The Den Experience

As believers in Christ, we are citizens of two kingdoms. We are citizens of the country in which we live, plus citizens of heaven. But what happens when these two kingdoms collide? What happens when our earthly government oversteps their boundaries and demands that we do something contrary to God's Word. Who do we obey- God or man? In the beloved story of Daniel in the Lions' Den, Daniel faced that decision. His critics manipulated Darius the king to sign an edict forbidding prayer. But Daniel was in the habit of praying three times a day, and continue to do so once the edict was passed. He earned a night in the Lions den. But God delivered him when man could not. This is a great reminder that we need to be willing to obey God no matter what the consequences might be. When the two kingdoms collide, God's kingdom wins!
