The Intense Prayer of Jabez

Two verses only speak of this godly man. Jabez, honourable, but one of the unknowns that God knows. The meaning of his name a constant reminder of pain and sorrow. He was a praying man, crying out to God from a sense of desperate need. Let us cry out to God like him, with intense passion!. 'Oh, said he, 'Oh, that you would bless me....'. He was aware of his own weakness and also prayed that God's hand would be with him. Being aware of his own sinful nature, he asked God to keep him from evil and for a complete transformation. God, we learn, answered this short but mighty prayer. Remember, that God loves to hear the prayers of the unknown.
