But in John chapter 3, we're looking at the difference between eternal and everlasting. Like I said, we've gone over this, I've covered these things before, and so this isn't anything new, but each time that I go over these types of things, I have somebody come to me and say, wow, that was amazing, I've never heard that before. And it's review, you know. And I don't say that as though, like, oh I finally convinced them or whatever. But no, it was that flesh and blood was teaching them before. And when flesh and blood teaches you something, you learn it for that day. And it might be stuck in your memory, but you don't understand it. There's no understanding in those things. But when God himself is the one that steps in and begins instructing you and begins showing you these things, that's when that understanding comes and that's when it'll just click. It'll all just kind of fall right into place. John chapter 3. And so looking at the difference between everlasting and eternal, this is an important thing to grasp and to get a good understanding on because this will transfer further in your studies. As you're studying through the Word of God, you're going to find things where it's very It's very important, the difference between something that's everlasting and something that's eternal. Dealing with the Godhead, dealing with the way that he works in the affairs of mankind and the way that he affects people and what he does in a person. Even there in Hebrews chapter nine, where it talks about that Jesus, speaking of Jesus, he said, he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. When we think of eternal, it isn't just that eternal future that time is no more and it's just that. It is referring to a thing that has no beginning and no end. Eternal redemption. means that there is no starting point and there is no finish point. It is eternal. It is completely separate from time, completely separate from all of these other things. And so, looking at eternal redemption, that is a redemption that you are now placed in to where you never had a history of sin. In God's eyes, that eternal redemption means that you never were not born again. which is something that is very hard for us to grasp because we are in time. We have a finite mind and we are talking about the infinite. And so in regards to eternal and everlasting, look at John 3 and verse 15. It says this, It says, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And again, we've preached through this, we've gone through these things before, looking at that eternal life, that eternal life is Jesus Christ, right? It is that thing in his Son, that everlasting life. When something is everlasting, it is going to last ever. Okay? It is going to last forever, if we could say it in a way that would maybe click in our minds a little bit better. But it had a beginning point. Now there's places where you'll see where something is spoken of from everlasting to everlasting. But what it is, is it's speaking of something that has a reference point. Okay? I'll draw on the board here just real quick. So eternity is this. No beginning, no end, it's just when you think of geometry, a ray, okay? It has no point, what is it? Line, okay, what's a ray? It has the two dots. So that would be everlasting. Okay, very good, thank you. So this is a line. It goes on for eternity, for infinity, never ends, okay? There's never an ending to that thing, okay? A ray, thank you for that instruction, has that starting point and then goes forever. Something that is from everlasting to everlasting is a ray that goes in two directions. But because there is a point of reference, that is what makes it everlasting. In relation to life, everlasting life, That is when your new life in Christ began. It's speaking of that new life in Christ. And when that everlasting life began, it had a starting point if you're born of God. If you're not born of God, you don't have that everlasting life. You don't have eternal life. What you have is eternal death. You have everlasting death, and that's another thing we'll get into. But regardless of all this, this is just introduction here to get our minds wrapped around this thing that Something that is everlasting has a point of reference. You are in time and something that is from everlasting to everlasting. From that point in time, you're looking back in time forever. And from that point in time, you're looking forward in time forever. Okay, does that make sense? Whereas eternal is outside of time. It has no beginning, it has no end, it has no point in which you are there where that thing started or that, you know, has entered into that thing. When something is eternal, it's referring to God. God is the only thing that is eternal. And so when that everlasting, or that eternal life spoken of in John 3, 15, that is speaking of Jesus Christ himself, and I'm going to prove that to you in 1 John 5. Go to 1 John 5, and then we're going to jump into what we're actually going to be studying today, now that we've laid this foundation of eternal and everlasting. Verse John 5, verse 11 says this, and this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Okay? Go