Prove to Yourself that You Should and Would Partake (Self Examination Before Supper)

Topical sermon based on the Westminster Larger Catechism question and answer 171, "How are they that receive the sacrament of the Lord's supper to prepare themselves before they come unto it?"

Paul is concerned that our bad Table manners at the Lord's Supper will cause us to be cursed; so that we instead receive Christ's intended blessing with proper behavior, Paul commands our holy preparation.

Prove to yourself that you are in Christ and love His Heavenly Father. Prove to yourself that you love your brethren. Prove to yourself that you hate your sins and want more holiness. Prove all these things to yourself by examining yourself. Prove to Yourself that You Should and Would Partake.
