The Gospel: A Rescue Mission

Despite the good reports he had received, Paul understood that the Colossian Christians were in constant need of God's help. He assured them that he prayed continuously for them. In a strict sense it is impossible for believers to live lives of worthy (verse 10) of their status in Christ. Yet such perfection is our goal, and we can always do better in our attempts to serve Christ faithfully.
