Luke chapter 17 here this morning,
Luke chapter 17. Something came to my mind here this morning
as I was meditating on this passage and doing some final review for
this morning here. 40 years ago this fall, I began
my indoctrination in dispensationalism as I headed off to Bible college.
As I've been saying, I've been trying to unlearn what I learned
years ago in Bible college. Here's what I want you to understand
here in Luke chapter 17. We've seen reference about the
kingdom of God, and now we're going to see reference to the
coming of the Lord, the coming of Christ. What I'm gonna emphasize
today is that Jesus was not pre-trib. Jesus was not pre-trib. I see
so many passages that totally, totally are opposite of what
we've been indoctrinated with now for about a hundred years.
Luke 17, verse 20. We need to remember the context
here as we go into the passage for today. Notice verse 20 and
following. And when he was demanded of the
Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answered
them and said, the kingdom of God cometh not with observation.
Why? Because it's not a physical kingdom.
We've seen that. It's not a visible kingdom. Neither
shall they say, lo here or lo there. For behold, the kingdom
of God is within you. It's within the nation. as he's
speaking here to these Pharisees. And he said unto the disciples,
now, notice, now he's addressing the disciples. The day will come
when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man,
and ye shall not see him. Why? Because Jesus was going
to die, he's going back to heaven, back to the right hand of majesty
on high. and they shall say to you, notice
this, they shall say to you, see here or see there, go not
after them nor follow them. For as the lightning that lighteneth
out of one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part of
heaven, so shall also the son of man be in his day. Notice,
at his coming, the first. but first must he suffer all
things, many things, and be rejected of this generation, the generation
he's speaking to, this generation. And as it was in the days of
Noah, Noah, so shall it also be in the days of the son of
man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were
given in marriage until the day when Noah entered into the ark
and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise also, as it
was in the days of Lot, They did eat, they drank, they bought,
they sold, they planted, they builded. But the same day that
lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the
day when the Son of Man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be
upon the housetop and his stuff in the house, let him not come
down to take it away. And he that is in the field,
let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever
shall seek to save his life shall lose it. And whosoever shall
lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in that night
there shall be two men in one bed. The one shall be taken and
the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together.
The one shall be taken and the other left. Two men shall be
in the field, the one shall be taken and the other left. And
the answer said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them,
Wheresoever the body is thither shall the eagles be gathered
together. So again, we notice in this context
in verse 20, the Pharisees are demanding of the Lord Jesus when
the kingdom of God should come. And again, he answers, the kingdom
of God is cometh not with observation, neither shall they say, lo here
or lo there, for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
I emphasized, I think it was two weeks ago, we've been focusing
on the wrong kingdom. Seek ye first the kingdom of
God and his righteousness, and all these things that we need
shall be added unto us. But again, I wanna emphasize,
he now then begins speaking to his disciples. The days will
come when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the son
of man, and ye shall not see it. And they, They, unbelievers,
false teachers, prophets, whatever, they shall say to you, the disciples,
he's speaking to his disciples here, don't forget that, see
here or see there, go not after them nor follow them. Notice
he tells his disciples to not follow after them, to not go
after them. Let me emphasize and say something
here in a practical level application of that. Don't listen to these
people who are saying, well, the Lord may come such and such
time or whatever. I just came across a message
title, somebody that I was listening to, there was another message
that was mentioned, you know, could the Lord come back in 2022?
Well, obviously he didn't come back in 2022. He didn't come
back in 2018, by the way. You know why that was so significant?
Because it was the 70th observance. of the independence of Israel.
We are setting dates and Jesus says, don't do it. Here's some
practical application for us. Go not after them, nor follow
them. If they get some of those things
totally wrong, don't even follow them, don't bother listening
to them. In fact, the Old Testament law even said, when a prophet
gives a message, a prophecy, and it doesn't come to pass,
don't listen to them. You are not under obligation
to listen to them. They are false prophets. I want you to notice
again, these are false teachers that are making these predictions
about prophecy. Stop following them, stop listening
to them. We need to stop focusing on the
error and focus on the truth. And then he talks about his second
coming. For as the lightning, the lightneth
out of the one part under heaven, shineth out of the other part
under heaven, so shall the Son of Man be in his day. Pay attention
to this phrase here, in his day, and so on, the singular day.
