Intertestamental History & Writings (1st lecture)

This course is a survey of Jewish history between the Testaments up to and including 70 A.D. and a study of the pseudepigraphal and other writings from this period with a special emphasis on the Dead Sea Scrolls. The student will gain knowledge and appreciation for this period as important to the background of the New Testament and illuminating to its content, as well as the emergence of Judaism.
