Religious or Saved?

159 ( 117 | 42 )

Background: The Book of Acts written by Luke is one of the most exciting books of the Bible.

Acts is also a book where we can learn principles for evangelism.

Acts 1.8 is a key verse in the book of Acts. In Acts 1.8 Jesus told the Disciples that they were to be His Witnesses to the uttermost parts of the earth.

In the book of Acts we meet a Servant of God that was empowered by the Holy Spirit and he was one that made an impact. His name was Phillip.

In Acts 8 Phillip in Samaria DECLARES God's Word and DEMONSTRATES God's power by performing miracles.

He preaches, brings healing and baptizes believers. Acts 8.4ff

God sends an Angel with a message) to Phillip, to go south to witness to one soul out in the middle of nowhere.

God used a Heavenly Angel to give Phillip earthly directions so that Phillip could give Heavenly Directions to the Ethiopian.

This man was a Respected Man, A Religious Man & a Resolute Man, absolutely determined to go all the way to Jerusalem to worship.

I think often in our evangelism, we often ignore religious people, to their peril.

We see that they are religious and yet overlook the fact that religion does not equal righteousness.

People are not made right with God by their religion, but only by the redemption of Jesus Christ
