For I know that this
shall turn to my salvation. through your prayer and the supply
of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Again, He's already saved. Look
at verse 28. And in nothing terrified by your
adversaries, which to them their evident token of perdition, but
to you of salvation and that of God. Salvation means deliverance.
The Bible defines it. I'm not going to go through the
passages to show that to you. But look at 1 Thessalonians chapter
5. In verse 6, he says, Therefore let us not
sleep as do others, but let us watch and be sober. Because in that verse we're looking
at in verse 11 of Romans 12, it says it's high time to awake
out of sleep. Do you know where the church
is today? It's asleep. Why is it asleep? It's asleep
because doctrine is diminished. It's like, look, what do you
mean doctrine? Boy, if we preach doctrine, people
won't stay in our church. If I got up here and I told you
that if you don't have Jesus Christ your personal Savior,
and He doesn't live in your heart, you're going to die and you're
going to go to hell. Say it with as loving attitude as I can.
Do you know that in a lot of churches, the pews would clear
out? They'd be calling and saying,
hey, you've got to get rid of him. He's got to go. He's too negative. He's hateful. He's not loving. I have never
ever heard that if you told somebody the truth, and truth and love,
that you hated them. But that's what you get today.
Everything is phobic. I was just trying to think this
one through. Doctrine-phobic. So, doctrinal-phobic. The churches
are doctrine-phobic. They don't teach doctrine. All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God and is profitable for, the first one is doctrine. We
need doctrine. The reason that this church exists
is because we have doctrines that we teach that are important
that align with the Scripture, and that's why we align with
God. We don't align with God if we
don't align with the Bible. And yet most churches... I mean,
I could go through and I could tell you about churches that
teach baptismal regeneration. That you've got to be baptized
to go to heaven. I know the verses they use. I know why they use
them. And I know why they're confused. You've got churches
that say you can't have musical instruments because you make
melody from your heart. One verse. And then all through the Old
Testament you've got musical instruments. and you've got to
make melody from your heart, therefore you can't have a musical
instrument in the church. And that's a church trying to
do doctrine. Their doctrine is no musical instrument. But they
don't understand context, they don't understand what the Bible
teaches. And listen, we're going to stand for truth till the very
end. I've just determined a long time
ago, I don't walk around this earth scared. You can't. You know, I've watched, I've
been around too long. I mean, I, you know, I've, I've,
I work for people and I believe they were doing the wrong thing
and I would, I would go at them. Basically fire me you did not
hire me to be a yes-man You did not hire me to tell you what
you wanted to hear what you're planning to do is wrong It's
the wrong move and I could have been wrong in doing it. But those
things I stood on were pretty obvious to me as a CPA or whatever
the context is that it was the wrong move and I stood my ground
and And I'd say, listen, if you do it, just make sure you annotate
that I was against it. And I stood firm. You didn't. And these are friends. And I'd
say, listen, we're friends. But I'm telling you it's wrong.
That's just the way I am because that's the way I was brought
up. My dad told me it is more important to stand for what's
right than to look and say, hey, what's in it for me? How do I
cover your behind? So we'll just call it CYB. I
was told you don't do that. Now, you do cover it in some
way when you make a decision and you annotate it. I wrote
things down. But I never went, see? They could
look at me and know I was thinking that. But listen, you got to
stand firm. Society is changing at a rate
that is faster than any other time in human history. In four
years, We may not even be able to recognize this world, especially
if the election would have gone the other way. But even the way
that it's gone, you may not be able to recognize it. You got
AI that's coming on. And AI, man, it's a pretty fantastic
thing. But man, when they start building
these, I mean, they're going to build Military. Militaries. Can you imagine militaries fighting
with, you know, robots? Who wins? I killed more of your
robots than you killed of mine. We gassed them. Anyway, let's go back. Look at
the verse again. Look at verse 11. And knowing
the time that now it is high time to awake out of sleep. In Ephesians 5.14 it says, Awake
thou that sleepest. 1 Corinthians 15.34 says, Awake
to righteousness. So you need to wake up. And you need to make sure that
you awake to righteousness. That if you're asleep, like Ephesians
5.14 says, Awake thou that sleepest. Wake up. You know where the world,
the world's asleep. And it's almost like they've
been hypnotized. You know who's coming into office is Hitler,
right? Why? Hitler's coming into office
and, you know, Nobody's saying, hey, the end of the world's coming.
I mean, if we had Hitler coming in office, I guess they would
still be sucking up, like you said. I mean, they would be.
Nobody would stand against him. I always thought, man, one guy
with a rifle with Hitler. One guy with a right, now they
tried to blow him up and, you know, I guess in my history,
von Stauffenberg, you know, it's Stauffer as it's chopped down.
He tried to blow him up. Didn't happen, but, you know,
they did try. But if you've got Hitler going
into office, why in the world are you still not screaming?