over to verse 20. And we know that the Son of God is come. All right? Present tense. Listen, there's a difference between is and has, or did. Okay? Now, you have come to the church. We could say this, Cameron has come to this gym. What are we talking about right now? Or are we talking about some point in the past where he has come? Are we talking about when he came and then he's just stayed in this gym from that point forward? When you talk about that Cameron has come into this gym, it's very vague in time frame. But the wording of the King James Bible is so perfect that I could say Cameron is come into this gym, and you know I'm talking about right now. Okay? Is come, present tense, absolute right now. Not a time in the past, not a time that he came at one point, or am I talking about this time, or one of the other times that he's come into this gym, no. Cameron is come into the gym. It means right now. So with that in mind, look at this, and we know that the Son of God is come. Now we could go into that thing, this is totally outside of the realm of what I'm going to be teaching, but when you look at that thing that, speaking of the Antichrist, hold on, look at chapter four, verse two, just real quick. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. Every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God, and this is that spirit of Antichrist. Even to change that word to has, though it could mean present tense, it puts a vague realm in there. There's no black and white. There's no clarity. But Jesus Christ is coming to flesh. Do you know what that means? That from the point where He came in the flesh, He is still, present tense, today, in that flesh. You know where he is? Seated at the right hand of the Father, because his physical mortal body resurrected, okay? And he is seated at the right hand of the Father, ever making intercession for us. And so with that, here we're talking about Jesus Christ, back in 1 John 5, 20. It says, and we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and that we are in him that is true, even in his Son, Jesus Christ, And then speaking of Jesus Christ, it says, this is the true God and eternal life. All right? So Jesus Christ is eternal life. So in John 3, verse 15, whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. That eternal life is speaking of Jesus himself. Okay? And then we looked at that last week in dealing with that new man and that seed that remained within him, and that is that eternal life. But today what we're going to be looking at, now we've again laid that foundation of eternal and everlasting. We have an understanding of that. Is that a little bit clearer to see the difference between those two things? Okay. We're going to look at the difference between eternal fire and everlasting fire. It's been a long time since we've gone over these things, and I want to run through some of this. Eternal fire. There is one place in your Bible where that's used, and that's in Jude. So turn there. We're going to look at verse 7. I have it written down as Jude 1, 7, and so there it is. It's talking about this, about judgment, okay? It says, even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Now, what do we know about what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? What do we know about that? Fire. Fire and brimstone. Absolutely destroyed it. Absolutely. I mean, there was nothing left. Fire and brimstone came down from heaven. Jude tells us that that was eternal fire that did that. Okay? Now, for it to be eternal fire, with what we learned about eternal, where did it have to come from? God. Okay? With that in mind, let's go to Genesis chapter 19, and we're going to look at that. Genesis chapter 19, we're going to look at verse 24. For the sake of time, we're only going to read verse 24. We're familiar enough with the account. If you're not, you can read 19 and get the whole understanding. Genesis 19.24 says, then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord, where? Out of heaven. Okay? Now here shows at least the duplicity of God. Now, the reason I say that is because there is that argument that the Jews will use that we are a polytheistic God because we speak of three, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. They only see Jehovah. They don't see the triune Godhead. And the reason is because the Spirit of God as the Holy Ghost, the person of the Holy Ghost, is working behind the scenes. They cannot even fathom that God himself would have a son except that in Proverbs, it says, what is his name? In Proverbs 31, I think it is, what is his name and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Okay, and so you put all those pieces together, there is that. But here, this is the Lord in heaven, being called upon by the Lord down on earth, and the account of the story shows that, to rain down fire from the Lord in heaven down upon earth, all right? And so with that, that's just barely laying a scratch across that surface there, but this is the fire that came down from heaven from the presence of the Lord, all right? It came out of heaven. And so this is eternal fire. So the first thing