All right. Well, you got your Bibles Luke chapter 9 we're gonna look at verse number 7 to verse number 9. This is more of a launching pad into This Sunday morning series of Messages and right now we're unless the Lord, you know, the Lord blaze up my heart something I need to preach that doesn't fall in the series and then we'll put a pause on it, we'll preach that, we'll come back to it. But for now, we got a Sunday morning, a Sunday night and a Wednesday evening, different series of things that we'll be talking about. The interesting thing is, though, when first started looking at all those, not knowing which, I've only got about eight or nine more different series that are waiting in the list, all right? But as a whole, I don't know which one's the timeframe for when until it the Lord just says now and But the interesting thing is a lot of the things we're talking about from this morning to the night and even into Wednesday and of course with our focus on the entire year of making much of Jesus and It's interesting how the Lord tends to just kind of mash the truths all together. You say, how in the world does that work? Well, it's pretty easy. The fact that it all comes from the same source tends to make it blend rather well and back each other up. in all the things we focus on. But as we begin on Sunday mornings now, we're gonna be looking at, in order to make much of Jesus, what my desire is, is that I can share on Sunday mornings something from the word of God that presents to us who is this Jesus, because then it gives us ammunition. In this battle, in this life that we're living, We can go old-school when it comes to the the weapons of our warfare Yes, and and they're not carnal and I know we have the the the sword of the Lord. We have the Word of God and And it's sharper than any two-edged sword, but at the same time if you go into modern warfare We you talk about guns and bullets. Well the the goal is to make much of Jesus and you personally are If you want to put it this way, you personally are the one who can fire off the bullets. And all I want to do is I want to give you the ammunition. And so we want to send out and proclaim out who Christ is and what He means to us. And though what we're going to look at from the Word of God over the next several Sundays, with probably some breaks in between here or there, what we're going to be looking at is nothing new to the child of God. It's more of a reminder of those things that we already know, but maybe have dulled a little bit. How many of y'all in here have fired a gun? Alright, watch out world. We're in trouble. Alright, but have you ever fired and and you you didn't get the bang? You just got a click Now that's the most unnerving sound because I'm waiting for the one when I hear click and And then you're very carefully trying to figure, okay, how am I gonna move, remove, look at, try to, I'm waiting for the one that goes click, and after a few minutes, bang! You know, that can happen. But sometimes when you fire off and the ammunition, you think it's gonna fire out that rifle or fire out the gun, and it just goes click, sometimes the ammunition has just gotten old. Sometimes the propellant, the one that pushes, has just kind of dwindled. And may I say, that's somewhat what happens within our Christian life. We have the ammo, we know what it is, we know its potential and power, but it's just kind of gotten old to us. And so people, the opportunity to talk about Jesus and to talk about how wonderful a savior he is, the opportunities present themselves. And for us, it's more like a click. It doesn't fire off. It's like, hey, yeah, let me join in. Let me tell you what I know. Let me tell you what he's done for me. Let me tell you who he is to me. We don't seem to get as excited about speaking about Christ. We know it, we've heard it, we're fully aware of these things, but they've just gotten a little old. And may I say, if you're a child of God and you know that you have received Christ as your Savior, if your salvation has gotten old, if my salvation has gotten old to us, the proclaiming of the one who saved us will also get old. And it is important that I give you this and then we're going to read and move on, but it is important to remember how easy it is for us to get too used to what we've received. The story goes, and it probably happened in just about every church in one way or another, The story goes about a young man that had gotten saved, and he had gotten out after graduating, and he got into life, and he started living that young adult life, and boy, he just started living it up and started making whatever decisions he wanted to, began to get into some things that were kind of rough, and some things didn't go well, and after a while, he began to wonder and look and say, well, there's gotta be something more than this. This life is just not doing it for me anymore. I thought I had the tiger by the tail, but I remind you, it's not the tail you gotta worry about, it's the other end. The other end has the teeth. And when life gets a hold of you, if you're not careful, you realize, like that young man, it's not everything I thought it was. And he realized there's gotta be something more to life than this. So he found himself walking into a church and found himself, for whatever reason or however, he ended up there, he got to hear the gospel and through that, he got saved. And after that salvation, something that was missing in his life all of a sudden became alive in him, and it just excited him, and he was fired up. And I mean, every single service, he's up at the front row, and he began to see that certain men would, you know, different people would say amen, and next thing you know, he got involved. What is this amen stuff? It's agreeing with and saying, So