Five headings are used to guide the treatment of the passage. 1. Parallel(:12a, "Therefore Jesus also") 2. Place (:12c "suffered outside the gate") 3. Purpose (:12b, "that He might sanctify the people through His own blood) 4. Plea (:13, "Hence ley us go out to Him outside the camp bearing His reproach") 5. Pilgrimage (:14, "For here we do not have a lasting city, we are seeking the city which is to come.")
