gonna miss you. All right, well, let's get right into it. Our time is short this morning. American Revival 2025. Folks, I want to spend a couple of minutes before we get into Ephesians reminding us of what we've just been handed. Now, this isn't about, let me make it very clear, this isn't about The names that are going to be in the White House that have been in the White House or that will be in there. But folks, it's about freedom. It's about the First Amendment. It's about our country going in a direction that holds to a biblical worldview. Now, again, are those that are in public office, they're not preachers. They're not Bible teachers. But we've been begging God for a change. And The majority of you here, and if you haven't been praying for a change and like what was here, then God bless you. Keep on keeping on. But for the majority that have been looking for something to change, something that brings us back to the Constitution, something that brings us back to national security, something that brings us back to a society that isn't built on lawlessness and socialism. Folks, God answered your prayers for those that were looking for that. And he answered my prayers. I'll be very honest. I've been losing hope for our country, and that's a horrible thing to say. I've not been happy about it. I've been upset about it. And it's like, Lord, how much longer is this going to be able to take place? So either one of two things is going to happen. Either the rapture is next and is going to happen any second, or you're going to change our country around and maybe give us a little bit more time to be active and working as your children. So folks, what I'm encouraging you to do, and especially those that have been praying and begging God for reprieve from the things that have been taking a place in our country, the woke culture, the open border issue, the terrorism that is ready to go rampant within our country. You've got that reprieve. So folks, it's time to, yes, we have five minutes to rejoice, and we have four years to get busy and take advantage of what God is doing. Three quick things. Number one, renewal. Renewal took place in churches around America. It's happening as we speak. Just like many of you, just like we've been doing in various services over the last several years, we've been looking at 2 Chronicles 7, verse 14. And we've been looking at a promise that was given to the Jewish people. God told the Jewish people, listen, if your country's going bad, if things are going in a wrong direction and you stop serving God and the leadership stops serving God, I have four things that I'm going to recommend, no, that I'm going to mandate that you do if you want your country to get right with God. And we've adopted those four things that God specifically gave to the Jewish people. but are certainly applicable to today. 2 Chronicles 7, 14. If my people, and folks, I want to say as I look around here, there's an awful lot of God's people in this room. When I've been praying for our country, I said, Lord, if you said if there were 10 righteous people, you would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah. I said in Union Grove Baptist Church, I think we got a whole lot more than 10 people. And that's just one church. Worldwide, our country, if you will, there's dozens and hundreds and hundreds of Bible-believing churches that believe the same way you and I do. And it's like, Lord, you've got to spare our country, please, and begging them for it. And he said, all right, if my people, you that are Bible-believing Christians, those that have put your faith in Jesus, if my people who are called by my name will, number one, humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. I'm not sure that we've approved all four of those things. I'm not sure we've accomplished all four, but we're still pushing for the fulfillment of every one. Humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways. God says, listen, if you'll do that, God's people, God said, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive your sin, and I will heal your land. Now God's given us some healing. And again, I'm not trying to be political here. What I am is when we look at the issues that our country is facing and the international issues that our country is facing, I believe God has put someone into office that at least has come a whole lot closer to a biblical worldview than what has existed. Number two, Not only do we need renewal in our churches, which I believe has been taking place, we've been scared, we've been upset, we've been fearful. And God said, all right, I'm gonna give you a chance. So the second thing God says we need to do is to restore, to have a restoration, to have a biblical renewal, to have an American revival and evangelism in church attendance and biblical literacy. We've got a good crowd here again this morning. if you will, no holds barred place just jam packed next week with our evangelistic outreach folks. That is what's going to change America. We can put a leader in the White House that at least allows us to do our job. But if we don't do our job, we're going to waste four years. And I'm encouraging every single one of us. And I'm looking at myself in the mirror