You say, well, because they're afraid of him. Good point. And
they ought to be. He just, you know, beat, what,
ABC for 16 million dollars? Just look, just listen. The church
is asleep. Awake to righteousness. The church
is asleep. And the Bible says, Awake those
that sleepest. So if I run into people and they're
asleep, you know what I do? I try to wake them up. Wake them
up to righteousness. Wake them up to truth. Wake them
up to godliness. Wake them up to doctrine, to
the scripture. Wake them up. And again, we just
can't be silent. When Amendment 3, marijuana. Amendment 4, abortion. You know, I cried from the rooftops.
I was at city council. I know Robert was there. I was
the only one that stood against it. And I read the resolution. And guess what? I'd do it tomorrow
again. And you know, the other city
council people didn't understand why I would do that. I did it
because it's the right thing to do. I did it because I'm a
person of principle before I'm a person of comfort. I'm not
going to be comfortable in this world. And if you're comfortable,
there's something wrong. Comfortable. Comfortable with
just looking out there and seeing the way and the direction it's
going and not standing up and saying something every now and
then. Say something. Jesus is alive. Jesus saves. You know, you don't
have to go, well, you know, all this trans, blah, blah, blah.
You don't have to get into all that. Just when somebody talks
to you and says, well, I think men ought to be allowed in women's
bathrooms. You just look at them and say,
well, I got saved. Let me tell you the story about
when I got saved. What? How does that connect? Well,
if he got saved, he may not feel that way. And if he still felt
that way and he's saved, you know, he needs to be under conviction
that you think he's lost and that's why you're witnessing
to him. And if you're saved and somebody witnesses to you, you
should never get offended. You should look at the person
that's doing that and say, hey, thank you. You know, I'm already
saved and I want to tell you that, but thank you for doing
what you're doing. To me, if you get witnessed to
too many times, you might want to look in the mirror. I'm just
saying if you're asleep. So look at Ephesians chapter
5. Look at Ephesians chapter 5. Later on in these verses he's
going to talk about night and all that, but I want to look
at Ephesians 5.11. I already quoted to you verse 14. We may
go ahead and look at that again. But look at Ephesians 5.11. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them. That's what we're
supposed to do. Look at verse 14. Wherefore he
saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and
Christ shall give thee light. He's talking to save people and
he's telling them to arise from the dead. You're already resurrected with
Christ, positionally. But practically, you have to
crucify the flesh. You're already crucified with
Christ, but you've got to crucify the flesh. You've got to rise
from the dead. You're already risen with Christ,
seated together in a heavenly place, but He says to you, arise
from the dead. Because, and listen, this is
a book that is timeless. When he wrote this, it meant
what it meant back then, and it meant for 2,000 years, a little
bit less than that, the same thing today, and is just as applicable. That's why we don't need to update
the language. I had somebody send me a new Bible. He was doing... I don't know why he'd think to
send it to me, but he said, you know, just changes a few of the
words that are archaic. Tell me what you think. And I
just looked and I was like, you know, I said, look, I'm sorry. I'm not the one you need to send
it to. I don't believe it needs updated at all. I said, I just
think we need to get into a dictionary and learn what the words mean
and then realize that those meanings can have several meanings depending
on the context. And you don't need to change
it. So the only reason people would do this historically is
for money. Now, did I just tell him he was doing it for money?
No, I just said historically. But anyway, it's a shame that
he felt compelled to do that. What a waste of time. And there
are people that have gotten a hold of me 20 years ago and said,
well, if they just had these few words... And again, once you change the
word, if God wants to use a word over here that can speak to you
in 25 different ways from God, and you change it to one of these
over here, it limits the application. God gives Scripture by inspiration. All Scripture is given by God. My throat just went dry. All
Scripture is given by inspiration. Present tense. Let's go back
to Romans 12 and look at verse 12. Romans 13.12 The night is far
spent, the day is at hand. Let us therefore
cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of
light. Let us walk honestly as in the day, not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife
and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the
lusts thereof." Galatians 5.16 says, walk in the Spirit and
you won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh. But he tells us this,
he says, listen, the night is far spent. The day is at hand. Cast off the works of darkness.
It is a daily thing you have to do. and let us put on the armor of
light." Now, as I told you in the Chinese language, when you
look at Adam and Eve were clothed and then they were naked, when
they were clothed, they had light shining out them. They have symbols, the Chinese
graphics. And when they were naked, the
light was gone. And if you study the Bible, they
were clothed with light. And what he's telling us, look,
you're not clothed with light except as Jesus Christ shines
through us and out of us. Work out your own salvation.
