Genesis 5 - More Than Just a Genealogy

Though people often consider biblical genealogies to be boring, this genealogy in Genesis 5 contains plenty of useful information that we often ignore to our shame.

People really did live hundreds of years back before the Flood. And the numbers of years listed in this "chrono-genealogy" actually takes on incredible significance, because it shows that even if there happened to have been gaps in the list of names, there was no gap in the timeline itself.

God's Word is always to be trusted, and His promises will always come to pass, even if they don't turn out the way we thought they would or as quickly as we hoped they might.