Notice he talks about in his day at the time of his coming.
He's introducing here the second coming of the Lord Jesus before
he even goes to the cross. I also want to remind you that
in Matthew 24 and the parallel passages, he emphasizes another
event that takes place in this same teaching. And he emphasizes
AD 70. That is another horrible interpretation
of Scripture, misinterpretation of Scripture, as now these prophecy
so-called experts take Matthew 24 and Luke 21 and the parallel
passages and say that those things are the tribulation and the great
tribulation. No, you look in the context,
he's answering a question as to when Jerusalem is going to
be destroyed. He talks about his second coming
at the end. We have to pay attention to these things because there's
all kinds of false teaching that's come And we need to stop listening
to these false teachers because the reality is this. He emphasizes
that there is going to be a time of destruction in Jerusalem.
And it says after that comes the, after that tribulation comes
the second coming. Now, why don't you notice here,
it says, he pictures this, his second coming, like the lightning.
So when you, Look out the window, you know, gotta be careful, it's
too bright. But when you look out at the light, you know, when
a storm is coming in, all of a sudden the light, and it's
like it's shining to across the heaven. Jesus says, that's how
I'm coming. That's what it's gonna be like
when I come. But notice that he emphasizes, in his day. In
his day, there's a particular day at his coming. But first,
he emphasizes, must he suffer many things and be rejected of
this generation? Ah, just wait a minute, though.
If the Jews had accepted their Messiah, Jesus would not have
gone to the cross. This is why I keep saying that.
I was indoctrinated. I mean, as soon as I heard that
by a professor in a course I was taking, by correspondents, red
flag, red flag, red, that is total absolute heresy. It totally ignores scripture
like Isaiah 53. All we like sheep of God. And
the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all. How is that possible
if he became king? He did not die and shed his blood.
Psalm 22 is very clear about the crucifixion. Oh, if the Jews
had accepted their Messiah, Jesus would not have gone to the cross.
That is hogwash. That is heresy. That is false
teaching that people continue to listen to. Okay, so some don't
go to that extreme. But they say, well, the kingdom
was postponed. It's the same teaching. But we
keep, American Christianity and places around the world keep
listening to this false teaching that is not rooted and based
in scripture. It is absolute heresy. Jesus
says, don't go after them nor follow them. He says he must. Oh, that's a very important word
in this context. Before all of this in the future, I must suffer
many things and be rejected of this generation. Oh, there's
that anti-Semitism again. The Jews, with Rome's help, put
Jesus on a cross. In Acts 2, Peter says to the
Jews that were assembled before him from around the world, he
says, you crucified the Lord. whom God hath exalted. Again,
he must first suffer many things to be rejected of this generation.
Now he gives two examples here, two Old Testament pictures to
give understanding about his second coming. It says, as it
was, and as it was in the days of Noah, all right, so the days
of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man.
Notice he gives some examples, all the things that were going
on. They did eat. They drank, they married wives,
they were given in marriage. Now, Noah went into the ark and
seven years later, all this takes place, right? The flood, right? Duh. Obviously, Jesus wasn't allowing
for a pre-trib rapture. Notice how it says this. It says
they did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given
in marriage until the day. I have that day circled. Noah
did not go into the ark seven years. Oh, the rapture, you know,
the rapture is taking, we're in the ark, seven years, in seven
years, the flood's coming, no. They were doing, carrying on
life until the day Noah went into the ark, entered into the
ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Notice, I want you
to notice, the wicked were the ones taken in destruction. Likewise
also, as it was in the days of Lot. They did eat, they drank,
they bought, they sold, they planted, they built it. I think
it's interesting. No marriage and giving in marriage.