and it's like, what are we going to do in the next four years where we have the freedom to do our work that God's given us to do. Now then Christian, we are ambassadors for Christ as though God were pleading through whom? You see Jesus isn't going to come down here. He's not going to take the pulpit. He's not gonna say, let's go get them. He's not the one that is going to be going on the TV and the radio and door to door and into your workplace and into your school. No, what God is giving us the opportunity to be his ambassadors. And folks, boy, over the next four years, we need to take advantage of that. Now then Christian, we are ambassadors for Christ as though God were pleading through us. Folks, do you get that? God uses his people to get his work done, pleading through us. We implore you, we beg you, we beseech you on Christ's behalf, get right with God. Trust Jesus as your savior, and let's walk with him. Third thing, we need renewal, and I believe that started. We need a strong restoration in doing the things that God has called us to do as his people, and finally, We just need an old-fashioned revival. Colossians 3.23 says, and whatever you do, Christian, do it heartily as to whom? The Lord. Listen, folks, I'm not doing what we're doing. We're not preaching this morning. We're not going to be working hard for next week for President Trump. It's not about President Trump. President Trump, and I've said this over and over and over and over again, The reason we elect individuals into office is to allow us to do our work as God's people. And I believe that he is going to uphold the Constitution. I believe that he's going to uphold our First Amendment rights and allow us to get back to some things that a different administration, not to be named, has taken away. things that have shut down radios, things that have shut down Facebook accounts, things that have shut down social media because we've been algorithmed out of the system. I've had it happen multiple times, multiple things that I post get taken down and they're not antagonistic and they're not even against the government, but because they've been pro-Christ, because they've been pro-Christian, they disappear. Now folks, again, I'm not here to And I don't, I don't stand up here and disparage government leaders. I will make it very clear when I believe we need to take a different direction as we have. But folks, the cancel culture needs to get canceled today. And we just need to get right back. And God said, listen, Christian, you got four years to get busy and to serve him. So listen, Christian, what does he say? And whatever you do this week, folks, we have a chance to change many people's lives if we'll get busy and we'll invite them here. And we can't just let it be a one-time event for harvest gathering. Folks, we are God's people. We have been called. We have been given a reprieve and we need to take advantage of it. Knowing that from the Lord, not from the government, from the Lord, you will receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve. For you, Christian, serve the Lord God. 1 Corinthians 15 58 says your labor is not in vain in the Lord. So let's pick up the cross. Let's carry it high. Let's get the message out. Let's get rid of the fear and the devil's statements that nobody's going to get saved today. Nobody wants to listen to you. You'll be looked at as a fool. Well, folks, I want to be a fool for whom? Be a fool for Christ and let's get busy. Take advantage of what's taken place. Let's support the new administration. Let's move forward. But folks, the last thing and I've been saying this and I said it when I was sheriff and I said it publicly when I was in uniform. Government never changed the heart. Only God can do that. So let's pick up the cross and be busy for him. All right. You're going to get a short message this morning again. But we started the prison epistles last week. The four prison epistles are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. So we're going to get into a couple of things. And if you paid attention to the little movie up here, it was very much on purpose, and Pastor Josh puts that together. And we went through many of the blessings, many of the spiritual blessings that we have in Christ. Well, take your Bibles. Let's go to Ephesians chapter one, and we'll read the first couple of verses here. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God to the saints who are in Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus. Now we're going to go through a list of many different benefits that you have in Christ if you are a Christian. In other words, one that has put your faith in Christ. Verse two, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has already, that's the tense here, who has blessed us already with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in love, having predestinated us to the adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he made us accepted in the beloved. Father, thank you for these wonderful truths. Thank you for this massive amount of information in just these couple of verses. Now Father, I pray as we spend just a short amount of time this morning, expanding our look at this precious passage, would you help us