Gentiles Full Sons of God

Paul continues to devastate the legalists' false gospel, pointing out astounding blessings available to Gentile believers apart from law keeping for righteousness.

We are all sons by adoption, and no longer servants under the law. The desire of the Father that we should receive Him as our Father is touchingly shown by His placing in us the Spirit of Christ, His only begotten Son, Who cries out on our behalf "Abba Father!"

Every adoptive father longs for his son to treat him as his real father. How wicked are those persons who try to undermine adopted sons' love for their father!

We cannot comprehend the full love of the Father for us now, but Christ's Spirit speaks for us and makes up our deficiencies in protestations of love for the Father, until we are made like Christ one day when we see Him as He is!

Even Gentile believers are sons and not servants. How that must have chapped the Judaizers, who wanted to keep down Gentile believers as second class citizens unless they kept the law and became Jews. But Paul eviscerates their entire plea by announcing that Gentiles receive all the benefits of sons apart from the law.

The implications of our sonship are staggering: we are joint heirs with Christ, and Christ inherits everything - the world, the kingdom, and rule over all things.

And we poor Gentile believers inherit through Christ all these things as His younger brothers!

This is the gentlest, most gracious reign possible: younger brothers in the royal family of God, subject to their Prince and Savior, not as servants, but as brethren.

We had no right to obtain such glory, but it is all of God's grace and goodness to us because He loves us forever!
