with me to Mark chapter 10 verses 46 to 52. We're going to see a man who called on the Lord Jesus Christ because he wants the Lord to do something for him and after which he gave himself to the Lord. And that is what it is without salvation also. Mark 10, 46 to 52. And he came to Jericho. And as he went out of Jericho with his disciples, a great number of people, blind, but Timos, the son of Timos, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace, but he cried the more, a great deal. Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. And they called a blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise, he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, arose and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way. Amen. Let us pray. Father in heaven, we rejoice that we know you. Yesterday we were blind, but today we can see. And therefore we pray that you help us that we might go out and tell others concerning our site that they may also come and follow you. We believe and trust you have given us a mission. And our mission is to propagate the good news that you sent to us. Bless our time now that our studies may yield result unto thee in Jesus name. Amen. I have entitled this message, The Cry of a Blind Man. The Cry of a Blind Man. In this particular verses, we see a picture of a man who was blind. He was without sight and he wanted to see. Today, salvation is looked upon as if it's something that you have run about 10 in your life, and that is salvation. But in scripture, salvation is described as a radical change in the person. A person becoming a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5.17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. All things are passed away, behold, all things are become new. So when we say we have been saved, something radical must be seen in our lives. There should be a change of the old to the new. a blind man giving sight, a lunatic made sin, and a dead man giving life. When Christ was here on earth, he made all these things known to us by healing these people in their right. Beloved, We see salvation shown as a blind man giving sight here in these verses. There are several different kinds of healing or stories concerning blind men being given sight by the Lord Jesus Christ. And each of these events were different one from another. It wasn't the same. And that shows us that our God is a sovereign God. He has the power to do whatever He wills and at whatever time. I believe God made it possible this way so that we may trust him the more. Today you go to Pentecostal churches or charismatic churches and they say they are doing healing crusade and the same people will come back the next day because they have not been healed. But all those that Christ healed, they received their healing immediately. And it was for life. When we are saved, we are saved forever. We are not saved to lose our salvation. There are many who believe that we can lose our salvation. But beloved, I tell you plainly, by the word of God, that we shall never lose our salvation. Once saved, save forever. I want us to look at four things tonight concerning this blind man healed. First of all, let's look at his condition. He was blind, so he couldn't see. Before we came to know the Lord Jesus Christ, we are described as blind people. Although we can walk, we can see everything in the world, yet, spiritually, we're blind. By the day we accepted Christ as our personal savior, our eyes were illumined and we saw everything the way it should be seen because Christ became our master. He became our God. It seems he was at everyone's mercy. That blind man was at everyone's mercy because he couldn't see. This was our condition before we came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We thought we were seen, but we don't see. We were without sight, but we thought we have sight. We could see nothing of value in our lives during that time. My beloved, For the fact that we don't see, that doesn't mean God has rejected us. If we hear His voice, like this blind baptismist heard the voice of Jesus Christ and cried out for help, He would do surely help us. When I was 17 years old, a student friend of mine invited me to the church. And for the first time I heard the gospel and I gave my life to the Lord. I heard the gospel because somebody invited me. Today it behoves upon us too to invite people or to tell people about how we came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Because they are also blind and they are crying every day in their lives because there is something missing in their lives. Let's look at these circumstances. He was poor and therefore he begs to make a living. Beloved, we cannot save ourselves. We depend on somebody else, the Lord Jesus Christ. He atoned for our sins. He hung on the cross at Calvary. He paid my price and he paid your price so we can have life and have it more abundantly. And this blind man also could not save himself, but he had to depend on the Lord Jesus Christ. He probably had no friends of which he could turn to for help. You have family members, but sometimes they reject you because they think you are asking too much from them. Every morning, you want somebody to hold him or to carry him to the roadside whereby he can beg because he's in need. Beloved, when we have need, we always want to depend on people, but there's one man that you can depend on when you want life and you want it more abundantly, and that is Jesus Christ. He probably had neither thought of God nor things of God. Beloved, until we are told we are blind, we don't know we are blind. Until you tell somebody about the Lord Jesus Christ, maybe he might not even have had the name Jesus. And that is why the Lord Jesus Christ commissioned us that we should go into the world and tell people about Him. Can somebody rise tomorrow and say, Mr. Sissu and so, Madam Sissu and so, led me to the Lord Jesus Christ and I got my salvation? When we get to heaven, will somebody come and tap your shoulder and you turn, you don't know him, you say, how do you know me? He say, yesterday you witnessed to me and I accepted Christ as my personal savior. So, beloved, we have a job to do