Arduous but Right

Paul, following Jesus, describes Biblical love, showing what it looks like toward someone who is worse than an enemy. Paul doesn't give a suggestion, but a command from the throne of heaven, telling us what love looks like in the context of being persecuted--we are to bless and not curse. We learn too how important empathy is in the working of God's Kingdom. Lack of empathy, whether it be no rejoicing or no weeping, is a warning signal to us that we are consumed with ourselves and ignorant about the functioning of God's body. The three commands covered in these two verses show what true love looks like.