Let it come out. Let others see it. But he says
right there, he says, and let us put on the armor of light. The armor of light. Let's run
a couple of references on this. Look at Psalm 119. Psalm 119
is the largest psalm and largest, you could say, chapter, but most
verses, all of them about the Word of God. Psalm 119, look
at 129. My testimonies are wonderful,
therefore doth my soul keep them. The entrance of thy words giveth
light. It giveth understanding unto
the simple. So the entrance of God's words
gives light. Why do you think there's such
an attack on the Word of God? Because the devil doesn't want
light. He doesn't want you to have light or me to have light.
And his easiest way to do that is to take this Bible out of
people's hands. In the 1950s, you know, you had
one Bible, King James Bible, in America. You might say we
had the Geneva, but the Geneva really didn't take off over here. The Geneva was, it was a pure
Bible, but the language was back in the 1560s. And then when you
got to 1600, you have Shakespeare and all of that. The language
had really improved greatly. The spelling wasn't even finished
until 17... I lost the date. Yeah, 1611, 1769, I think. That's when the spelling was
solidified in the English language, but up until then, you know,
you had a lot of variations for words. So what you have is you
have the Word of God in the 1950s was the King James Bible. And
then they came out with what was called the New American Standard
Version, or I'm sorry, the Revised Standard Version, 1952 or 57. And it was sent free to all these
preachers. And then that started the ball
rolling. And then when they got to Isaiah 7.14, a virgin shall
conceive, and it said a young woman shall conceive, those preachers
threw that book away in droves. Now why did they throw it away?
Somewhere we're not today. They threw it away because they
knew what the Word of God said. And they threw it away because
they knew that that verse was supposed to say a virgin. Now,
let's say 1960, 2024, you're looking at 60 plus years later.
People aren't moving from the King James to the ESV. They're moving from the NIV to
the ESV. And it's all corrupt to corrupt.
When they moved from the King James, they knew what the Bible
was supposed to say, and they had that understanding. The entrance
of thy words giveth light. The light's gone. People are moving from one version
to another version to the newest version to many versions to write
a book and say, well, I want to make this point here. What's
the best version for me to quote? And they quote 25 different versions
to write a book. What is that? And how is that
the Word of God? How is that being honest? How
is that, how do they do that? I've written, you know, number
24 and 25 are at the printers if I can ever, I told you about
them the other day, if I can ever get, study in Revelation and get that
done. Every verse in there, other than the comparisons for, to
show what's wrong with the modern versions, other than the comparisons,
every verse is King James. I don't go with a thought and
go, here's my thought, let me find a Bible that agrees with
me. I go, this is what the truth
is and now let me write about it. And that's what you're supposed
to do. But that's not what we have today. Look at Ephesians
chapter 6. Remember I talked about the armor
of light there in verse 12 of Romans chapter 13? So we looked
at that. Let's look at Ephesians 6 and
it talks about the armor over there. And it's important to
realize this. Look, armor. Man, I tell you,
if you want to withstand the devil, you better have the armor
of God on. Ephesians 6, verse 10. He's writing all this, and he
says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power
of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may stand
against the wiles of the devil. So let me stay here, and I want
to read to you what we were looking at in Romans 13. I think I keep
saying 12. In Romans 13, he says, So look
at it. Verse 11, put on the whole armor
of God, you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood. And then he talks to you about
that armor in verse 13, "...wherefore take unto you the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your
loins girt." And it talks about your loins, the breastplate,
your feet, the shield, the helmet, the sword. And it talks about
all that through there. But listen, you need that armor. I can't imagine going through
a day without having the armor of God. I want that armor. I want that protection. And He
calls it the armor of light. Because why? Because when we
were created, Adam, Eve, they had a covering of light. And our armor of light is Jesus
Christ. It's the Word of God. And we
need to get it back. Look at 2 Corinthians chapter
6. Talking about this armor, 2 Corinthians
6. Let me just jump into verse 7.
By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of
righteousness on the right hand and on the left. The armor of
righteousness. They have the armor of light,
armor of righteousness. Listen, he ends this chapter
by telling us not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill the
lusts thereof. You know what it is when you make provisions.
So you set a table and you put provisions on it. In our life,
we make provision for the flesh. Bible says, "...there hath no
temptation taken you, but such as is common to man. But God
is faithful, and will not suffer you to be tempted above that
you are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape." If
you don't take that way to escape, you know what you're doing? You're
making provision for the flesh. When you make provision for the
flesh, you neglect that armor, you put off the armor, and then
you're susceptible to the devil, the wiles of the devil. All right. We're going to go into a business
meeting here in a minute, but go ahead and stand up. Just ask you to close
your eyes, bow your head. Lord, we thank You for Your many
blessings. We thank You for sending Your Son to die on that cross. We praise You and give You honor
for everything that You give to us how You bless
us. When we are an undeserving people,
I pray, Lord, that we will live in a way that we are more deserving.
You don't always give us what we deserve, but Lord, help us
to live in such a way that we present our bodies a living sacrifice
to Thee. In Jesus' name, with your head
bowed and eyes closed.