The days of Lot, but notice, circled here the same day. The lot went out of Sodom. It
rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
There's nothing in this passage that says Lot was removed from
Sodom and Gomorrah, the area there, seven years ahead, in
preparation for the final judgment leading into the destruction
of Sodom and Gomorrah. That is heresy. There was no
such thing in the same day. Notice Matthew 13. I wanna remind
you of the context of this. Jesus is teaching this over and
over again. So are we? In modern-day Christianity,
following dispensationalism, are we telling Jesus that he's
a liar? Notice it says in verse 24 of
Matthew 13. I'll remind you of the wording
here, in particular in verse 30. Another parable put he forth
unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like unto the man
which sowed good seed in his field, but while men slept, his
enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But
when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then
appeared the tares also, So the servants of the householder came
and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy
field? From whence then hath it tares? He said unto them,
An enemy hath done this. It's the enemy that is sowing
the false teaching. It's the enemy that's sowing
the tares. The servant said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go
and gather them up? But he said, nay, lest, while
ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until seven years before the harvest.
We have been putting words in Jesus' mouth for generations
now. Let both grow together until
the harvest. When is the harvest? Revelation
tells us when the harvest is. Put in thy sharp sickle and reap,
for the harvest is ripe. And in the time of harvest, I
will say to the reapers, gather together first the wheat. Are
we calling Jesus a liar? We have been, we just don't realize
it. Gather together first the tares,
the unbelievers, and bind them in bundles to burn them. But
gather the wheat into my barn. In case you've missed the point,
let's notice his explanation here. Verse 36, then Jesus sent
the multitude away and went into the house and his disciples came
unto him saying, declare unto us the parable of the tares of
the field. He answered and said unto them, he that soweth the
good seed is the son of man, obviously Jesus Christ. He's
proclaiming the message. The field is the world. The good
seed are the children of the kingdom, children of the kingdom. The only way you get into this
kingdom is by being born again. And the tares of the children,
the tares are the children of the wicked one. John 8, 44. You
have your father, the devil. Anyone who is an unbeliever is
not believing in Jesus Christ is a tare. They are unbelievers. They're part of this field of
the world. The end of that, so them is the devil. The harvest
is the end of the world. The end of the world, not seven
years before, and the reapers are the angels. As therefore
the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in
the end of this world. Sounds like the lake of fire,
doesn't it? Hell. The Son of Man shall send forth his angels
and they shall gather out of his kingdom. It's the Lord's
kingdom. All the kingdoms of this earth
are gonna be delivered up to the Lord, it says in 1 Corinthians
15. And then he's gonna deliver everything up to his heavenly
father. Notice, they shall gather out of his kingdom all things
that offend and them which do iniquity, and shall cast them
into a furnace of fire, there shall be wailing and gnashing
of teeth. Then, then, then shall the righteous shine forth as
the son in the kingdom of their father, who hath ears to hear,
let him hear. Do you realize that if there
is a pre-trib rapture, we're gonna be glorified seven years
before the end of the harvest? That's what Jesus said. He says
that the tears are gonna be dealt with, then we're gonna be glorified. You have to pay attention to
this. We have been twisting scripture for so long, we don't even see
it anymore. As you go back to Luke 17, notice
again, he emphasizes, in the day, no one in his family entered
into the ark. The flood came and destroyed
them all. Likewise also, verse 28, as it was in the days of
Lot, they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they
planted and built, and notice, but the same day that Lot went
out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and
destroyed them all. Even thus, in case you doubt
what he's saying, he emphasizes, even thus shall it be in the
day when the Son of Man is revealed. Oh, but there's going to be a,
no, there's not gonna be a rapture seven years before. There's nothing
in the Bible, especially in the book of Revelation, that even
talks about seven years. That is all a twist in the scripture,
as I've understood this now from 40 years of first indoctrination
and studying this out, what the Bible actually says. In case
you've missed it yet, Verse 31, in that day, he which shall be
upon the housetop and his stuff in the house, let him not come
down to take it away. And he that is in the field,
let him likewise not return back. Now, I don't wanna spend a lot
of time going into this passage because we're gonna deal with
this in relation to his teaching about AD 70 and the destruction
of Jerusalem. But what I want you to notice
here is he's talking and emphasizing about not worrying about your
stuff. Okay, so this is something that I'm noticing here. that
there's all kinds of prophecy so-called experts that are millionaires. I've mentioned this before. There
are so many that are millionaires. If they truly believe what the
Bible says, they would stop worrying about their stuff. They're living
in million-dollar houses. Did Jesus ever do that? Obviously
not. He didn't have a place to lay
his head. I'm not saying we shouldn't have a house. But here's the
reality of this. They're getting rich off this
twisting of Scripture. As you think about the pattern
here, the flow of all of this, I want you to consider that,
first of all, it started with Darby, and I've mentioned this
before, that there's evidence, historical evidence, that Darby
was actually funded by Rothschilds. Because literally, he wanted
to create a division in fundamentalism, as it was commonly referred to.