that we learn about eternal fire is that it comes from God. It is a fire that was never kindled. For us to have fire here on earth, there had to be a starting point for that fire to kindle. Now our fires, when we start them, they can just die out and they'll just go out. All right? And we're going to get into some of that here in just a second. But we're going to look at some other places where it speaks of that fire that came down from heaven. And I don't think this is every single place. This isn't every place that it's used, but this is a few places where it's spoken of where that fire came from the Lord out of heaven and did something on earth. Okay? So Sodom and Gomorrah being one of them, spoken of in Jude 1, 7, and then Genesis 19, 24. Go to Leviticus chapter 9 now. A couple places here in Leviticus that speak of this. Leviticus 9, and I guess look at verse 24. Yes. Okay, so they're getting ready for all of this, the sacrifices, and they're getting ready to do those first sacrifices and all that. God's given the instruction, given the laws concerning those sacrifices and everything, okay? Well, I guess start in verse 22. And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people and blessed them and came down from offering the sin offering. and the burnt offering and peace offerings. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation and came out and blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the people." And it says here in verse 24 of Leviticus 9, "'And there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat, which when all the people saw, they shouted and fell on their faces.'" Okay, so here we learned from Jude that the fire that came down upon Sodom and Gomorrah was eternal fire. And now we went to Genesis and saw that in Genesis that eternal fire is spoken of as being fire that came out of heaven, came from the presence of the Lord. Here in Leviticus, we see that when that fire, it says, there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed the altar. So here again is eternal fire coming from before the Lord and consuming the altar, consuming that burnt offering, consuming all of that. Now, since that fire was kindled, From that point forward, it was to never go out. God gave the fire from heaven as pure, holy, absolutely perfect fire from eternity past, out of heaven, and ignited that fire on that altar. That was to be a continual burning. It was to never go out. It kindled an everlasting fire. All right, now follow this, go to Leviticus chapter six. Look at verse 12. It says this, And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it, it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it, and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. The fire shall never be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out. And the way that works is just like what we do here. Either you know somebody that burns wood through the winter for heat, or you do yourself, you know you can start a fire about this time and keep the coals going until spring. You can keep that same fire burning throughout the entire winter. Oftentimes, you know, the fire goes out and you've got to kindle it up again. But this fire was to never go out. The priests, part of their daily office administration was to keep wood on that fire to keep it burning. When they picked up the altar and they were called by God to assemble in the wilderness and pick everything up and go, they were to carry that fire with them. This is nothing that should be strange to us in our minds at least, because fire was a very important commodity with the pioneers, with Indians, and all of that. And in survival situations, even today, they'll teach you how to make a little stove, a little portable stove out of kindling and various things that that fire that you started at one point will just smolder in there. And so that you can carry it with you to the next place where you're camping, and you can get that coal out, and you can Blow on it and get it blowing hot again and start another fire Okay, but it's the same fire that carries through and that's the same idea with this that that fire which came from heaven Ignited upon that altar we read that in Leviticus 9 where it actually happened He's still giving the instruction on it here in Leviticus 6, but that fire was to never go out Which then makes you think about another fire that was kindled in the wrath of God. That's the fires of hell and That altar pictures those fires. Think of this. Was the fire in hell always burning? Was hell always, from eternity past, a thing? No, it wasn't. It was created. It was a created thing. It was created for the devil and his angels. And so with that in mind, what kindled those fires? We're going to see here in just a bit. It is an everlasting fire. It's an everlasting burning. Okay? And that altar, burning with fire, is a picture of the fires of hell. Wherein you again see the soul, being pictured in the inward parts, being offered out of that animal on that everlasting burning altar. Again showing the offering of the soul of Jesus Christ as a sin offering. Okay? And so it is not a far stretch. It