Christ: The Image of the Invisible God

In these verses, Paul broke into a doxology in praise of the grandeur and glory of Jesus Christ. By pointing to the supremacy of Christ both in creation (verses 15-17), and in redemption (verses 18-19), he indicated the missing element in the false teaching in Colossae; an adequate view of the person of Christ. With a proper view of Christ, the Colossians would be able to resist the false teachings that troubled them.