So it went from Darby to the Schofield Reference Bible. Millions. Millions of Schofield reference
Bibles have been sold. Millions. At the same time as
Schofield, Larkin charts came out, the world's best, the world's
greatest book on dispensational truth. Pretty humble title, right? But they've kind of changed that
title a little bit. You know, they say, well, we better not be too front
with that. But look at all these charts. So literally, it takes
the Schofield Bible notes and visualizes them, and even included
in Larkin's book was a chapter, I think it's chapter 32, that
talks about and does a comparison with the great pyramid of Egypt
having great dispensational truth. Ah, that tells us part of the
roots of this. Can you show me in the Bible
where Egypt has anything good from Egypt? It's a picture of
the world It had demonic worship. Nothing good comes from Egypt.
In fact, Alexandria, Egypt is where all the modern Bibles have
their roots, and the false philosophies of Christianity as well. So moving
on down, then you have late great planet Earth, Hal Lindsey. I've
read that Hal Lindsey is a multimillionaire. Made a lot of money off late
great planet Earth. Millions of copies sold. And
then you have the Jesus movement. As I was reflecting on my notes
here this morning, I thought back to my younger years, my
teen years, and there was a video series that was very popular.
And there was a song associated with, I think at least the first
video, and it was a song written by Larry Norman. And in case
you aren't familiar with this song, back in the 70s in particular,
the early 80s, this song was very popular and it came out
of the Jesus movement. When you do a study of the Jesus
movement, really what that was is they were trying to bring
rock and roll people who, quote, made a professional faith, trying
to bring them into Christianity. Chuck Smith was all a part of
that. He was the leader of all that. Well, this song was popular.
Life was filled with guns and war and everyone got trampled
on the floor. I wish we'd all been ready. Children
died. The days grew cold. A piece of
bread could buy a bag of gold. I wish we'd all been ready. Can
you hear the tune? Life was filled with guns and
war. There's no time to change your
mind. The sun has come and you've been left behind. A man and wife
asleep in bed. She hears a noise and turns her
head. He's gone. I wish we'd all been ready. Two men walking up a hill. One
disappears and one's left standing still. I wish we'd all been ready. There's no time to change your
mind. The sun has come and you've been left behind. There's no
time to change your mind. How could you have been so blind?
The father spoke, the demons dined. The sun has come and you've
been left behind. End of the trailer. You've been
left behind. You've been left behind. Moving song, isn't it? I'll root
in an error. Even Dr. Thomas Ice, pre-trib
rapture himself, said that has nothing to do with the rapture
in Luke 17 or Matthew 24. It has everything to do with
the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even Dr. Thomas Rice, Thomas Ice, Rice. There's some Rice people that
had a few problems with their doctrine too. But I want you
to notice here, in fact, I gotta finish this story. So in my younger
years, I'm realizing this is when I was first indoctrinated
with pre-trib rapturism. It actually predated 40 years
ago when I was in Bible college. How many of you are familiar
with the, okay, the Left Behind, you know, the modern series?
How many of you are familiar with a video that's entitled
A Thief in the Night? This is labeled in something
that I was researching here even this morning, the most popular
and end times movie ever produced with over 300 million viewers
in various languages all over the world. In this classic movie
from 1972, Patty, if I remember right, her name was Myers, I
can remember, maybe Kirk, she's an extended cousin of yours,
I don't know. But Patty disregards the prophetic biblical warnings
of the coming tribulation. Now the truth begins to unfold.