actually fully fits within the realm of the law perfectly. And honestly, without that, it does leave some things wanting. Okay? There are things that are lacking if the soul of Jesus Christ was not made an offering for sin. All right? So with that, it's just a little bit more understanding there. Let's go to another couple places. I don't know if we're going to go to all of them just for sake of time, but we'll see. Go to Numbers chapter 11. Because there's some other things that I wanna bring out here too. Numbers 11. Oh, let's see. I guess let's just start right at verse one. It says this, and when the people complained, it displeased the Lord. And the Lord heard it and his anger was kindled. Now, you kindle a fire. Okay? When your anger is kindled, there's a fuel and there's a catalyst. Okay? Something that is going to spark that fuel. Alright, so think about that, and of course there has to be the tetrahedron. It has to have all three. It has to have heat, oxygen, and fuel. You take out one of those three, and the fire is going to go out. Okay? That's just how fire works. But you have to have at least a spark, and you have to have some sort of heat, and you have to have a fuel in order for that thing to burn. And the Lord's anger was kindled. All right, so from there, doctrinally, you can dive into this. We're not going to go into it right now. But you can dive into this and see what the fuel was that kindled that fire. And you can see what the wood was that gave that, that fuel, okay? And what sparked it. So, look at this. The Lord heard it, and His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burnt among them and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. The people cried unto Moses, and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched. And so this is another place where we see that fire coming from before the Lord. This time, it burned among the people. It consumed the people. That's eternal fire. They literally were experiencing the same fire that is burning in hell on earth. Think about that. Okay? And we'll continue on. Go to Numbers 16. Numbers chapter 16. This is the rebellion of Korah and everything that went on there, and they had the 250 men with their censers, and they were to go out, and they were offering this incense and all of that. But if you go to Numbers 16.35, It says this, well, you know, the ground opened up and took Korah and his house and all of them and it swallowed them up and they went alive into the pit. All right, so literally the ground cleaved asunder and they went alive down into hell. And then it closed up over top of them. And this is where you understand where Jesus says, fear not those which can destroy the body, but rather fear him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell. And so here we see bodies going into hell. Physical bodies. Yeah. Those people would have had to have watched their flesh melt away from their soul. Yes. Wow. Look at this, verse 35. Now look at verse 34. All right, so again, the fire of judgment, the holiness of God in wrath and judgment upon sin came down from before the Lord and consumed those 250 men. All right, again, that's an eternal fire. And it goes on from there, but we won't continue. Again, just for the sake of time, go to 1 Chronicles 21. I'm just going to kind of work our way through a couple of these. 1 Chronicles 21. This is where David, he was stirred up to number the people, okay? The reasoning and doctrine behind that, we're not gonna get into, maybe we will at another time, I think we have in the past, but with this, God gave him a choice as to what to do, what punishment you're gonna take, and he goes ahead and he says, I'll go in the hand of the Lord, because he's merciful, all right? But he's there at the threshing floor of Ornan, and he's gonna buy that threshing floor, and he's gonna make the sacrifice there, and all of that, and it's eventually where the temple is built. But look at verse 24. It says, And King David said to Ornan, Nay, but I will verily buy it for the full price, for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without cost. And David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight. And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the Lord. And he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering. Okay, again, David offers this thing as a burnt offering, a peace offering. And he called upon the name of the Lord and got delivered, but his answer was fire. His answer was eternal fire consuming that offering. And this is what happened. And what you saw there in Leviticus, in Leviticus 9, where the fire consumed the offering and the people hollered and screamed and fell on their faces, it's that same exact fire that fell here. It's eternal fire from the presence of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 7 is, I'm just gonna, we're not gonna turn to those, again, just for the sake of time, because I wanna get into some of the everlasting fire. But if you want, you can jot these down. In 2 Chronicles 7, one, fire comes from heaven and consumes the offerings that Solomon is offering, okay? And brings that fire down