Ancient Near Eastern History

This course is a study of Ancient Near Eastern writings of all genres and its illuminating potential for biblical interpretation. The student will become familiar with a broad range of materials, myths, lawcodes, royal inscriptions, hymns, and wisdom writings. The student will learn to appreciate the literary context of the Bible and understand its implications for interpreting biblical materials.