Can she escape the dramatic, haunting circumstances? Is there
a way out? The climax is riveting. One of
the most unique and widely seen motion pictures of all time,
A Thief in the Night, tells the story of Patty, a young woman
caught up in living for the present with little concern for the future.
She meets and marries a young man and her life seems great
until one morning she awakens to find her husband gone and
the radio reporting that millions of people have mysteriously disappeared.
As dramatic earth-shaking events begin to unfold around her, Patti
realizes she is living in the end times spoken in biblical
prophecy. Adventure and suspense build
to a thought-provoking climax in this powerfully gripping film. The Rapture. You've been left
behind. The next one is Distant Thunder.
The second film in the series, begun by A Thief in the Night,
A Distant Thunder, continues the story of Patti, a young woman
living in the end times referred to in biblical prophecy. This
action suspense thriller finds Patti living as a fugitive trying
to hide from the ever increasing evil around her. Relentlessly
pursued and finally captured by the forces of Unite, a United
Nations. Unite, she is given a choice.
either receive the mark or face death. The third is Image of
the Beast. The third film in the highly
acclaimed prophecy series, Image of the Beast, depicts the awesome
story of the great tribulation foretold in the Bible. The Antichrist
establishes a one-world government while a small band of fugitives
struggle to survive amid spectacular and terrifying judgments. One
of the things I remember is the heat intensifies All of a sudden
jeeps, military jeeps are just blowing up. I've watched all
four of these videos. This is my indoctrination as
a teenager. No wonder it was so hard. I had visual images in my mind
of these huge locust-like creatures, man-sized creatures, zapping
people with their huge tails. It's all in my mind. Do you understand
what they've done with this? They took the Schofield Bible,
they took Darby's writings, they took the charts of Larkin, and
they made it in a video to indoctrinate millions of people to follow
these teachings of dispensationalism. The last one is the Prodigal
Planet, a gripping action thriller depicting the stark realities
of the apocalypse. The Prodigal Planet is the fourth
chapter in Mark 4 Pictures' widely acclaimed prophecy series begun
by a thief in the night. In a world devastated by nuclear
holocaust, a small underground resistance network battles the
terrifying empire of the Antichrist. David Michaels escapes from Unite
Detention Center with a secret that could scuttle that evil
system. I remember in the end, they're
working on this computer system as they're tapping into the computer
system of Unite. And it closes by taking all of
their system and ♪ Onward, Christian soldiers ♪ Plays all over Unite's
system. And it shows that one of the
leaders of Unite, star character in the film, he's weeping at
the end as his world crashes around him. Do you understand the indoctrination
that they have done with these videos? That's exactly what it
is, it's indoctrination. Again, if you think about all
the millions Mark 4 Pictures made, 300 million people watched
that first video, Thief in the Night. That was long before Left
Behind series. Notice what Jesus challenges
us with, his disciples. It says, don't worry about your
stuff. We are so worried about stuff today. We are so focused
on accumulating stuff We are not thinking about the Lord Jesus
Christ coming. How are we going to be ready for the Lord Jesus
coming when we're worried about stuff? And then he gives a challenge,
remember Lot's wife. This goes back to Genesis 19.
Genesis 19, 26, it says, Lot's wife looked back from behind
him. Did you catch that? Lot's wife
was following behind. And it says, she looked back,
she turned back from behind Lot. Not only that, but you read in
Genesis 19, they had to hasten Lot. You would think if today
the city's gonna be destroyed, get out, flee. You'd think you'd
be in a hurry to get out. Well, Lot and his family were
so tied in with the stuff of Sodom. It was a very wealthy
city before it was destroyed. Everything I've seen in history.
So you think about, she's following behind. That's why Jesus says,
remember Lot's wife, pay attention because she became a pillar of
salt. She died in the overthrow of
Sodom and Gomorrah. It doesn't say that it was necessarily
her family that she wanted, it was the stuff that was left behind.
We're so worried about stuff, we're not focused on the Lord.
Verse 33, Jesus says, whosoever shall seek to save his life shall
lose it, and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve
it. I tell you, in that night, here's the preacher of rapture.