to kindle that altar burning. In 1 Kings 18.38, this is where Elijah calls down fire and it consumes the altar and all the water and the barrels of water that were poured on that offering and everything. He calls down fire from God because the prophets of Baal couldn't. They were cutting themselves and he was all snarky with them and said, well, maybe Baal's a god and he's just off wandering or maybe he sleeps, maybe you need to be louder about it. Between him and Micaiah, I tell you what, There's times, I think, where the man of God is perfectly right to be sarcastic with the forces of evil, okay? It's got to be led by God. Us in our carnality, we love to be sarcastic all the time, so we've got to be careful with that, all right? But regardless of all of that. But a fire came down from heaven and consumed that offering. Second Kings 1.10 and continuing, this is where there was the prophet of God, I can't remember exactly which one it was, we could turn to it, we won't take the time, but he came down and... He had been called for by the king, and he says, I'm not going to go. And then fire comes down out of heaven and consumes the 50 men and the captain and the host, and then the next 50 are sent, and the next 50 are sent. You remember that time. But just look that up in 2 Kings 1, and you'll see all of that played out. And so those are the places where there is fire that comes from heaven and consumes something on earth. It is an eternal fire that never had a kindling point. It is just there. It's God's fire. What you eventually see is that every time that fire is manifested on earth, it speaks of the glory of God. Okay? The glory of God is spoken of. People are overcome by the glory of God. And so what that is, that fire that's burning, is the glory of God. The Bible says that our God is a consuming fire. Okay? So that fire is eternal. It is. God. Just as much as the blood of Jesus Christ is God's blood and is eternal, that fire is eternal. It's an eternal fire, eternal flame. And so it never had a beginning, never had an end. Now everlasting is a little bit different. It's a different shift. Let's go to 2 Thessalonians. We're going to look at 2 Thessalonians 1, right before 1 and 2 Timothy. Most of our preaching lately has been out of 2 Thessalonians 2, but we're going to go into... That is when we go to 2 Thessalonians. But 2 Thessalonians 1, let's start right at verse 6. Says this, seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you. And to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power. Now, what did we just see about that which comes from the presence of the Lord that destroys? It's fire. That everlasting destruction is speaking of the fire that comes from the presence of the Lord. And we again see here tied with it and from the glory of His power. To see the glory of the Lord is to see eternal fire. And it depends on where you stand with God, what you will perceive that fire as. You'll either see it as a consuming fire destroying and burning and destroying everything that you know. It's an evil thing. Or you will see it as a blessing and mercy from God that He has accepted that sacrifice. Those are the two ways you saw it, the way you saw it in the Old Testament there. And even in Jude, it was judgment from God. So when you see that consuming fire, when you see that destruction from the Lord, even in Job, that sparks in my memory with Job, it says, I've received that which I was afraid of, okay? The Lord has shown him that, and that which he was afraid of has happened. What he was afraid of was destruction from God. That's what he feared. He feared destruction from God, and God brought that upon him. It was for a purpose. It was to get him to the point where he could see that God is everything and that we are nothing. That's the key. It's all Him. It's all for His glory. It's all for His honor. You know, we're to even... Glorify God, the phrase glorify God is used seven times in your Bible. And when that stands out, when that happens, I always take note of it. There is something there. I haven't studied through them all. But one thing that we are supposed to do is to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's. speaking to born again believers, okay? If you're born again, you're to glorify God in your body. That means your flesh, your entire being, what you have that is sitting here, in my case, standing here in this gym, that is to be that which brings glory to God, right down to your feet. Did you know your feet are supposed to glorify God? Your hands, what you do with your hands is supposed to glorify God. Your eyeballs, whatever you do with your eyeballs are supposed to glorify God. Your privy member is even supposed to glorify God. Think about that the next time you look at pornography. All of it is supposed to bring glory to God. And our God is a consuming fire. Just consider those things. Now, let's carry on. This is a fire. These are everlasting fires that are kindled, but never go out. Let's go to Isaiah 33. There is a fire that is going to be kindled that is never going to go out. And it's a lake. Okay? We're going to see a couple of these references