be it, it's, I agree, that's right. He's like, oh, I like that. Next thing you know, he's amening all the time throughout the services. I mean, he's getting excited. Every time they say we need volunteers, he's a first hand up. I wanna help, I wanna do, I wanna go. Where can I be involved? And he's excited, excited, excited. And then one day he went to walk out and one of the old saintly individuals that had been saved for many years looked at him and said, son, don't worry, you'll get over it. The pastor heard that and he said, well, I certainly hope not. That's the problem. We've gotten over it. And it doesn't mean as much to us anymore that we have been saved from wrath through him. And so, as we begin to look at these things, the whole point is to reignite a little bit of, maybe give you some fresh gunpowder to send that bullet of, who is Jesus? Let me tell you. What's the big deal? Let me share it with you. And so we're gonna look at several things here, but let me show you where we get our basis from. You have a man by the name of Herod, and Herod, who had already killed John the Baptist, he'd already take care of that problem, because John the Baptist was not saying things that were very nice towards Herod. And everything John the Baptist was preaching made Herod feel convicted. And so he said, I'm going to take care of this guy. And so John the Baptist is beheaded. He had already taken care of all that. And yet there's another one that has now come up and another one that is making a big splash. in the realm in which Herod was over, and he had heard a lot about him, and a lot of good things, and a lot of spectacular things. And the last person he remembers of having that kind of a testimony, and people just always talking about this person, how unique he is, and what he's doing, and what he says, was John the Baptist. And he's like, I already took care of him. And so in Luke chapter nine, verse number seven through verse number nine, we see Herod, and basically a statement he makes is the basis of who is this Jesus that we're gonna be preaching about. And so in verse number seven, in chapter nine of Luke, it says, now Herod the Tetrarch, heard of all that was done by him, him being Jesus, and he was perplexed because that it was said of some that John is risen from the dead. And he's like, really? How did that work? So some are saying it's John the Baptist risen from the dead. And then verse number eight, and some that Elias had, one of the Old Testament prophets had appeared and Jesus was some kind of reincarnated Old Testament prophet. Again, when people try to explain the spectacular, when people try to explain God's work of the impossible, people come up with all sorts of answers. not necessarily biblical ones, just a whole bunch of answers. So some say it was John the Baptist risen, some say it's Elias come back, or that one of the old prophets was risen again. And verse number nine, and Herod said, John, have I beheaded? But who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him. By the way, If people have no desire to see and know the one we claim to serve, something's wrong. There should be a desire within individuals to say, tell me more of this one that makes such a big deal in your life. I mean, you highlight him constantly. You talk about him constantly. You focus on serving him constantly. What's the big deal? That's when you get a chance to say, well, let me make much of my Jesus. So Herod said, who is this Jesus? Who is this individual? We're gonna look and see what Christ himself said about who he was. And so let's pray and then we're gonna move over to another book of the Bible and move on this morning. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to open your word. I pray that you would help us as we look into your book that you gave us, your words, your direction of who Christ is. And I pray that you would, Lord, help us to reignite within us a fire to share the one who has done so much for us and to share that knowledge with others. And we'll trust you to do in our hearts and in our lives what we cannot do of ourselves. And we'll give you the honor and glory in Christ's name. Amen. If you would, turn with me over to John. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. So it's pretty close. John chapter six. And we're gonna look at the first of who is this Jesus. Again, nothing brand new. Oh, look at this new stuff I'm showing you. There's nothing new under the sun. Just those things which need to be repeated. and those things which we need to be reminded of. John chapter six and verse number 28 through verse number 35, we're gonna find the first thing that Christ himself declares about himself, and that is Jesus is the bread of life. He is the bread of life. And here in John chapter six and verse number 28, Down to verse number 35, the Bible says, then said they unto him, what shall we do that we might work the works of God? And Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. They said therefore unto him, what sign showest thou then that we may see and believe thee? What dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert. As it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat. By the way, just a reminder, Old Testament things constantly point to Jesus. Most don't even comprehend or realize that even the manna, the bread, the particles that were given for the sustaining of life for the children of Israel to have something to eat, even the manna given was a picture of one day, the fact that God would send his son for all mankind and he would be the bread of life. Now what the Jews here that are struggling with accepting who Jesus is, what they do without knowing is they actually present the very foundation of the proof that God has done the miraculous and that