Genesis 7:6-24 - A Flood of Judgment
Series Genesis: The Why of Life
33
There is absolutely no question, from either the Scriptural account or from the geologic and fossil record, that Noah's Flood was not a local flood, but an entirely global cataclysm.
Those who want to push a local flood run into not only a few logical problems, but also a theological problem as well. If Noah's Flood was local, then God's promise to never flood the earth that way again is broken many times every single year.
And who wants to push the local flood the most? Not only atheists, but anyone, including Christians, who believe in long ages (i.e. millions/billions of years). Because a belief in long ages requires you to believe Noah's Flood was local if you want to be consistent at all.