to be encouraged by it? Would you help us to understand that as your people, we've already, already been blessed with all spiritual blessings. So Father, I pray that you'd help us to draw closer to you this morning. Might we fall in love with you more than ever. Might we just say, Lord, I love you so much. I wanna serve you. I wanna be the best possible vessel I can be. Thank you for the freedoms that you've given us in this country. Father, help us to take advantage of those now and to be soldiers for the cross. Now, Lord, would you please bless this time now as we open your precious word in Jesus' name, amen. Just as a quick review for those that weren't here last week, we're talking about a church that is in modern day Turkey, used to be known as Asia, and the place is Ephesus, of course, just not that far from Israel, which you see basically is the tip of the arrow is where Israel is and where you see Ephesus, so just a little bit northwest, if you will, of Israel. And Paul, on his missionary journey, went to, of course, this place called Ephesus, a massive metropolis, a strong, giant, urban city, If you go there today, and I've had the privilege of walking through the streets, it's a massive archaeological up digging. I told the folks last week that actually was the facade for the library back in that day. And you cannot check any books out today, but it's still there. And the tourists are able to walk through and see these massive archaeological ruins. As at any major city, they had a massive coliseum there. Of course, we talked a bit about that. Anytime you go into a major urban area just like Ephesus was, the paganism was there, the idolatry was there, anti-God things were there and it was taking place in the city of Ephesus. Well Paul goes there preaching the gospel and of course Many folks come to Christ and that's, then he's writing this epistle to those that came to Jesus in Ephesus. And you got a little bit of a, you knew how big that Colosseum was. That's basically the outline of the old ancient city of Ephesus that Paul is writing to here. And a little bit of, you can see the streets, the giant colonnades and so forth, major metropolis. All right, so that sets the stage Now let's take a look at the actual passage. We started this last week. We only got through part of verse one. Paul, we talked about, is an apostle, one that was sent. And we talked about what is an apostle. And just as a quick reminder, therefore those men who have accomplished or have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning with the baptism of John to that day when he was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection. And they proposed to Joseph called Barsabbas, who was named Justice and Matthias. What's the issue here? One who was called an apostle, and we spent a good deal of time on this last week, had to be one that was involved in the ministry of Christ, basically from the time of John the Baptist through his resurrection. Now, something tremendously changed because Paul said, I'm an apostle, but yet he had not fulfilled, if you will, these first three verses. So God did something special with the apostle Paul in verse six of 1 Corinthians 15 explains what that special event was. And after that, he's talking about after the resurrection of Jesus, he was seen by many people. And after that, he, Jesus, was seen by over 500 brethren at once, of whom the greater part remained to the present. Well, of course, that's back in the first century. They certainly have died by now, but at that time, they were still alive. But some have fallen asleep or have died. After that, he was seen by James. Now, who's writing 1 Corinthians? Who's the author? Apostle Paul, then by all the apostles. Then last of all, Jesus, he was seen by me also as by one born on a due time. So Paul, of course, he was not following along the traditional way the other 12 apostles did. So Jesus basically appears to the apostle Paul, blinds him for a little bit, opens up his eyes, and Paul then becomes an individual. Of course, his name was called Saul at that time, but God then used the name Paul to mark him but Paul was transformed by Jesus Christ. By the way, has anything changed in 2,000 years? I mean the same thing, the same way. We are transformed by what? By coming to a knowledge of who Jesus Christ is and receiving him as our Savior. Well, apostles also had we're able to do something that you and I can't do today. The signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance in signs and wonders and mighty deeds. Paul had the ability to do miraculous things. Why? Because he was an apostle and God used the things that he did, the miracles that he performed to document his message. Ephesians 1, 1 again. Well, let's take probably the rest of the time. Let's go to the second thing. All's we did is introduce the name last week, but there's so much to this particular name. Paul, an apostle of whom? Jesus Christ. