The doorbell rang this morning, and when I opened the door, I was greeted by two very friendly people, Mita and Cornell. Both were dressed very nicely. Both had briefcases or satchels. The woman, Mita, in her open bag, I could see what looked like a Bible. And I knew immediately who was standing before me. representatives of the Watchtower Society, otherwise known as the Jehovah's Witnesses. I was praising God as soon as I opened the door and I saw them. I got very excited and the reason for that is just earlier this morning I was watching the most recent episode of The Dividing Line, which is a live broadcast on YouTube by Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries. and the title of today's episode was Let's Bring the Light of God's Truth to Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses in conversation, some of them fruitful, many of them not. I was welcoming another primer on the subject. Maybe Dr. White was going to share something I hadn't heard before or a new tip or something or maybe just encourage me to engage Jehovah's Witnesses in conversation. Well, I wasn't disappointed. And in today's broadcast, Dr. White showed how a Christian can utilize the Jehovah's Witnesses own scriptures and adulterated version of the Bible known as the New World Translation. How a Christian can use their own scriptures to show the Jehovah's Witness from their own texts that Jesus Christ is in fact God. And to do that, he used Psalm 102, verses 25 to 27, where the passage is quoted in Hebrews chapter one, in speaking of the Son of God. And so, in God's providence, just shortly after hearing Dr. White's teaching on the subject, within a few hours, I'm greeted at my door by two Jehovah's Witnesses. And I find God's providence amazing. So I answered the door in my bare feet. You're going to maybe hear that I'm a little out of breath. I answered the door in my bare feet, so I excused myself, ran and got my shoes. But I also used that time to go and grab my digital recorder so that I could record the conversation. And so what you're about to hear is a 10-minute conversation with Meda and Cornell, two Jehovah's Witnesses who came to my door. Sorry about that. Very glad you came by. My name is Tony, and what's your name again? Mita. Mita and... Cornell. Cornell. Good to meet you fellas. Good to meet you. And so what we were doing was just talking to our neighbors, and we know most people have their own religion, so we're not trying to solicit anyone. We're just talking to our neighbors because with so many things happening in the earth today, when you pray to God, do you think that he hears all prayers? Uh, no, I do not believe he hears all prayers. I presume you're with the Watchtower Society? Yeah. Jehovah's Witnesses? Yeah. Okay, I'm a Christian. Okay, yeah. Uh, so no, I don't believe God hears all prayers. Okay, well, I believe God hears all the prayers of his people. Yeah. Okay. Well, this is a scripture that I've been sharing with you neighbors and it's Psalm 65 in verse 2. It says, oh, hear a prayer to you. People of all sorts will come. Yeah. And so here it really helps us to see that when we think about that, he hears everyone's prayers, but we have to be specific about who we're praying to. And so what we've been doing is just sharing a thought with our neighbors and we've been offering home Bible studies. I don't know if you're familiar with those. I am. I'm very familiar. Yes. I'm, I'm very familiar with, with, uh, with your religious organization. I've done quite a bit of study on my own as I've had wonderful opportunities to communicate the gospel to people of various religious backgrounds, including your own. It's my understanding, and please correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd rather hear it from you than what I've read, but I have talked to others with the Watchtower Society, and it's my understanding that you believe that there is one Jehovah God, right? And I believe his name, of course, is Yahweh, but we need not argue over the semantics over Yahweh and Jehovah. It's my understanding that you believe that Jesus is the incarnation of Michael the Archangel Well, is that accurate? Well, we assume that he is the archangel. Now, well, at one time he was because he was the messenger for God. And so he still is. He is a king now in the heavens. And I understand that there that you also do not believe that Jesus died on the cross, per se, but that he died on the Staros estate as well. OK. I also understand that there is an anointed class and the great gathering, the great multitude as well. Can I ask you to look at some scripture in your scriptures? Sure. Can we turn to Psalm 102? Yeah. Is that a copy of the New World Translation? Yes. May I see it? Would that be all right? It's got to write even. Oh, and you have the 2013 version as well. So this is the most current. You said 102? Yeah, Psalm 102. Let me find it here. Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, Psalm 102, verses 25 to 27. And could you read that for me from... I'll turn back there as well. And thank you for allowing me to... My copy of the New World Translation is downstairs, and mine's a little older. Okay. Mine's a little older than what you have here, and so... You must have, like, the black or the maroon. Maroon. I think it's the maroon. What year was the maroon? Um... I'm not sure. Now, what did you say? That was the one... Psalm 102. That was the one we used for years until, like, what, 2013 or 14. Yeah, when we got that one. And I believe it's 25 to 27. And that's what's cross-referenced here in Hebrews as well. Okay in Hebrews chapter 1 Psalm 102 verses 25 through 27. It says long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the works of your hands They will perish but you will remain just like a garment that they will wear out Just like clothing you replace them and they will pass away And then verse 27 as well, but you are the same in your years will never end. Okay now that That passage is cross-referenced here in Hebrews chapter 