even the Old Testament manna proves who Jesus is. So they say our fathers, verse 31, our fathers did eat manna in the desert. As it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat. So Jesus picks up and says, let me explain what that means today. Then Jesus, verse number 32, Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Again, he's pointing to the manna and saying that's not the focus. The focus, that was physical bread. That was a physical miracle for their physical needs in that moment. But the Father who sent manna for the children of Israel is the same God who has now sent you the true bread. The bread of life that you need, not for this life, but for eternal life. And he's about to make them really mad. And so he goes, verse number 33, for the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, Lord evermore, give us this bread. They want it. Oh yes, give us this bread. They're looking for their Messiah. They're looking for the promised one. They just don't want to accept that it's him. They said, Lord, ever give us this bread. Verse number 35, and Jesus said unto them, they walked right on into this, all right? They just stepped right into the path of being blown away with truth. I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Now, by the way, that right there is also a foundational aspect of the understanding of eternal, never-ending, not removed salvation. It is not a salvation that you can lose or a salvation that you can walk away from and say, I no longer want. It's not a salvation that Satan can take from you. It's not a salvation that failing to be perfect can cause you to be removed from as well. No, it's a salvation. And again, just because people use it in the wrong way doesn't mean I won't use it, period. Once saved, always saved. It is the security of the believer and Christ himself presents that. How is it that Christ presents that? Because he's not talking about never hungering and never thirsting in this life physically. He's talking about the hunger and the thirst for something that's missing inside of a lost individual, without God, without forgiveness. And he's saying, he that cometh to me, shall never hunger and never thirst." In other words, you take of the bread of life. Who is the bread of life? I am that bread and the one who comes to me. In other words, the one who receives what I have to offer through who I am. The forgiveness of God through salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross. The one who died was buried and rose again. The gospel, the one who receives the bread of life shall never hunger and never thirst." Well, here's the thing. If I can receive the bread of life and then later on lose it, it means I have to go back to being hungry. So that alone says there is no, you can receive salvation and then you can lose salvation. That would make Jesus a liar. That was free. So as a whole, he said, I am the bread of life. People were following Jesus for what he had to offer them physically, but he wanted them to see what he had to offer spiritually, eternally. It has less to do with him. And again, many times, even the woman at the well was interested in what he had to offer when he said, you would never thirst again. She's like, oh man, give me that water. That'd be so nice not to have to come back to this well again. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's not what we're talking about. There is a thirst within you that you have not even recognized what it is yet, but it exists. You know it exists, but you haven't quite reconciled with the understanding of what is causing that thirst. The thirst you have is not just a physical thirst. The thirst that a lost person has, though they realize it or not as to what it is, it is a lacking, It is a missing part. It is a separation of the creation from their creator. A God-sized hole in a person's life that no amount of stuff or money can fill that hole, though men try over and over and over again. And so even the woman at the well said, man, I want that. These people right here, they're saying, man, give us this bread. And Jesus said, well, you understand, I am he. Just as God sent the manna down for the physical need, the Heavenly Father has sent the bread of life in the form of His Son so that man could live knowing that eternally the hunger for the satisfaction of forgiveness and the thirst for the need of walking and knowing I am secure in Christ. It is settled in me. The one who stands before you, Jesus said, I am the bread of eternal life. Now, later on, In verse number 41, it says, the Jews then murmured at him because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. They didn't like that answer. They did not like that he claimed to be the very one they'd been waiting for. And I can give you this, and I'm gonna give you the points very quickly, just three of them. This is the basis of it all, but here's the thing. Can I give it to you, do the best I can, kind of like you'd get in the old-fashioned wind-sucking preachers, you ready? See if I can do it. Here's the way you would hear it, and it's very true. It's like, he ain't no moldy bread. He ain't no rock hard bread. He is the bread of life. Now, when you get down to it, I can't do that stuff very well. But what I can tell you is, what I can tell you is, he's not a stale bread. He's not a moldy bread. He is not a bread that's been sitting around and it's no good but maybe to use to knock a nail, and you ever done that before, really hard bread. He's not a bread that is useless. He's the bread of life. And he's the bread, by the way, he's as fresh of eternal life today as he was for the moment he died on the cross. The word of God, the promise of God of forgiveness is as fresh for the one in need of salvation today as it always