Q2: What rule hath God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him?

A2: The word of God, which is contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him.

i. Doctrine: teaching, instruction (“didactic”)
ii. Reproof: pointing out our fault
iii. Correction: restoration to a right state; improvement of life or character
iv. Training in righteousness: state of him who is as he ought to be; the condition acceptable to God
c. Sufficient (2 Timothy 3:17)