for Jesus because there are so many blind men walking among us. Beloved, sometimes you go on soul winning. You see somebody, you ask him, do you know Christ as your friend? Oh, yes, I know him. How do you know him? I've been baptized. I've been attending so-and-so church. I take the Lord's Supper. Can that save one? No. Let us prove further. And we know that there are people in the church, but they even don't know the Lord Jesus Christ. They are as blind as those walking on the street. So we have a responsibility. But ours is greater than we think because today the world is in the church. Today the church has embraced the world in it. So the kind of songs they sing, the kind of preaching we hear, the kind of entertainment they sustain in the church tells us that we have a greater work to do for the Lord Jesus Christ. So beloved, let us rise to our feet. and beat the drums for Jesus Christ so that those who are lost, those who are blind can respond and their eyes be opened. Let us look at his plea. His plea was for Christ to have mercy on him. You know, I remember when the Apostle Paul was apprehended by the Lord Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus. He spoke twice. First, he said, who art thou? He asked the Lord that question. And the Lord said, I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest. And then he asked the second question. Lord, what would thou have me to do? And I believe that was the key by which he did what he did for Jesus Christ. Because the Lord told him why he saved him. Have you ever asked the Lord why he saved you? Why didn't leave you to walk as a blind man throughout your life? But there was a time in your life that the Lord Jesus Christ apprehended you from the world. If we ask the Lord, he will show us why. But you know, I know why. The Lord save us, so we may serve him. He save us, so we may serve him. and the service he wanted us to render to him is to tell people about him. His plea was to get the attention of Jesus. He called upon the Lord, that son of David have mercy upon me. And the Lord gave his invitation. He asked that he should be called. And then the Lord asked this question. What will thou that I should do unto thee? Then he answered that I might see. Every blind person would like to see. especially those who were born with eyes they have been seen and all of a sudden they became blind but those who are born blind they will not care because that's what they know they came see nothing but I perceive this man was born with his two eyes he can see And then maybe something happened and he could not see again. That is why he was anxious to see again. But his seeing again is not just an ordinary seeing. He want to be a friend of Jesus. He want to be in the kingdom of God. And there are many today on our streets crying. for Jesus Christ to have mercy upon them. But Jesus saved us and he left us here so we may support those people and lead them to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brothers and sisters, let us not disappoint the Lord. Let us not disappoint him. You know, I give my people the opportunity, those who say they are shy, those who say they cannot do it, I give them the opportunity every second Sunday of the month, that the whole congregation will go out with tracts and we distribute and talk to people about the Lord Jesus. I want everybody to talk to somebody about Jesus Christ. Because too many people hide behind others. So when we say come on Saturday for so many a visitation, they will not come, only a handful of people. But I want everybody to gain a crown. You know, we are going to be given crowns, and there will be stars on our crowns. The stars are those we led to Jesus Christ. Daniel said it. And it is true. His plan was to see with his eyes. Not his ordinary eyes, but his spiritual eyes. Today, we can see with our spiritual eyes. This morning, we were on our way to Denver, Delaware. And our GPS could not take us there. So I tried to find a popular place there, and I realized that there is a military Air Force station there, so we used that. So when we got to that station, I put off the GPS, because the pastor gave us another route, and we used that. But when we got to where we need to turn, The Lord spoke to me that I should ask, if we move an inch, we'll be off our course. And you know, we have been praying since our GPS refused to give us the route. We have been praying. And the Lord knows that, and He knows that. And He's ready to help us. He's ready to see us through. So beloved, I have seen and experienced what the Lord can do for his people when we call upon him. So I know what this blind man experienced when he called upon the Lord Jesus Christ. I listened to the voice of God and asked somebody and we were shown the place and exactly 10 minutes we were at the church because God was in control. Beloved, let's allow the Lord to be in control of our lives so we do his will for our lives and not we doing our own things. In times of need, we must cry for Jesus for help. We have to cry upon him for help because he is the only one who can help us. Man can fail us, but Jesus never fails. I always pray and thank the Lord that He is my best friend in the whole wild world. Because He never fails. But earthly friends can fail us. So let us call upon Him, and He will help us. When we cry, And our prayer seemed not to be answered or unanswered. Let us continue to persist. That man was crying and people were shutting him down. But the Bible says he cried the more. Sometimes we go to the Lord with our requests. One, two, three, and we just sleep because we think He's not hearing us. He want us to continue to ask. Because He said, ask, and He shall be giving unto you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Too many Christians are lazy in prayer. They pray one, two, five minutes, they stop. Let us learn to pray and disturb the ears of the Lord. and he will do for us what we need, not what we want. That should be clear. No matter our condition, we must ask for the Lord's mercy daily. Daily, we must pray and ask for the Lord's mercy. Because we are vulnerable people. We don't have the strength, we don't have the