to that. Isaiah 33. Oh, let's see. I have verse 14 written here, but I want to see if that's where we need to start. Let's look at verse 13. Yeah, for the sake of time, we'll just look at verse 13. You could read the whole thing and it would give you more clarity on it, but just for the sake of time, we'll continue on. Verse 13, here, ye that are far off what I have done, and ye that are near, acknowledge my might. The sinners in Zion are afraid. Fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?" Okay, everlasting burnings. This is a burning that has been ignited. This is a burning that is sparked. This is something that has ignited and will never go out. It is pictured in that fire on that altar because it was to be a burning throughout the generations. The priests were always to keep that thing. The fire was never supposed to go out. I want you to go now though to Isaiah 66. Isaiah 66, let's see, verse 23, okay? Well, verse 23 says, it'll give you the timeframe of context of this. We know about the new heavens and new earth from Revelation, right? From the book of Revelation. Isaiah 66 lines up perfectly with the book of Revelation. Watch this, for as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. And so there you understand, once we are in eternity, there's still time. From one new moon to another, that's a 28-day cycle. From one Sabbath to another, that's a seven-day cycle. There's still time in eternity, all right? So our concept of heaven and what happens after we die is so skewed. It's so skewed. We think that once we die, we either go to hell for eternity or we go to heaven for eternity and we're up there harping on something. That's the common understanding of those things, all right? But hell is gonna get cast into the lake of fire. There will be a moment of reprieve from the fire of the glory of God in hell when you stand before Jesus Christ, but it's not a moment of reprieve. It is infinitely worse than what you just experienced for however long you were in hell, because now you are standing before the burning righteous glory of Jesus Christ with nothing to hide behind. Nothing to hide from nothing to hide yourself or to excuse yourself or or to explain to God or nothing You're gonna bow to your knees and he's gonna cast you into the lake of fire. He's gonna be say depart from me I never knew you either work iniquity. I'm not saying this so that you'd be afraid of that fire I'm saying this that you'd be afraid of the one who has the fire who is the fire? Fear God That's what I'm saying. Well, look at this All flesh shall come to worship before me, saith the Lord. And then it says this in verse 24 of Isaiah 66. And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me. Now, consider this, where in time is this? Knowing what you know of eschatology, and you know, Brother Dale's taken us through those things, and we haven't gotten this far yet, but what you know and understand of that stuff, that new heaven and new earth is after that white throne judgment, okay? After that judgment bar where those that are gonna say, Lord, Lord, and he says, department from me, I never knew you, into everlasting judgment, and he casts them into the lake of fire and brimstone, and their smoke goeth up and sendeth up forever and ever, okay? That is the only place on earth where transgressors are. Okay, that's the only place on earth where the transgressors are. Okay, and I could take you, Isaiah 34.10 tells you that it is a physical location on earth. Idumia, I think is how it's pronounced? Yep, if you want to jot that down, Isaiah 34.10. But that fire is kindled on earth, okay? This is after the white throne judgment. And now the new heaven and new earth are there. And all those that are the people of God, it says all flesh, all flesh shall come to worship before me, saith the Lord. All those who were not cast in the lake of fire are now on the earth, ourselves included. We have a new body at this point, okay? And so we'll go up and we'll worship before the Lord. And then once we go up and worship before the Lord, every Sabbath and every new moon, we will go and we will go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me. We will go and look upon the lake of fire every Sabbath and every new moon. Look at this. It says, "...for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched." A fire that is never quenched is an everlasting fire. "...and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." And the reason why we will be able to look upon those that have transgressed against God, and it'll be an abhorring to us, is because we will no longer have the carnal mind to blind us. And what we will see is God's righteous judgment against sin, against transgression, against rebellion. We're going to look at that. And we will fall down on our faces because it is the glory of God burning in that fire. And we're going to say, thanks be to God. We're going to glorify God in that. We're not going to remember them as Bill, our neighbor, or as Aunt Sally. We're not going to remember them as such. We're going to remember them by the things which they had done on the earth. It's what God