Growing Old Gracefully and Usefully
477 ( 283 | 194 )
David was an old man at the end of his days when he wrote Psalm 71. In it, and Psalm 72, he is giving us counsel in terms of how he faced and prepared for old age gracefully and usefully. He says: "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come." And just a little bit before that he said, "O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still," even though I am now an old person, "will declare Your wondrous deeds."
