What Is a Human?

Two of the biggest questions we ask ourselves are, Who am I and What am I here for? Sometimes we ask those questions in moments of crisis.

Who am I? We might feel like an unsolvable mystery, like we'll never know who we are. We might not like who we are. We might wish we were someone else. We might feel like we were given the wrong kind of body.

What am I here for? We might not know what to do with our time. We might feel like we don't fit in to any plan.

These kinds of questions are best answered by a biblical doctrine of creation. If God created people we can go back to what the Bible says about how and why he created. I can then boldly agree with what the Bible says about me and begin to apply what I believe to how I live.

Each of the three themes we'll explore here could easily be an entire sermon series. But kept together they give us a compact answer to the most important questions we might ask about ourselves.
