Genesis 6:1-8 - Who Were the Nephilim?

Tricky passages should not be glossed over, even if sometimes you cannot land definitively on a position.

This passage contains three tricky aspects:

1. Who were the Nephilim?
2. What does God mean that the days of man will be "120 years?"
3. What does God mean when He says He regretted creating mankind?

Or to rephrase this last question, can God change His mind?

All these questions are worth grappling with, and even questions like this can lead us to gratitude for the gospel of Christ, and to a renewed boldness to communicate His gospel in front of a wicked world, and to live holy lives before Him.
