The Priest Shall Examine Him

This chapter introduces us to the laws pertaining to the priests' responsibility to discern and judge cases of leprosy. As we study this example of the priests' ability to judge between the clean and unclean, we should be asking exactly how this text applies to us as believers (all of us being priests in the New Covenant). If leprosy is a sign of the effects of sin on a person, then this text should instruct us how to evaluate and judge cases where a person's sin has become publicly known and emphasize our responsibility to stir one another up to love and good works.
