16 A Right to Christ?

- Why did they expect to get an audience with Jesus? There is a parallel question we need to ask here, too. Why does anyone expect to get an audience with Jesus? On what grounds do we think that we have a right to have access to God?
- Why did Jesus reject them? Why did Jesus deny them access to Him? Why didn't He see them? He was engaged in a work of such great importance that His family would have taken Him away from it.
- What was Jesus promising to His disciples? Even while Jesus is denying His blood family, He was declaring that His disciples were his true/eternal family.
- How does Jesus identify who is His brother or sister? "Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother."