was. And may I say, the bread of life, as to who is this Jesus being the bread of life, to share that should be as fresh today for you and I as it was the moment we received who he is and the moment we said, wow, What happened to the wow? Now we get to the point of, he's the bread of life, he's the water, he's the this, he's the that, we know all this. What happened to the wow factor? What happened to the freshness? He is the bread of life. By the way, without him, there would be no life. This physical body can't live without food. Neither can the soul of man live without the bread of life. So with that, go with me over very quickly to John 21. In John 21, Jesus himself speaking to his disciples, they were seeking to provide for themselves. And I'm just gonna show you some more evidence and proof of what Jesus claimed to be as the bread of life and what it means to us and how that should be shared with others. But as the disciples, before they became disciples and apostles walking with the Lord, in John 21, In verse number nine, the Bible says, And as soon as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon and bred. And Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. And Simon Peter went up and drew the net, to land full of great fishes, and hundred, and fifty, and three. And for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. And Jesus said unto them, Come and dine. He had already prepared what was needed. He didn't need what they had. He helped them gain what they were looking for in the fact that they were trying to provide for their families, but in the end, he wanted to teach them as a whole, it's not your abilities that's gonna get you where you need to go. It's you trusting in me. It's you following me. I've already got everything you need. All you gotta worry about is come and dine. Come and dine. We have a song in our songbook called Come and Dine. It says, and none of the disciples durst ask him, who art thou? Knowing that it was the Lord. They didn't have to say, who are you? They knew who this Jesus was. And he told them, if you will just come and dine, I've got all you need for this life, and I'm everything you need for eternity. He gave them the invitation to come and dine. And may I say, He also gives us the invitations. I'm gonna give you three things that the Lord gives us an invitation of. As the bread of life, Jesus Christ gives us an invitation to come and dine in these three areas. Get ready because this can be very exciting if you let it be. Be very encouraging, very uplifting. It can load your wagon if you'll let it. Here it is. Jesus says, come and dine, feast on his grace. In John chapter six, I'm going back and forth. So if y'all wanna turn there, you can. I'm gonna read fast. I'm not even gonna give you a chance to get there, all right? John six, verse number 47 says, verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven that a man may eat thereof and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." This is prior to him dying on a cross. He's declaring, I'm gonna give my life for the life of mankind. Now, the offering of forgiveness is made at the death of Christ, but the receiving of forgiveness is required according to our ability or our desire to repent and accept. Somebody says, well, Christ died for the whole world, means the whole world is forgiven. No, the whole world has been given the opportunity. Forgiveness has been paid for, but it's on layaway. It's still waiting, it's been paid, but until somebody comes and picks it up, it's just sitting there. It's completely paid for. But yet the individual has to come and say, I accept. I receive. That is, by the way, the one single act left to man. It's called repentance. Because until a man repents, he'll never accept what God has already provided for him. Why do I wanna get what he's already provided? I can do it for myself. That is a lack of repentance. When an individual says, I know who I am, I know who he is, I know what I must do, and I repent of my way, and I choose Christ, that repentance is the moment of receiving the gift that has been paid for but yet to be taken hold of. But he said, feast on the grace of God. Christ invites you and I, he invites all to come and dine on the grace offered through his own body for salvation. And Lord willing, you're here this morning, and you've already taken care of that. And you know in whom you have believed. And I pray that is the case, by the way. And if it is, don't let it get old. Luke 22, 19 gives us a description of the timeframe when he was breaking the bread and doing the Passover with his disciples. And it said, and he took bread and gave thanks and broke it and gave unto them saying, this is my body, which is given for you, this do in remembrance of me. Once again, signifying that he is about to give his body to be broken, to be slain, to suffer the punishment that we all deserve. Just as every human being needs the physical sustenance to survive this life, everyone also needs that spiritual sustenance to enjoy eternal life in heaven. Without the body of Christ being broken, being given, being slain as a lamb, perfect and pure, slain to be the propitiation for our sins, without Christ being the bread, we'd have no hope. spiritually starving to death. And may I say, folks, not only did he give and invite you to come and dine upon the grace, it is by grace that we are saved, not of works, lest any man should boast. It is according to the grace of God that he provided the bread of life for us, and may I say, it is the grace of God that brought you to a point of realizing who you are, and it's the grace of God that brought you to a point of accepting who Christ was, and it is the grace of God that brought you to a point of breaking down and saying, I need Him, and it