Amen. Amen. Good to be in house of Lord. Amen. Amen. Always kind of privileged to be able to stand and preach God's word. Amen. And I'm just thankful for Saturday night live preaching. That's a lot of places that I would have been, but I'm glad I'm in the house of God. Amen. Amen. If you have your Bibles, turn with me to Matthew chapter number 11, Matthew chapter number 11 and verse number 28. Let's all stand for the reading of God's word. Matthew chapter number 11. And verse number 28, familiar text in verse number 28. The Bible says, verse number 28, in Matthew chapter 11, come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart. And ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. With the Lord being our helper tonight, we're going to preach on, are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Let's pray. Father in heaven, Lord, we love you. God, I pray you forgive my sins. Lord, I pray you fill with your spirit and help me. We'll preach and we'll say, well, God, Lord, save. Lord, I pray you just help me, Lord. Lord, take all the nervousness out. Lord, take all those things. Lord, we need some help from the master. Lord, we come with burdened hearts and an empty place so you can fill it up. Lord, help us to get something from you. Lord, help us to get some strength and some courage and some power to go on in your walk. Lord, we love you. In Jesus' name, pray. Amen. You may be seated. Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? When I was growing up as a kid, I always heard my mom make this statement. She always said, are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, you're going to do something about it, amen? You're not just going to sit on the sideline. You're not going to sit there and complain. You're going to do something about being sick and tired. But if you're not, Uh, but if you just want to, uh, you want to have that pity party, then you're going to sit there and you're going to continue to get those pity parties and those, those slap on the shoulder and maybe some stabbed in the back saying, man, but we don't want to sit there and be discouraged. We don't want to sit there and, uh, and be defeated. Uh, the devil, he's real busy, man. He's always busy and he's always trying to tear some people down. But we have a God in heaven that's able to build us up, amen? The Bible starts off by saying, come. I like when God gives invitation, amen? If you're reading the whole chapter, chapter 11, he's talking to the people, talking to the Jewish people, and they're talking, and they're asking all these different questions, and he's talking to the people who was dealing with legalism, and dealing with all these different things, and dealing with the spiritual condition. But the Bible says, he said, come. And he didn't tell you to come after somebody. The word come also means to follow and it means, it means to follow. So if it says, come, you're coming onto somebody. Amen. The Bible says, come unto me. I'm thinking we could come to a guy that knows how to do something about our, our way and something about our spiritual condition. He said, come follow after. And he says unto me, then he says, all ye that labor. The word labor also means to be fatigued. It means to be exhausted. Tonight, my wife, she's at home. Why? Because she is tired and exhausted. So before I came here, I preached a little bit at home, amen? I told her, hey, listen, read those verses. I said, look at that verse over there in Matthew chapter 11 and verse number 28. See my wife? She's on vacation this past week. But see, even though you're on vacation, you can be more busy, brother Dennis, you can be more busy on vacation than when you are doing your normal routine. See, when you're on your normal routine, you know when you have pauses. You know when you have breaks. But see, when you're on vacation, it's almost like you're up for grabs. Amen on Monday. We started off it. I said what you want to do today. She said I don't know I said, let's go visit Christian. So he went to the hospital We I said, we don't you know, sweetheart. We only be there for a couple minutes See, I got myself in trouble right there. I put a timely on business somebody don't put time You're gonna put a timely put a window a man. I gotta learn some things for you about put a window I'm gonna say you're gonna be there for 5-10 minutes. They say okay. I'm beautiful. I was to out it make it a window so he went there and we got to talk with those guys and and they're they're a What's the way to put this? They're fatigued. They're exhausted. Why? Because you have been through labor. I've never been through labor, but I've seen my wife go through labor, and that's exhausting. If you want to be there for every step and be there for all the good things that's taking place, amen, that's a good way of putting it. All the things that's taking place with the baby and everything, that's a sight to see. It's also, uh, you know, it could be some things go on there. Amen. So things go on when you labor. So the word labor means to be fatigued and exhausted. And I've seen a look on, on Christian face. She was exhausted. I can tell she was ready for us. Uh, why don't y'all leave in a minute? I said, you know, cause we gonna stay too much longer. We don't go ahead. Yeah. I'll let you get some, some rest. See, that's what the Bible is talking about. He says, come unto me, all you that are labor and the heavy laden. The word heavy laden means to be overtaken. It means to be loaded up. Now, I