The God Who Is Not There

Micah's prophecies in Micah 3:1-12 focus on one central idea--God's absence. He is the God who is not there and He is silent! God will not be there for unjust rulers and corrupt religious leaders, who think God is with them but who devour His people and lead them astray. Unless they repent, their unjust leadership and mercenary ministry will result in God's absence which leads to destruction.

1. God will hide His face from rulers
   who devour His people (3:1-4)

2. God will not answer those who are
   prophets for profit (3:5-8)

3. God will abandon corrupt rulers and
   religious leaders (3:9-12)
