Responding to Jesus: Forsaken by God

Jesus did not merely feel forsaken by the Father as He hung on the cross. This is the essence of atonement; Jesus bore our hell in order that we might share his heaven vanished, Jesus clung by faith to the Father's character and promises to Him. Our privilege is to trust in His work for us -- and follow His example.