don't like to be lowered up. I like my plate to be lowered up, but not my shoulders. Amen. I don't like to be wear it down. I don't like to be, uh, beat down by an enemy and beat down by myself. See, sometimes ourselves can get ourselves in trouble. We can get, we can get ourselves in trouble. The word in the Bible says labor on heavy laden, loaded up. Then he says, come up to me. All y'all are all ye that labor and heavy laden. And I will do something about chicken. He said, I will give you rest. Where rest means to refresh, means to ease. I thank the God he can give us. Rest. He can ease it up. He can take that load off of us. That's if we do something. He says, come. See, we can do something about being sick and tired and tired of being sick. We have to come. He gives us that great invitation. Now, this invitation could be physically. It also could be spiritually. When we focus on the spiritual, the physical realm of things, he said, labor on heavy laden. I will give you rest. I will refresh you on your phone when your phone gets heated up. I have something on my phone, it's a little one button, you can press it, and it refreshes it. See sometimes when we're not refreshed, we start to be stagnant. We start to be slow. Now you can tell, if you get to swiping, we all use a swipe, unless you got an iPhone and God bless you anyway, but see if you got those Android phones, you got something called swipe on there. Now if you're trying to swipe, And your phone is loaded down and it's all this junk is in it. When you start to swipe, you see your swipe go real slow. And it goes from Z down to left hand bottom. It goes up to P. And it's like a long little slow. And what's wrong with it is it's loaded up. But we need to press that refresh button. and have all that junk taken out of your phone. If you don't have that button on your phone, I encourage you to download it, because it refreshes your phone. It helps it to run smoother. But see, God, He can do something about our physical condition. He can do something about our spiritual condition. If we come unto Him, He will give us, the Bible says, rest. Rest. Refresh. To be eased. I like things that's easy, breezy. Not clever, girl, but easy, breezy. Amen? Y'all know what I'm talking about. He said, I will give you rest. But we have to come. See, the world or the enemy, he wants us to come. But when he wants us to come, it's almost like, sorry, he don't want you to come. He wants you to do. That's opposite of each other. The Lord tells you to come unto him. The world tells you to do. What do you mean by that? See, when you get around these people who are legalistic and all those different things, they tell you, you have to do this and do that. And you have to wear a certain suit. You got to wear a colored shirt, a different type of shirt. You have to do this. You got to abide by all these different sacraments and all these traditions we used to do. But the Bible says, come. So if he's telling us to come don't worry about all the other stuff Just come and come to him as you are and he will give you rest. He will give you peace He will give you ease and he will take away that that burden that's on you. You know Bible says in verse number 29. He says take Take my yoke upon you now take means to to lift or take up a way and to raise if you have been burdened down by something and have that pressure or have that burden lifted above you, you will know right away. When you come to these altars, you should leave differently. You should leave with a burden taken away. You should leave with ease on your life. But here the Bible says, take my yoke. I didn't understand the word yoke until I started making macaroni. When you make macaroni, you need something. You need eggs. Eggs contain yolk. I'm going somewhere. When it has this yolk in there, let's say it doesn't have yolk in it. When it doesn't have the yolk in there, the macaroni, the noodles, they all fall apart. So when you get that big spoon and you scoop, Ms. Gracie, all the macaroni start going all over the place. But when you got the yolk in the macaroni, and it's all in, and the eggs and all that stuff is all mixed in there, mixed in there good. When you go take the scoop, it's solid. You know how like a snowball is compact. That's what yoke does. Yoke pulls it together. Yoke gets you to stick. Now, follow me. The Bible says, take my yoke. You're taking God's yoke. You're taking his yoke upon you and learn of me. So you're not learning of the world. You're not learning from the devil. You're learning from God. You're learning from his word. The Bible says, and learn of me. The word learn means to understand. Now watch what it says. To learn and understand of me. For I am meek and lowly in heart. Now, he says meek and lowly. The word meek means to be gentle, to be humble. And lowly also means the same thing, to be humble, to be low. It says in heart. Now, if we want to learn from God, let's start off by being meek and lowly. See, when you're meek and lowly, you won't have a problem doing what he says in verse number 28. Come. He says, come unto me. But if you're not lowly, you're not meek, So you didn't have that pride upon you. So when things are going wrong in life and things are getting, when you get sick and tired of being sick and tired, you won't come to him. You come to everybody else. You start going to mellow with this person, mellow with that person, or you get to start talking to these people. You should be talking to the God almighty. You should