The Unpardonable Sin

All unrepented sins go unpardoned. But Jesus warns that one in particular, called "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit," is of such a heinous character that it is "unpardonable." Anyone who commits it has no hope of redemption. What is it? How do we know if we've done it? And how should we relate to those who have?