is still the grace of God that is gonna help you and I through every single moment in life, because here's the problem we have, oftentimes, and I'm not trying to get all worked up just to get worked up. It's just honest. Here's the biggest problem we have, and I will say I'm the chiefest of everybody. Many times, we forget the grace that saved us, and we start looking around at the issues we have, and we forget that the grace of God that saves is the same grace of God that can sustain us through life. we'd be nowhere without his grace. I understand he's also mercy and that we need his mercy, but I'm thankful for the grace of God that provides that which I still do not deserve. But he still loves, as he told Paul, my grace is sufficient. It'll always be enough. But then also not only the grace of God, he invites us to come and dine and feast on the goodness. of God. There are so many passages. I've got to share them with you, all right? So you just got to hold on. Luke 11, verse number 9, the Bible says down to verse number 13, it says, and I say unto you, Jesus speaking again, asking it shall be given you seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil," now again, you say, well, all men are evil? Well, as a whole, we're sinful, yeah. But put mankind in light of a holy God, and the only way you can describe man is evil. There's nothing else you can really do. But if we, being selfish and stingy and self-desiring, I mean, you think about all the things that we can describe ourselves as, and if we, in light of God, are that way, and we would still care for our children, that's what he's saying. Look at verse number 13. If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? The goodness of God. He hasn't left you alone. He didn't save you and say, well, hey, good luck. I know it's gonna be rough, but hey, you can do it. I'll be waiting on the other side for you. No. I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. The goodness of God, feasting, dining on his goodness. By the way, sometimes we just gotta remember that God is always good and God is always right. No matter what it is that's going on, he will always be right and he will always do good. It may not feel good, but he is working all things for good if we'll just trust his goodness. You could go over and you go to Philippians 4.19, where Paul told them, but my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Christ invites you to come and dine on his goodness. Moses understood the goodness of God. I'm not gonna take you there, but you could write the passage down. Numbers 10, verse number 29 through verse number 32, Moses is talking to a particular individual who is gonna depart from the presence of the children of Israel, and Moses declares to them and tells them, now listen, don't go anywhere. God has promised his goodness to his people, and if you will go with us, and you will stay with us, and you'll follow God as we follow God, The same goodness that he has promised to his people and he will do to his people is the same goodness he will give you as well. Moses understood the goodness of the Lord. David understood the goodness of God and instructed all men to taste and see. Psalm 34, eight, oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Hey, come and dine. Most people just, they get so sidetracked. And by the way, there's enough issues going on even around here. It's real easy to get distracted. We can share more later. I will be sharing more later with the church, but we've got insurance problems right now. I would call a 12% hike three years ago and a 26% hike last year and a 33%, notice we just got. We are now over 60% increase from three years ago. And they're dropping our bus. with no explanation. You better believe I'm not happy. What do we do, God? Oh, and to add to it, we got a water leak. But if you can find it, I can find it. And since I can't find it, you can't find it. There's no evidence as for the butch. It's been going on since October. Even, even Hartzell Utilities, they looked at it and said, wow. But there's no, we can go out and see the meter running, but there's no water anywhere. You know what that means? It could be underneath the concrete somewhere. Why Lord? Listen, everything, and there are people throughout our congregation that are hurting right now and struggling right now, and you look at life, and sometimes, anybody wanna disagree with me? Sometimes life just is not fair. Have you ever gotten so distracted by the unfairness of life in our mentality that we forget the goodness of God in the land of the living? I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. That should be our theme verse for the rest of life. Because it ain't gonna get any better, folks. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's just like, it's what I do. Life's not gonna get any easier. We're heading to a much worse scenario. I'm just looking forward to the day he comes back and we're out of here before it gets really bad. David said, taste and see the Lord is good. Paul understood the power of God's goodness in our lives. In Romans 2, 24, he said, O despisest thou the riches of the goodness of the forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Man, it is even after salvation, it is the goodness of the Lord that brings conviction in my life that he doesn't just let me drift. He won't just let you drift. He will bring conviction, not because He wants you to feel bad, not because He wants to ruin your day, not because He wants to keep you from having sleep. He'll do whatever it takes so that He draws you back to Himself. That's the goodness of the Lord. I mean, we would look at a family today, and if a father, when he has children, basically just looked and said, I don't care what they do. Matter of fact, I'd