In Psalms 22 Jesus died. In Psalms 23 He is living. In Psalms 24 He is coming back.
The statement "The Lord is my shepherd" is defined and interpreted throughout the entire Psalm. King David uses the analogy of a shepherd and his sheep to paint a complete picture of all the sufficiency of God in our lives as a New Testament believer.
There are seven "Jehovah" names by definition in this one, short, Psalm. To understand this Psalm is to understand who Jehovah is and to find out if He is your Shepherd.