1. In Hebrews chapter 1, the passage is quoted. And again, I'm reading from the New World Translation also. Beginning of verse... I'll start as far back as verse 7. Also, he says about the angels, he makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire. But about the sun, he says, God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness. You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exaltation more than your companions. And at the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain. And just like a garment, they will wear out. And you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment. And they will be changed, but you are the same. And your years will never come to an end. So it's clear in Psalm 102 that the psalmist is writing about Jehovah and that how Jehovah does not change at all. And the writer of Hebrews also quotes that passage. And in this Hebrews passage, he's speaking of the Son. He's speaking of the Son, quoting the very same passage, which clearly speaks about Jehovah as being unchanging. And so from your own text, I can see the triune nature of God. I can see that Jesus Christ is spoken of in scripture as God. And that is the great difference between us, is that while you see Jesus as a created being, and as the incarnation of Michael Archangel, the scriptures, including your own, show that Jesus is God, that Jesus is God. Not necessarily. Well, he is a God. No, he's not a God because because the word of God also in the New World Translation says that there is one God and that he shares his glory with no one. Right. So there is not a God. There are not multiple gods. There is but one God. And that God is triune. And your own scriptures show that. that the one who created everything and the one in whom there is no changing, he is immutable, is also God the Son. God is triune Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And I really thank you for coming to my door because it's given me an opportunity to communicate the truth about who Jesus is. And I do that because I love you both very much as my neighbor. And my encouragement to you is to turn from your sin. You cannot be saved by keeping the law, because none of us do. None of us can keep the Ten Commandments. None of us can do that perfectly. And if we want to try to work our way into heaven by somehow keeping the commands of God, then Jesus said in Matthew 5, 48, We are to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. But we're incapable of that. That's why we need a Savior. And God has provided only one. And it's not the incarnation of Michael the archangel. It's not a created being, merely a man named Jesus. God the Father sent His Son to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. Truly God, truly man, and without sin. He lived a life of perfection for some 33 years that neither you nor I or anyone else can live for 33 seconds. Yet even though he knew no sin, at a time appointed by Jehovah before the foundation of the world, Jesus Christ, God the Son, died a horrible bloody death he did not deserve on the Roman cross to take upon himself the punishment we rightly deserve for our sins. And if we will put our faith and our trust in Christ alone, the true Jesus, not the Jesus of the watchtower society, but the Jesus of scripture, which has been shown to you in your own scriptures. If we put our faith and our trust in him alone for our salvation, he will forgive our sin. He'll remove it as far as the east is from the west. He'll remember it no more, and we will be reconciled to the God that we've spent our entire life offending by our sin. So please, I beg of you both, with love for both of you, and again, I am so thankful you came to my door. Please, turn to Christ and live while God's giving you time. Yeah, we say that to everyone. Right, I understand that. But we can agree on everything. I'm sorry, your name again? Mita. Mita. Mita, we can agree on everything, but if we're believing in different Jesuses... And that is one of the reasons... And we do. We believe in a different Jesus, you and I. Well, evidently you do, but there's only one Jesus. But the one thing that I really would love to share with you is that with so many religions, but there's only one Bible. There has to be a truth. There is a truth, yes, and Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father but through me. The word of God says that God is true, though every man has been found to be a liar. The word of God says the Holy Spirit will convict people of sin and righteousness and judgment and lead them into all truth. Jesus said to God the Father about his people, sanctify them in truth. Your word is truth. And my dear friend, my dear neighbor, What you hold in your hand, the New World Translation, is not the truth. So turn to the truth. Turn to Christ and live while God's giving you time. You have a nice day. All right, God bless you. Thank you. I pray, I do pray sincerely that the Lord will bless you with eternal life. All right. Thank you for coming by. Well, I hope you found that conversation with Mita and Cornell, the two JWs at my door this morning, useful and encouraging. I hope it further equips you to engage Jehovah's Witnesses in conversation, and I hope it encourages you to do the same. Again, I want to thank Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries for his teaching this morning on the dividing line, showing me how to utilize Psalm 102, verses 25 to 27, along with Hebrews chapter 1, to show Jehovah's Witnesses that their own adulterated version of the Bible shows that Jesus is, in fact, God. I want to encourage you to pray for Mita and Cornell. Pray that they would come to genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that, even in the brief conversation I had with them today, that God would give them ears to hear, a mind to understand, and a heart ready to repent and believe. Only God can do that work in them. Alright, thanks for joining me and again, I hope this audio was encouraging to you. Until next time, God bless.