be happy to just get out of here. Get out of my hair. I don't wanna deal with, I joke with my girls about that, but it's a joke, okay? But as a whole, get out of my hair. I don't care. Well, if a dad did that, we say he doesn't care. He doesn't love. How cold-hearted. But when one is willing to correct and to guide and say, no, you can't walk across the street in the middle of high traffic. No, you can't play out there. No, you can't go with them. No, you can't do that. Why? You just don't want me to have any fun. No, I want to keep you safe. A loving father corrects. A loving father does what's necessary. Why? Because as a heavenly father, it is the goodness of the Lord that leads us to repentance. He is constantly working in my heart and in your heart. Even after salvation, he is working to draw us closer, draw us closer, draw us closer. Why? Because he's good. The child of God needs to taste and see. Sometimes we just need to get a retaste of those things which maybe we haven't tasted of in a long time. Have you been leaning on the Lord for provision? Have you really opened up and instead of trying to figure it out yourself, just said, Lord, what would you have? I'll be honest with you, some of the stuff we've got right now, I'm just the white flag. I don't even know what to do. I don't even know where to look, Lord, help. By the way, it's in those times you take a step of faith and you let your faith just kind of hang on the edge. And God says, let me show you what I can do with faith. And the last thing is feasting on his guidance. I'm done. But in John 14, verse number 16, Jesus said, and I will pray the Father and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever. Feasting on the guidance of God is understanding the greatness of the promise of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is not some thing you have to seek for and you have to do some special things to gain and have and possess. No, the Holy Spirit is promised to the child of God upon the moment of salvation, that though Jesus is not here with us, we have the Holy Spirit of God that is sent as the comforter, the one to dwell with us. And then with that comfort and with that dwelling comes also John chapter 16, we'll read this very quickly to you, but John chapter 16. and the fact that Jesus himself is the bread of life, but then we are given, through the guidance and the goodness of God, we are given the Holy Spirit to continue the work that is done because of what Christ is in us, and now the Holy Spirit continues to work, and through that work, he is a comforter to us, he is a help that abides with us, but he has a main purpose. In John chapter 16 and verse number 13, it says, how be it when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and he will show you things to come he shall glorify me for he shall receive of mine and shall show it unto you all things that the father hath are mine therefore said i that he shall thou take of mine and shall show it unto you. What is the job of the Holy Spirit? It is the third person in the Trinity of God. And what is the job of the Holy Spirit for the child of God? It is to take those things which are true and those things which are of the Father. And through what Christ has done as the bread of life, it is to instill guidance and direction and teaching to the child of God that we might grow thereby. growing in grace, growing under His guidance. Christ invites you and I to come and dine on the guidance offered by the Holy Spirit. Christ answers, by the way, the Holy Spirit coming is the answer to the prayer that Christ prayed for us. He would pray, God would send a comforter. One to dwell with us, though we do not see Christ himself any longer, we have one that dwells in as a child of God. The bread of life that brings sustaining of life. And we see it through the grace of God, through the goodness of God, and through the guidance of God. He says, come and dine. It's a buffet. All you can eat. and you're not gonna be given a thing saying you've been cut off. It truly is, and all you can enjoy of who God is, who Christ is for us. He has through all of this as well, we know, given us the guidance of his word. But here's the key to the guidance that we have by Jesus Christ, In the Holy Spirit of God working through us, each individual must choose to be guided. Each one must choose to be guided. Will you come and dine? Men, women, children, doesn't matter what age, the question is, are you hungry to feast on the bread of life? If you've already feasted, if you've already taken of the bread of life for eternal life, and you know Christ as your Savior, wonderful. You can continue though to feast upon what Christ has provided in himself. Through the grace of God, through the goodness of God, and through the guidance that is offered, you can continue to feast as a child of God on that which is fresh, day by day, over and over. It never gets old. You can go to the Word of God and be guided and be fed and be nourished. And when life gets hard, you can go for strengthening. And when life gets difficult, you can go for the encouragement. When life lets you down, when people let you down, there's always one who never will. And you can feast upon the one who said, I am the bread of life. If you're hungry, come to me. If you're thirsty, come to me. I've got all you need. May I say the bread of life awaits you. And it also, Christ awaits others that are yet to hear of him. Who is this Jesus? He's the bread of life. He gave me eternal life and he provides for me all that I need in every day I face in this life. Nothing better that we can do with it than to teach others. Who is this Jesus? What does he have to offer? Life! Let me tell you who he is. Let me make much of my Jesus. Heavenly Father, give me thanks.
