This is Rick DeYoung with Prophecy
Today Radio. Yemen's Houthis have waded into
the war between Israel and Hamas. That's the headline. Stay tuned
for our update on the war in Israel. It's time now for Prophecy Today,
a look at current events in light of biblical prophecy. Dave Dolan,
a journalist with 30 years of experience reporting on Israel,
joins us again today. Dave, what's the latest? Well,
Rick, the main headline at present is that the country of Yemen,
the Arab country of Yemen, south of Saudi Arabia, has officially
joined the war against Israel. Their official armed forces spokesman,
a Brigadier General, issued a declaration. I'll read it to you. He says,
we are launching this operation in support of the oppressed brethren
in Palestine. He said, we've launched a significant
number of ballistic and winged missiles at Israel. And in fact,
Israel itself, the IDF, reported that earlier on Tuesday they
shot down a rocket that was a missile that was heading towards a lot
in the south of the country. This comes as fighting escalated
still further inside the Gaza Strip, heaviest clashes of the
war so far, we were told. We have Israeli tanks on three
sides of Gaza City now. They penetrated to the south
by going down the beach of the Mediterranean coast and then
positioned to the south. Clashes are intense. Israel announced
that two of its soldiers were killed in the battle so far. Two others were wounded on Monday.
The two that were killed today were in the Givati reconnaissance
unit, very elite forces, heavy in the fighting. We had more
rocket attacks on Israeli cities. Tel Aviv got pummeled at one
point, but again, the Iron Dome took out, thank God, most of
those, but it was quite a barrage. And in the north, we had more
clashes. We had more rockets from Hezbollah
during the day. And the Israeli IDF spokesman
said they took out two more terror squads, they call them, that
were operating near the border and trying to infiltrate and
do problems up there. Further north, we had more attacks
on U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq, now
around 25. So that's worrying the Israelis
as well. But the entrance of Yemen officially
indicates that possibly Hezbollah is about to get involved fully.
And we had, Rick, an announcement from Hezbollah leader Nasrallah
that he would be giving a very important speech on Friday during
Friday prayers that will be broadcast all around the world, I suppose.
in which he is expected by many to declare full war upon Israel
and start unleashing his missiles. David, how concerned should Israel
be about the entry of these Houthi rebels from Yemen into the war?
It's not so much the actual missile threat. No, it's nowhere near
the threat that the Hezbollah rockets. Much closer, of course.
I mean, Yemen is a thousand miles south of Israel. It's not, but
it indicates that Iran, another indication that they are unleashing
not just their proxy militia forces, but other governments,
other major powers in the area, and Hezbollah, of course, being
the number one. But of course, Yemeni fighters
are expected to join this gathering jihad group on the northern border
that Ayatollah Khomeini called for in his speech. And we'll
see more Iraqi volunteers and more Syrians. And it definitely
widens the war to a great degree. And of course, it will put more
pressure on Qatar and some of the other Arab countries further
north to also give at least stronger support to the Palestinians than
they're doing at present. Dave Dolan reporting for Prophecy
Today. Dave, thank you so much. You're welcome, Rick. God bless.