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ. Yeshua, Christos, Jesus, the Christ. The Christ is the word that God uses basically synonymously with the word Messiah. Messiah is only used four times in our English Bible. The word Christos, or Christ, is used 571 times. Two times where we find the term Messiah used happens to be in one of the greatest prophetic passages in scripture, known as the Daniel's 70-week prophecy. And the Bible tells us, and we've been through this many times, know therefore, Daniel says, written about 595 some BC, know therefore, Daniel said, and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem unto who? Messiah the Prince. Folks, and I always ask this. I wish we had more time to get into this, but here's the deal. Daniel chapter nine gave the exact date when Jesus would be here on earth. Did you hear me? Daniel chapter nine verses 24 to 26 gives us the exact date when Jesus Christ would be on this earth. You say, I've never heard that before. Well, if you've been in our church for more than A couple of months, you've heard it. Most folks have no clue that it's here. You say, well, how do you know that? Because he made it very clear that the 69 weeks of Daniel, better known as the seven heptads, every single week of Daniel is actually equal to seven years. It's seven of something. So Daniel's 70 weeks, you multiply seven times what? Seven times seven. and you find out how many years we're talking about. Well, he said 69 weeks, so when you multiply seven times 69, how many years do you get? You're right, 483, even though nobody answered. We gotta move quick. 483 years after what happens. Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem, that command was given by King Artaxerxes in 445 BC. You count forward 483 years, 173,880 days, and you know the day that Jesus Christ walked in Jerusalem to be crucified. It's documented, it's a fact, it's right there in black and white. And he says, listen, and uses that term, the Messiah coming. The prince, and he goes through the dating, there shall be seven weeks and 62 weeks the streets shall be built again and the wall even in troublesome times came to pass exactly as stated. And after the 62 weeks Messiah shall be cut off. What's he saying? The Messiah's gonna come after that decree is given 483 years later. What's Messiah gonna do? He's going to be crucified. He's going to be killed. We know the end of the story because we have the complete Bible. And there it is in black and white, folks. Folks, do you understand how accurate God's word is? Do you understand the prophecy here is so amazing? Now, some people say, well, it's not all about prophecy. Well, folks, one third of our Bible is prophecy. And God gave us this very specific prophecy. There's no other, and I hate to use the term, there's no other religion on this earth that can do what this one verse does. No other religion. No other prophecy, no other religion has anything that comes close to matching this specific prophecy. Messiah will be cut off, but he wasn't cut off for himself. He was cut off for me and you. Two times the word Messiah is used. Well, let's go to John chapter one. The next time we talk about Jesus, the Messiah. Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples and looking at Jesus as he walked, he said, behold, the Lamb of God. The two disciples heard him speak and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned and seeing them following said to them, what do you seek? They said to him, rabbi, which is to say when translated teacher, where are you staying? He said to them, come and see. They came and saw where he was staying and remained with him that day. Now it was about the 10th hour. One of the two who heard John speak and followed him was Andrew Simon, Peter's brother. Here comes number three. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, we have found the Messiah, which is translated the Christ. Now folks, forgive me for going here once again. They see Jesus walking. And he's like, that's the Christ. That's the Messiah. And he's like, what should we do? Come and see. I've told you the story about when I received Jesus Christ as my personal savior. My older sister came home one afternoon from high school. She's all excited, changed, acting nice. And I was like, what is your problem? Why are you acting nice? What's going on? And she says, she didn't know what to say. Well, I watched her for a couple of weeks and she kept up this silliness of trying to be nice to me. Finally, I got on her face and said, listen, what in the world is going on with you? And I was mad. What do you want? What are you trying to get from me? And here's the words that she said to me, three words. Come and see. Come and see. And I went to a little home Bible study across from the high school where I was going with my sister, and I walked in. There was a group of maybe 20, 30 young high school folks, and a dear lady was standing up front. She said, hey, treated me nicely. I never seen anything like it. Kids singing, having a nice time, kind of weird. And all of a sudden, she started giving the gospel. She talked about I was a sinner. And because I was a sinner, I didn't deserve to go to heaven, but that somebody loved me, the name was Jesus. And Jesus came down from heaven, died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and three days later rose from the dead. He said, you need to trust Jesus as your savior. You need to put your faith in Jesus. And I went home. It took me about two weeks for it