You may not be an athlete physically, but every true Christian can and ought to be an athlete spiritually. If you are a Christian, then you are an "athlete of God" -- because you are in a race. And in this passage, Paul describes how you are to serve and run in this Christian race -- with discernment, determination, desire and discipline! "So Run! -- That ye may obtain!"
