Freedom!

Read Galatians 3-4 carefully. Here the Holy Spirit distinguishes law and gospel with such reasoning and illustration that a Christian cannot help but rejoice exceedingly in the freedom of forgiveness in Christ alone. This magisterial truth, of justification by faith alone in the triumph of Christ over our sin, is foundational for the health
and well-being of Christ's church. The Scriptures testify:

Hebrews 7:19, …(for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.
Romans 3:28, For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
Romans 4:5, And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.

Great sinners need a great Savior! For those under the condemnation of the law, whose conscience accuses them continually, these chapters are the sweetest gospel medicine assuring us of undeserved pardon in Christ. For the Christian struggling against sin, beaten down by their own failures, and accused by Satan, Christ answers every charge. Guilty! Yes, but Christ carried my guilt. Damned! Yes, but Christ took my curse. Failing! Yes, but even now
"Christ my Righteousness" intercedes for me before the throne of God above.