says. That's how you'll be remembered. You don't have a name written down. That rich man, we will see him with our own eyes, and we will know him as the rich man that fared sumptuously every day. We will look upon Bob, our neighbor, and we'll see him as a thief and a liar. And we will look upon Aunt Sally and we'll see her as a whore and an adulteress. That's how we'll know them. We'll see all the wickedness there being consumed in the glory of God, and it'll never go out. And we will give praise to the glory of God. It's hard to understand now, because we have the carnal flesh, we have our carnal mind, we have that, okay? But understand, without that there, you will see perfectly just as God sees. And you will see sin exactly as God sees it. You'll see His righteousness in it, right. Exactly. Now, let's go a little bit further onto this. We talked about the lake of fire. Go to Matthew chapter 18. Matthew 18, let's see here. I guess start at verse seven. Woe unto the world because of offenses, for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh. And I believe he's talking about Judas Iscariot there, that man. Wherefore, if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off and cast them from thee. It's better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. Now, when do you know of somebody that's cast into everlasting fire? That white throne judgment. depart from me and I never knew you." They're cast into that everlasting fire, okay? That fire that is kindled and never goes out. Verse nine, and if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee. It's better for thee to enter into life with one eye rather than having two eyes to be cast into hellfire. Same fire, two different locations spoken of, but when this event happens, they'll be one. Because it says death and hell are emptied out. and death and hell are cast into that lake of fire. And so go to now Matthew 25. Shows us where that fire came from. Matthew 25 and I guess verse 41. We'll just read this one verse here. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Okay, it shows you what that fire was prepared for. It's prepared for the devil and his angels. The devil and all those devils that are spoken of throughout the entirety of the Bible. That one third of the angels that fell with Satan when Lucifer rose up and had those blasphemous I wills. And it's interesting, Satan says, I will. God says, I am. Then he says, I will. But when you look at this here, that everlasting fire, that thing that is kindled and is never gonna go out, time and time again, we see where those that rebel against God are cast there. That is what is awaiting. And again, I'm not trying to scare you. Those of you who are lost or seeking, I'm not trying to scare you with that everlasting fire. What I'm trying to do is to show you the holiness of Jesus Christ and that He is the one that you ought to fear. Because that fire came out from the presence of the Lord. Our God is a consuming fire. This consuming fire is an everlasting burning that will never go out. It wasn't prepared for you, but that's where you're headed because you linked arms with Satan and you rebelled against the Most High God. And so this is the second death. Go to now, I guess, Deuteronomy 32, and that'll kind of wrap this up a little bit. Deuteronomy 32. This shows us where the fire of hell started, where that lake of fire is kindled, and all of that. Deuteronomy 32. Let's read verse 20 and go down from there. And he said, And again, if you're looking for more understanding on the word froward, we've talked about being to and fro, and when you are toward God, you're facing God, you're aligned with God, you're inclined toward God, When you're froward, you're facing away from God, you will not turn your neck, because you're stiff-necked, you're hard-hearted, you won't bend, you won't yield, you will not look God in the face. And it says this, they are froward generation children in whom is no faith. Someone who is froward has no faith. Okay? I'm going to talk to Mr. Batt about that because we had been discussing this and we've been just kind of chewing on that and wondering, okay, can a Christian be froward? Can we be froward in our heart? But if you have the faith of Christ, you can't be froward because someone who is froward has no faith. Okay? But if you do not have the faith of Christ, you are froward. Yeah. to be a Christian and be a thrower, wouldn't that kind of be blasphemy? It would be. It would be so contrary to the new man within you. And again, keep that in mind though, that your flesh is still capable of everything that your old man made it do before. The old man is dead, crucified. But your flesh learned an awful lot from that old man. And that carnal mind misses that old man. Okay? And if you yield to your flesh, you're going to be living in such a way that you're heading towards being froward. But if you have the faith of Christ in you, you can never be froward again. That's what I see this here. Now, I'll say that. I'm not going to say it 100% dogmatically, because I haven't studied that out fully, that concept. But that verse right there kind of shows