Worship & the Christian Sabbath - Pt. I
Series Marks of A Strong Church
If the ten commandments are still binding upon God's people today...and if the strength of a church is intimately linked to it's obedience to God's moral law...then keeping the fourth commandment must be integral to a strong church, as much as keeping the other nine commandments.
In this first of two messages on the Christian Sabbath (a.k.a., the Lord's Day), Pastor Wagner shows that the fourth commandment was not instituted at Mt. Sinai when God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, but at the end of the week of creation. Therefore the observance of the Christian Sabbath is not a 'Jewish thing'.
Secondly, Pastor Wagner shows how the New Testament teaches not only that the 4th commandment is still in force, but that its observance was changed from the 7th day of the week to the first day by Christ Himself, "the Lord of the Sabbath."