Oh, now I see it. I tell you, in that night there
shall be two men in one bed. That's very interesting. Two
men in one bed. Hmm, sounds like the days of
Lot, right? Sounds like our days. Increasing sodomite marriage.
By the way, it won't matter who's president. Increasing sodomite,
quote unquote, gay marriage is going to continue in the next
administration. Two men in one bed. The one shall be taken,
the other left. Can I remind you, can I ask the
question for us to think here today? Because I want for us
to think like most of the modern day Christianity is not thinking.
Who was taken in the days of Noah? The wicked were taken in
the flood. Check that out, that's what Matthew
24 says. Who was taken in the days of Lot? When Lot and his
family left, they were taken in God's judgment. Notice it
says, one is taken and the other left. Two men shall be in the
field. The one shall be taken and the
other left. And notice they're wanting to ask where. And they
answered and said unto him, where, Lord? And he said unto them,
wheresoever the body is, See, there's the battle of Armageddon. He didn't say that. He did not
say that. We keep adding to Scripture. He did not say that. Can I ask
you, are eagles only in Jerusalem today? Every once in a while,
we have an opportunity to see eagles soaring around in our
neighborhood. There must be some things they're looking for back
in these woods back here. Here's the reality of this. Jesus
was saying, I'm not telling you where. Now later on, he does
emphasize in the same context, I believe he emphasizes in relation
to AD 70. This is not the preacher of rapture. I want you to understand very
clearly that we've seen, or we've been deceived in all of these
things. Notice we have 2 Thessalonians 1. We just saw this here not
too long ago, but I want us to see this in the context. So think about the reality of
this. If you remove the passage that
we just read, not being about the rapture, when you remove
all these things that are not about the rapture, even by somebody
who is hired to defend the pre-trib rapture, then how much do you
have left in scripture that speaks of a pre-trib rapture? Zero. Oh, no, no, no, no, no,
preacher, you're wrong. 1 Thessalonians 4 into chapter
5 is the pre-trib rapture. I've asked you before when we
studied 1 Thessalonians 5, where does it say in the beginning
part of chapter 5, talk about seven-year tribulation? Oh, it
just says peace and safety, peace and safety. That's exactly what
they're gonna be saying when the coming of the Lord comes. In fact, 1 Corinthians 15 is
their other passage. It has nothing to do about a
catching away. It's about our resurrection. The emphasis is
on our resurrection. It's in the resurrection chapter.
The twinkling of eye, we're gonna be changed, we're gonna be like
Jesus Christ. It says nothing about a pre-trib rapture. There's
absolutely nothing in scripture that talks about a pre-trib rapture.
Now, I want you to see this again. I showed you this in 2 Thessalonians
in our study there, but I want you to see this. Let's look at
the context again in verse three. We are bound to thank God always
for you, brethren, as it is meet, it's fitting, appropriate, because
that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one
of you all toward each other aboundeth, so that we ourselves
glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and
faith in your persecutions and, what's the next word? Tribulations,
plural, oh, but Christians don't go through the tribulation. No,
this is tribulations that Paul says in Acts 14, we all as believers
in Christ must enter in the kingdom with much tribulation that ye
endure. Notice, enduring those trials.
Endure to the end, though be saved. Which is a manifest token
of the righteous judgment of God that ye may be counted worthy
of the kingdom of God for which ye also suffer. Oh, suffering
for the kingdom of God, that's interesting. I thought the kingdom
of God was the thousand year reign that's still in the future.
The church in Thessalonica was suffering for the kingdom of
God. I remind you what Jesus said about the kingdom of God.
Seeing it as a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation,
I've pointed out, this is the same Greek word as found in verse
four. Tribulation to them that trouble
you. Tribulation simply talks about suffering. And to you who
are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed
from heaven with his mighty angels. Oh, that sounds like the second
coming, right? Is that the second coming of the Lord Jesus or is
that the rapture? I'm asking a question. I'm expecting an
answer when I ask a question. I'm not asking a rhetorical question.
What's this talking about, the rapture or the second coming?
The second coming, right? He's going to be revealed from
heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, taking vengeance
on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our
Lord Jesus Christ. who shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory
of his power when he shall come to be glorified in his saints.
