The Gate Shepherd

17

The internet is fast becoming the business highway. More and more people are doing their banking, shopping, medical online. But to do so, one must set up an account with particular websites. Personal information is recorded. In order to keep the information secure, you must supply a unique user name and a secure password. Each time you visit the website and desire to do business, you must log in through a portal-- a gate. The portal or gate is there for your protection-- to keep your private information from getting into the wrong hands. But once through the gate, you are free to roam around the website and to utilize all of the services the particular business offers. Jesus Christ, in John 10, as the Great Shepherd is also the GATE Shepherd. He is our portal. Through Him we are saved-- not just from the sin in the past, not just secure in the future, but saved in the present. In Christ, we have incredible peace, contentment, and joy-- since Jesus is the door we know that nothing can touch us unless He allows. Everything comes through Him. We are not only safe and secure in Christ, but also experience tremendous freedom and fulfillment in Christ. Jesus Christ came that we might have life, and have it abundantly! And the abundant life Jesus gives is not stifling-- it is freedom within boundaries-- and it is full, abundant living. In Jesu Christ we have everything we need!
