Advent for the Anxious

Advent is a time when we look forard to Christ's second coming. For some this is a matter of anxiety, not because they are not believers, but because of baseless anxiety created by false teaching, or by temperament. Zephaniah gives us the keynote of joy, exhorting God's people to rejoice because of Christ's victory over sin. He encourages us not to fear or be discouraged, but to look to Christ in the midst of his church, and to remember the joy of the Lord. So we are called to joyful expectation - for Christ is coming.