Wow, this sounds like this is all happening at the same time.
Like Jesus said in Luke 17, in that day. It's all going to happen
in the same day, not seven years apart from each other. When he
shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired
in all them that believe because our testimony among you was believed
in that day. Notice Jude 14 and 15. This is
something very interesting. I came across here this last
week. I've known this, but I've not connected these two passages
before. So here's Jude's explanation
under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, explanation of the
coming of the Lord. Now, I remind you that, Enoch,
it says here in verse 14, was the seventh from Adam. So seventh
generation from Adam. So we're talking about somebody
who lived at the beginning. Remember, he's the one who walked
with God, he was taken, he was translated to heaven, that he
should not see death. A picture of the translation,
not the rapture. Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied
of these, saying, now pay attention to this. Behold, the Lord cometh
with 10,000 of his saints. Pause, hit the pause button. We need to check something out
here. Is this when Jesus comes with us, his saints? Be careful
of your answer. Notice that statement. Behold,
the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints. You know where else
that same statement is found? In Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy 33,
verse two, talking about Mount Sinai. Let me ask you. How many
believers came with Jesus to Mount Sinai at the beginning
of the law? The saints there are angels. Did we not just see that in 2
Thessalonians 1? Here's what dispensationalism
teaches. We're raptured to heaven, that's Jesus coming for his saints.
And then we come back with Jesus to conquer this world and we're
gonna rescue Israel, all that. That's exactly what we're told.
But when you compare scripture with scripture, guess what you
find? We're in New Jerusalem. Jesus is coming back with his
angels in fiery judgment upon this world.
While we're safe and secure. Oh yeah, so we are, translation,
we are safe and secure. Where does it say, in this passage
here and others, that we come back with the Lord to conquer
this world. It's not there. That's what we've been told it
says. When you compare scripture to
scripture, 2 Thessalonians 1 that we just saw, right? Verses seven
and eight. Jesus comes back with us, is that what it said? No,
it said he comes with his angels, his mighty angels, judging this
world. And then it says here, he's coming
with 10,000 of his saints. That's the same statement that
talks about angels in Deuteronomy 33, verse two. There were no
believers coming with Jesus to Mount Sinai. Let's continue,
verse 15. following 2 Thessalonians 1,
to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are
ungodly among them all of their ungodly deeds, which they have
ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches, which ungodly
sinners have spoken against them. And he goes on to describe these
false teachers that God is going to judge. These are murmurers,
complainers, walking after their own lusts, and their mouths speak
with great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because
of advantage. It's not found there. Now I understand Jesus says we're
gonna rule and reign with Jesus. Oh no, wait a minute, we're not
a part of Israel. It doesn't all fit. It does not
fit with scripture. Jesus Christ was not a pre-tribber. Jesus Christ did not even believe
in a tribulation period. And again, you go back to Daniel
9. I keep saying this so many times. You go back to Daniel
9 and you make Daniel 9, 27 about the Antichrist, you have blaspheme
the Lord of glory. That pronoun he goes back to
Messiah in verse 26. I believe very strongly, very
strongly, this whole dispensational system is blasphemy against the
Lord Jesus. It is blasphemy. Jesus did not
believe in a pre-Trib rapture. I wanna emphasize again, Luke
17, some phrases. The same day. Verse 27, until
the day. Verse 29, the same day. Verse
30, the day. Verse 31, in that day. The Lord Jesus was emphasizing
something that people have totally missed. He is not going to receive
us to himself until he's coming to judge this world in righteousness. Lord, I pray that you'd help
us to go back to scripture for our understanding. And Lord,
I pray that you'd help us to unlearn the indoctrination that
we've had for generations now. Lord, I pray that you'd help
us to go back to what the Bible actually says instead of manmade
teaching. Lord, even as I thought about
this morning, all those video images I had in my mind that
prepared my heart to receive the teaching of dispensationalism
in Bible college. Lord, I pray that you'd help
us to understand what Jesus said and to follow what Jesus says
in Askophola. I pray in Jesus' name, amen.