to finally process. I'd gone to church all my life. And all of a sudden, I'm in my My parents' home, I'm a teenager, I'm a sophomore in high school, and I went down to the basement. After someone had the guts, my sister did a say, come and see. And I went and saw, and I heard the message that I'd been looking for for 16 years of my life. And I went down to the basement, fell on my face on a little studio couch. I didn't know what a sinner's prayer was. I didn't know what it meant to get saved. But right there, I knew I needed to put my faith in Jesus and trust him as my personal savior. and I buried my head in that little couch, trusted Jesus, and have never looked back since. And it says, listen, we found him, the one who's called the Messiah, which is translated the Christ, the life changing one. John chapter four, we won't go through the whole passage, but the fourth time, Jesus comes up to a Samaritan woman. And she looks at him and she's like, wait a minute, you're a Jew. I'm a Samaritan woman. We don't have any type of a relationship between us. Why are you asking me for water? Verse 10, Jesus answered and said to her, if you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you, give me a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. Jesus answered and said to her, whoever drinks of this water will thirst again. Of course, he was looking at the physical water. But whoever drinks the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into what? Everlasting life. Folks, do you understand how we get? It's like, well, that's so simple. That's just the gospel. We all know the gospel. We trusted the gospel. Many of you have been saved for years and tens of scores and decades. And it's like, okay, we know it. It's just the old gospel. It's the same thing we've been hearing for decades and years. Don't you have anything new? No. No. You see, yes, there's a lot of theology and there's a lot of things that we can learn. But folks, what is the one thing that can change your life? It's the gospel. What's the one thing that we hopefully go to church for, have fellowship with God's people, and be encouraged by it, and understand that when we go back out into the battlefield, the one thing that unites us is our faith in Jesus Christ. That is the life-changing message. Folks, people need their lives changed today. People may not realize it. They may push back on it. They may be against it. But the precious gospel says I love you. When they go home and they're crying in their pillow at night, when their families are falling apart, when their children are disobedient, when they're stuck on drugs and alcohol and sexual addictions, just like many in this room were one day, and all of a sudden you heard the gospel and it changed your life. Whoever drinks of this water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water, springing up into everlasting life. The woman said to him, and folks, there are people all over Union Grove, Kansasville, Yorkville, Racine County, Milwaukee County, Kenosha County, and every other county in Wisconsin. Sir, give me this water that I may not thirst nor come here to draw. Jesus said to her, go call your husband and come here. The woman said to him, sir, I perceive that you're a prophet. Why? Because she knew she wasn't married. She had a bunch of guys. She was an immoral woman. And all of a sudden Jesus points it out. She's like, how'd you know that? How'd you know that? You must be a prophet. The woman said to him, Know that Messiah there it is number four. I know that Messiah is coming who is called Christ the Christos When he comes he will tell us all things Jesus looks down at this dear little lady Her hearts under conviction She realizes that he knows the sin that she's been living in and he's still talking to her and he's still loving on her and being kind to her and And she understands that the Messiah is coming. And Jesus looks at this dear lady and Jesus said to her, I who speak to you, am he. An encounter with the Messiah. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus. We'll stop with this next one. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, what? By God's will. Do you know what God's will is for your life, Christian? Yes, we know that Paul is an apostle. We understand that Jesus is the Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah. He's the life-changing one. He's the one that started a journey in your heart, at least most of you. If you don't know if you died right now, you haven't started your journey yet. The majority of you have started your journey with Christ. The majority of you know if you died right now, you go to heaven and you want to serve him, you want to love him, and you want to move forward with him. And I say there has never been a better time than today. We need to come out of, and I'm going to use a derogatory term here, we need to come out of the closet, Christian. Did you hear me? We need to open the closet door. And I know what all you are thinking right now. You're using a term that's used for something else. Yes, I am. Because the Christian community has been just as afraid to come out as those that have been involved in what you're thinking about right now. And I'm not even going