be talking to the person that can do something about your spiritual condition and your physical condition. If you want to be, if you want to walk with him, you want to be, You don't want to be sick and tired come into him come with a low the hardcore to me car He said a shop fine rest upon your souls when I bought the word rest here means It's a different word from the first word rest. It says in this person means intermission now If you have been in school Like I've been in school and I love what it calls intermission. That's when that bell rings and you have something called four or five minute break for your next class. You see, if you was in the same class for three, four or five hours, you will get tired. You will get burdensome. All the information will be too much. But the Bible says, And you shall find rest, you shall find intermission. And then it says, for what? For your souls. See, sometimes we get tired, and we get sick, and we get fatigued. Now here, most of the time, when someone says, I'm just tired. See, most of the time, they're not talking about their physical condition. Because you can still go on and do things you do you can still go home and cook cook and clean and and swooping on stuff when they say I'm tired They're talking about their soul. They're talking about their mind and intellect. They're talking about those things. They're just tired. They're Exhausted that's what I'm saying. They're exhausted. This is unto your soul. That's what I'm all you know, they exhausted but the Bible says for my yoke is Is easy and my burden is light. See we try to take keep we try to keep your own Burdens, we try to keep your own, uh, your own steps It becomes heavy becomes burdensome, but the bible says for my yoke. See god's yoke is easy. What do you mean? See we accept jesus christ as our lord and savior That burden is taken away. We have his burden and his burden is easy. Cause all we have to do is walk and walk according to what the Bible said. Now that might seem easy. It might, well, it might seem, I don't know. It might seem easy at times, but it can get burdensome. We have to remember to keep the main things, the main thing. Who is the main thing? The main thing is Jesus. We keep our eyes and our eyes and our vision upon him. We have to worry about the rest of the things, but he won't Peter. He's walking on that water. When he was looking at Jesus, he was fine. But the moment he, took his eyes off of Jesus and started looking around at his situation. See, the situation is what makes us tired, what makes us full of burden. But when we keep our eyes on him, we don't worry about those things around us. We can go and do, we can go and witness. We can go and encourage our loved one. We can encourage the people that surround us. But the Bible said, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. The word burden also means task or service. And the word burden is light or light means easy. I like things being easy. I like when I go home with the kids and it's easy. I like when I go to church and serve God and it's easy. We don't like everything being hard and being tough and being rough. We like to do things in what we call easy mode. In the game you have easy, you have medium, and we have hard. Now when you play against Like those kids I was playing yesterday. I like the game to be easy I don't like it to be too hard because then you get Frustrated you get mad you get upset about things that are going on and remember it's just a game But see we get so caught up in a game that we want to win and sometimes when we so focused on winning We get what I call out of out of body We get out of body means that means basically to get out of character see now I had to leave miss Helen house last night Why? Because brother Steve kept beating me. Now I had a choice. I can stay there and be determined and beat him. Or I can say, man, good job, brother. You know, you the man. You did good. I didn't say that. I was, I tried to say, I tried to be meek and lowly, but I'm like, you know, you know, you're right. All right. I'll talk to you later. So I just left. Well, see, let's say, let's say verse number 30 says, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Is your burden light? Have you took, That burden which Jesus had, that yoke, that's easy. Have you took that and put it upon your life? Or are you still carrying around your burden? You're still carrying around those things. Now we can get heaven, we can get things that's burdened out in our life, or we can have Jesus remove that burden. But it all starts with the first word it says in verse number 28. Come, follow. And it's not following me. It's not following the pastor. He's a great man, but we're following after God. And we should follow hard after him. The closer you stay to God, the lighter that burden will be. Let's pray. Father in heaven, Lord, we love you. God, we thank you for your word. We're thankful for your word, and we thank you for it. Lord, God, I pray you just bless the offering, the offering. Bless the invitation, Lord. Lord, if we take up an offering, take up that too. But Lord, I pray you just do what you can do, Lord. Lord, we love you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? If you are feeling this way you need to do something about it. When we are fatigued we need a time of rest. We can get ourselves in trouble so quickly otherwise. That is why God wants us to come to Him. Bring it to Him and unload the burdens. Get your strength and health back.
