Good morning, everyone. Today is the 13th of December. Most people don't like to talk. They just ignore it. And it was
a long time. my life that I ever heard the
subject addressed in a from a biblical perspective and So I want to talk about this
morning I want to talk about The origin of evil Most people believe that Lucifer had a free will and that the reason that he was evil was
because he chose evil. And a lot of people say Larry
makes God the author of sin. One time we were talking about
this subject about who authored evil And he said well if God
didn't authorize it who did authorize it, right? God didn't authorize
evil who did authorize evil Well, there's a couple things
to consider I was talking to a primitive Baptist minister
one time and I said, you know, you can't have
non-elect angels if you have elect angels. And he said, that's
ridiculous. I go, well, I don't understand
how that's ridiculous. Help me understand that. You
know, if we look in 1 Timothy 5.21, I charge thee before God and
the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels That thou observe
these things without preferring one another doing nothing by
partiality The term elect angels as you
is is used in first timothy 521 If they're elect angels, then
there's some that aren't elect, right? I Now I have a question for you.
If God had chosen to create Lucifer such that he would not have fallen,
could he have done so? My answer is absolutely he could
have done so. Because he created myriads of
angels that are still in heaven. Third of them were not elect
angels. They fell with Satan a Third of the angels that God
created were not elect angels because they fell with Satan
Gabriel was an elect angel Michael is an elect angel and many other
angels Two-thirds of the angels in heaven are elect. They're
never gonna fall but back to our scripture regarding Satan
it says that In John 8 44, you have your father
devil and the lust your father you will do. He, speaking of
Satan, was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the
truth. Satan was a murderer from the
very beginning of his creation because there's no truth in him.
When he speaketh a lie he speaketh of his own Who are his own all
the non-elect angels all the principalities? For he is a liar and the father
of it this was from the beginning of his of his origin a Lot of
people say well evil didn't happen until the fall that is not true Evil happened when Lucifer and the non-elect
angels were created. Now the other question we have
to ask ourselves is why would God create these monsters? Why would God create these monsters? The same reason God creates monsters
on the earth called reprobates. You know? We can go back and see why God
created monsters. Okay, if you want to call them
that. If we look in the 9th chapter of Romans, which a lot
of people don't like, the moment you start bringing up the 9th
chapter of Romans, They get all upset, don't they? But what does he say in the ninth
chapter of Romans regarding Pharaoh? Why did he create Pharaoh? Why
was Pharaoh created? The same reason that Satan was
created. The same reason all the non-elect
angels were created. Very same reason. We'll just read this you want
to look at Romans 9 He says in verse 17 for the scripture saith
unto Pharaoh Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up
That I might show my power in thee and that my name might be
declared throughout all the earth That's why he created Pharaoh.
That's why he created Satan and That is that his name Christ's
name would be declared throughout all the earth Because he's victorious
over Satan and his principalities What does 21 say half not the
Potter I power over the clay of the same lump to make one
vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor. That's what happened
in the creation of angels. He made one vessel unto honor
and another unto dishonor. Now he made two thirds unto honor
and he made a third unto dishonor. You say well that applies to
humans that doesn't apply to angels. Well. No it does because
back to our scripture on elect angels You cannot have elect angels
and have non elect angels and not have non elect angels. It's
an impossibility There's a distinction between angels some are elect
and some not elect Now people don't like this teaching,
but it's just, it's very logical and it's biblical and it's a
rational expression for God's purpose in creating elect angels,
non-elect angels, elect people and reprobates. He created someone
to honor and someone to dishonor. And, you know, God used Satan in a lot of different
instances. Remember when he said to Satan,
have you considered my servant Job? Remember that? Satan. another word for Satan and his
kingdom if we if we go back to if we look at the origin of evil
you know look at the origin of evil it was founded you know
Satan was he said I will rise and be as God Even though God created Satan,
Satan wanted to come against God and his kingdom, didn't he? I will do this, I will do that,
I will do the other thing. Everybody thinks that they got
a free will. You know, I was talking to a person the other
night, and this subject came up, and he immediately said,
we'll just have to disagree. We'll have to agree to disagree
on that subject. He said, Scripture is full of
instances that man has a free will, but he wouldn't give me
any instances. He wouldn't give me any Scripture
to back it up. I gave him a lot of Scripture
to back up, The God the man does not have a free will It is not
of him that willeth nor of him that runneth, but God that showeth
mercy You know For whom he did foreknow
he also did predestinate to be predestined he called whom he
called he also justified What shall we say to these things
if God before us who can be against us who can lay anything? to the
charge of God's elect so He didn't want to talk about
it. He says all and I said have you
considered Romans 9 John 17 John 10 John 6 He didn't want to talk
about it. He didn't want to talk about
the scriptures didn't want to talk about it The origin of faith is something
that's as important as the origin of evil We didn't concoct our own faith.
If we have faith, it was given to us by God himself. We didn't
just one day decide, well, I'm gonna have faith to believe in
Jesus as Lord. No, God's the one that gave us
the faith to believe in. Now, if we go back to Colossians
1, It says, for by him were all things created that are in heaven,
that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones
or dominions, that would include Satan's dominion, or principalities
or powers, all things were created by him and for him. Satan was
created by God and for God. It says he
is before all things and by him all things consist There's your
answer to the origin of evil right there There's people that have written
whole books about God cannot be the author of sin and on and
on and on The origin of evil began with Satan and all the
non-elect angels and You know, that's where it began. And you can find that when the
serpent was placed in the Garden of Eden, it says he was more
subtle than any beast that was placed in the garden. And who
placed him there? Did Satan just decide that he
was going to go down to the Garden of Eden and harass Adam and Eve?
No, God placed him in the Garden of Eden. Well, that's what I wanted to
point out this morning. May the good Lord be with you. And if
you want to take the study, do a word study on Satan and the
devil. You'll get your boat loaded.
God bless.