to name it. We've got to be vocal. You know what's going on with the LGBTQI plus community right now? They are screaming at the top of their lungs. They came out of the closet. They tried to change America and they're still trying and they aren't going to stop. We've been accepting, excuse me, many have been accepting of the rhetoric. Many have been accepting of it in their businesses. Many have been accepting of it in the government. Many are pushing it in your public schools and your libraries and all the other things that are taking place. And they are screaming at the top of their lungs though they are about this big in number. Oh, they're massive. No, they are not. They just got a big voice. And many of you are upset about it. All right, I'm not here to slam that issue. What I am here is to promote ours. Get out of the closet, Christian. Well, it's scary. People are going to push back on us. The government will hate us. They're going to try and cancel us out. No kidding. No kidding. We know that. And God said, listen, If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, get on their knees and pray, fire this thing back up and get out there and get busy for God, we can change America like never before. Now, folks, I'm not trying to make a political speech here. What I am saying is God needs his people to rise up like never before. God needs us to get involved in his will. And I'm not going to go through the verses. We'll pick them up next week. But folks, I want to encourage you. I am encouraged. I am on fire. I am like, listen, I was and I'm just I'm going to be honest. Honesty sometimes gets people in trouble, but I'm going to be honest. Always have and always will be. I was ready to say, if this goes the wrong way, and we lose everything, and it keeps going down this horrible dark rabbit hole, it's like, what's the point? And I got discouraged. And many of you got discouraged. Many of you got upset. Many of you were like, if this doesn't happen, we're gonna go sour on America. Well, folks, it did happen. And we are on topside once again. And I wanna encourage you. Use your freedom, and this is not about government. This is about Jesus. It's about this Bible. It's about standing up like we've never stood up before. It's about taking the freedoms that we have and saying, praise the Lord, thank you. Well, don't say praise the Lord and thank you if you're not willing to stand up and pick up your cross. Then we've just defeated ourselves. So let's get up. Let's go out there like never before. Let's get busy for God this week. Let's fill this place up next week. Not for the sake of numbers, but for the sake of souls. Do you know that one person who comes to Christ will have a massive influence on their family, on their friends, on their school, on their environment, on the place they work. God can use you. Do you believe that? Now then Christian we are. ambassadors for Christ. What are you going to do with what Jesus has given to you? Let's keep praying. Let's keep humbling ourselves. Let's keep pushing out. Let's keep sharing the gospel. When they say no, don't give up. Do not stop. I'm going to put some into cardiac arrest right now. I'm going to give a quote from our current president. I love the quote, but I'm going to take it way out of context. Here were his words with a smile on his face. Setbacks are unavoidable. Giving up is unforgivable. And I said, Mr. President, I love that quote, even though I'm going to use it in the totally opposite direction than you did. Setbacks are unavoidable. Yes, they are. And we've had some serious setbacks in our country. And we didn't give up. Got close sometimes. Got discouraged sometimes. Wanted to quit sometimes. Wanted to say there's no hope sometimes. But we said, let's get together as God's people. Let's pray. Let's beg God for reprieve on the anti-God, anti-biblical worldview, and let's move forward with the gospel. Please, Lord, would you just give us... Can we have four more years? Where we can get busy and not be forced to go underground? Did you thank God for what we have? Then let's not waste it. Let's get busy. Let's get out there. Father, thank you for your love for us. I pray that you do something mighty in this room right now. The majority of folks in this room have placed their faith and trusting in Jesus. And Father, we've been a little bit heartbroken at times. We've been a little bit discouraged at times. And Father, I believe that because of your people, because of the prayers of your people, because of the begging of your people that you said, all right, Maybe you finally have woken up, not like the woke culture, but you've awakened to the fact that Jesus needs to be promoted. Jesus' name needs to be lifted up. The name of Jesus needs to be carried across the communities where you have influence. Father, would you help us to do that? Would you move in us? We're not apostles, but we still are sent ones. We know who Jesus Christ the Messiah is, and we know your will. is to be His ambassadors. Father, would you please use us? If you're in this room right now, no, I'm not going to do an invitation, but I want God to move an invitation in your own heart. Right there where you are, I know it's been hard sometimes.