power, but he has it all, and he will execute whatever we ask. Let's look at his attitude. He called on Jesus, that great name, that wonderful name. The Bible tells us at the end, every knee will bow, every tongue confess to the glory of God. by the name Jesus. And I'm so glad nobody is named Jesus in the whole wide world. Because if I see somebody named Jesus, I'll find out who he has saved. Because the name Jesus means Savior, isn't it? Yeah, so if they call you Jesus, you should tell me whom you have saved. But Jesus saved us. And that name will be maintained until that day. And every knee will bow. including the most wicked man ever, Isis, they will all bow before Jesus. He came to Jesus when Jesus called him. Beloved, many young people are being called today into full-time ministry and they have refused because they think the ministry don't owe anything better for them. It is not what we shall gain in the ministry, that is why we should respond. It is what the Lord wants us to do. You know what? When we talk about sources, we think it's money. or houses, or maybe we have cars, you know, worldly things. But today, let me give you my understanding of sources. Being faithful where the Lord has placed you, that is sources. When we talk about sources, being faithful where God has placed you. Beloved, if God has given you the talent to mow the grass here, and you continue to mow the grass every time, and you are faithful to it, you are successful. That is success. Because that blind man, he proved his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was given healing. Anybody we witness to must have the faith that Jesus Christ can save him. And he will be saved. Faith cometh by hearing, and the hearing by the word of God. So when we hear the word of God and we apply faith, the Lord will save us. It is all our doing. It is the Lord's doing. In salvation, I don't have part. It is the work of God. That man, that blind man, Bartimos, received his sight. He received healing. Why? Because he had faith in Jesus Christ. I believe we all had faith in Jesus. That is why we call ourselves believers. If you don't have faith, you have no business with Jesus Christ. And you know, I love The Hebrew chapter 11 meaning of faith. Faith is the substance of things hopeful, the evidence of things not seen. Something you have seen, how do you call that faith? It's no longer faith. When I came to this room, I just sat down on the seat because I know it will carry me. That is faith. I have faith it can carry me. So let us strengthen our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ because he alone can do great things with our lives. Then finally, let's look at his gratitude. That man, when he was saved, let's look at his gratitude. He said he followed Jesus. When we receive sight from the Lord Jesus Christ, we have to follow Him. Beloved, many have received sight from the Lord Jesus Christ, and today they are not following Him. They are following men. They're following prophets. They're following pastors. They're following church leaders. the following apostles. You witness to people and you hear them, oh, I attend this prophet's church. Why do you attend that church? Oh, the man is good. You don't say that Jesus is good. You say the man is good. They listen, say this man followed Jesus. Beloved, Let us allow our lives to portray that we are following Jesus. Our lives should portray to the world that we are following Jesus. You know what? We are in the world where everything has been turned upside down. What God says we shouldn't do, that is what we are encouraging people to do today in our world. And that is not too good. We need to wake up as believers. Number two, he glorified God. And we need to glorify God every day in our lives, even before our enemies. We need to glorify God because he has done great things for us wherein we need to be glad. Beloved, everywhere we go, we need to glorify our God so that the world will know we have a living savior. We have a living Savior. He is in the world today. I know He is living. Whatever men may say, I don't care. I know my God is living. And we need to prove it by glorifying our God. He has access to sing hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs. We need to sing that, like we sang this evening. But go to some churches. and they are singing worldly songs and they say they are glorifying God. What kind of God are they glorifying? I know they are not glorifying my God and your God, but they are glorifying their own God. The air is blowing in Christendom. Beloved, when it comes, let us say no to that air. We don't want to breathe that air. Let us say no to it. Let's stand firm on the rock that is higher than we are. You know, when Paul was about to die, he made this statement, and I love it. He said, I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course." And then finally he said, what? I have kept the faith. Jude said, Jude 3, he said, we should defend the faith once delivered unto the saints. That faith, we should defend it. And beloved, a time is coming that we have to defend this faith. And let us defend it with all our blood. Then that man influenced others. That blind man, when he received Christ, he influenced others. He made others aware that he was healed by one Jesus. That is what we need to do, too. We need to influence others. Is your life influencing somebody today? so that that person will say, because of this man, I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ, because he lived as somebody who has seen Jesus. It is my prayer that we'll learn from this blind man the need to follow Jesus, the need to glorify God, and the need to influence other lives. May the Lord bless us and guide us and direct us and lead us into living this life unto him. As he said to Joshua, this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth. But thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do. That is the key. You see, many Christians today observe, but they don't do. Let us purport in our heart that we will observe to do according to all that is written therein. Turn not to the right, nor to the left, and thou shalt have good success. Let us pray.