me that. Well, let's keep going. That was just an aside. Right, if you're the new... You can't, no. Yeah, you've turned. Yep, that's good. So then, in light of that, if you find and God proves to you that you are forward, what does that tell you about yourself? That you need the new birth. You have a profession of faith, but you do not have a possession of faith. Faith has never come to you. Yeah. It would almost seem as much. He's going to consume the entirety of the earth with fire. It's going to be destroyed with fire. It's going to be burned up. All of these things are going to be burned up. Everything we've ever worked for is going to be burned up. Well, being it's an everlasting fire, it can't be quenched. It would almost have to be transferred. It's going to go over in. Right. But because it was kindled by an eternal flame, it is an everlasting burning. It'll burn forever. So it is completely a part. It's completely separate from what we have here in this mortal earth. Okay. It is an eternal flame, but it's an everlasting burning. It's an everlasting fire. Okay. And so with that, it'll carry over, but it's still that everlasting fire. Yeah. I see where you're going with that though. Yep. Yep. Well, let's look at this though. We'll continue on verse 21. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. And I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. And Paul tells us in Romans chapter 10, that's the Gentiles. He's speaking of the Gentiles there, right? The purpose is, and even the only purpose that we have been grafted in is to provoke his own people to jealousy. So if we think that we're something because we've been grafted in and hey, I'm now, that's nothing. That is nothing. Honestly, looking at this and with that concept in mind, thinking that the church has replaced Israel as God's chosen people and that God hates Israel, that's just foolishness. That's folly. So with that, look at this, verse 22. For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains." Okay? That fire that burns to the lowest hell is kindled. It has set on fire the foundations of the mountains, and that's why the mountains burn. That's why Mount St. Helens and Mount Vesuvius and all these other volcanoes around that ring of fire and all over the earth. That's why there's lava that flows in rivers that comes out of Hawaii. I mean, all over the earth, the foundations of the mountains are on fire. Let's go to Jonah. Thank you, Lord. That's good. All right. We go to Jonah quick. This is just something that the Lord just gave me. If we can find Jonah quick. There it is. Jonah chapter 2. Remember what you just read about setting on fire the foundations of the mountains. Jonah chapter 2, verse 1. Jonah prayed unto the Lord, his God, out of the fish's belly and said, and then he starts prophesying. Jonah 2 is right after Obadiah, Amos, Joel, Hosea. Okay, going backwards. So you find Hosea. Hosea is right after Daniel. Alright. I'm just gonna start reading for sake of time. Then we're gonna be done. Now, Jonah's not in hell. We know that. He's in the fish's belly. It just said that. This is the Spirit of Christ, according to 1 Peter 1.11, 10 and 11, this is the Spirit of Christ in Jonah prophesying of the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. Okay? Out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. What did we just hear about the anger of the Lord kindled and burning down to the lowest hell? Okay? That's where Jesus is. Watch this. For thou hast cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas, and the floods come past me about. All thy billows and thy waves passed over me. Then said I, I am cast out of thy sight, yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. There is the faith of Christ. Though he was cast out of the sight of God, and he was in the lowest hell, he knew he was going to look toward that holy temple again. He says, I will look toward thy holy temple. The waters come past me about, even to the soul. The depth closed me round about. The weeds were wrapped about my head." And then, funny, again, this can't be Jonah, because whales, they don't eat seaweed. They eat krill. Okay? So there would not be weeds. It's not like in Pinocchio, where Pinocchio's in the belly of that big thing, and there's seaweed everywhere, and the ship, and all of that. Okay? It was the thorns wrapped around Christ's head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with her bars was about me forever. Yet hast thou brought my life up from corruption, O Lord my God." Now, if he's at the bottoms of the mountains, and we just saw in Deuteronomy 32 that the bottoms of the mountains were set on fire of hell and consumed in that. Jesus Christ is in fire. And he's at the bottoms of the mountains. Again, tying that together. I'd never tied that together before, and I thank the Lord for it. But that's all I had. That's it. We're actually done. So hopefully this helped a little bit. Hopefully it maybe sparked a little something in you. It kindled a fire. And you're gonna be able to go ahead and study these things out a little bit more. Theron, why don't you close us in prayer?
