breathing problem and the baby
when it lays down it can't breathe, when it feeds it can't breathe
and the baby Cole also she thinks he has something wrong with his
fist, clenched fist, you know something like that so she thinks
he might have cystic fibrosis. cerebral palsy or something,
but I'm praying that's not true. I'm praying that's not true.
But also the little one, Hazel, she broke her arm right up here,
all the way broke, snapped up by the shoulder. So you talk
about the family problems. Amen. And then Lauren had to
start back up to work on Friday. So, you know, I can go on and
on when I talk to them almost every day. And God bless her.
She's strong, man. She's still going. I think everyone
else would have probably ran off into the river or something.
But please pay attention to the message this morning because
it's the word of God chapter 3 in Genesis. Are you there?
It says now now I like them now think about God says verse 1
It says now and I want you to think about God said this God
put that that now now the serpent Now this is what it's all about,
you know in the first chapter 1 and chapter 2 do we got in
the beginning God? Oh Right? And you got in the
beginning God what? Created. And then we see God
created everything and he said it was good. And then he created
man and everything in it. He said man it's very good. Now
anytime anything's ever good, anytime anything's ever really
good, you know now this devil. Now the serpent wants to ruin
everything. Please get that through your
head. In the beginning of the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures,
God is giving us and telling us exactly what happened, exactly
how it's happening, exactly what's going to happen. So please pay
attention to when it says, now the serpent was more subtle than
any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. So right
off the bat, the devil, the serpent, is what? He's subtle. Hello. Hello. Anybody listening? He's
subtle. What does that mean to you? You
ought to mean something to you. I don't know. I mean, you got
to think the devil's crafty. He's sneaky. He's subtle. You're
not going to know he's there. You're not going to know it's
him. You're not going to know. You're not going to know. You're
not going to understand and realize that it's Satan is trying to
destroy what is good in your life. Please pay attention. And it says that the Lord God
had made, and he said unto the woman, yeah, hath God said. Now, we talked about this last
week, and I'm not gonna rehash it, but this is what he wants
to do. He wants to cause confusion. He wants to cause doubt in your
mind or heart, what did God say? Please can, how simple, to me,
it's like, my eyes have been opened, okay? I see clearly,
but for some reason, The regular church folks aren't getting it.
They're seeing dimly. They're seeing a little bit.
Yeah, yeah, the devil, but they're not taking it seriously. And
you got to take it seriously. We got to wake up. We got to
stop sleeping and realize that this is real. It's real life.
My life is good except for where the devil messes it up. Our church
is good except for where the devil messes people up. Our America's
good, except for where the devil and sin messes it up. You know
what I'm saying? Like, if we can get him out of here, and
I don't mean, you know what I mean, one day he will be, but I mean
out of my life at least, out of my wife's and family's life,
out of the church life, wouldn't life be so much better? So let's
do that. Look what he said. He wants to cause confusion on
the word of God. In verse two, it says, and the
woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the
trees of the garden. But the fruit of the tree, which
is in the midst of the garden, God has said, you shall not eat
of it, neither shall you touch it. What's wrong? What's wrong
with that verse? What's wrong with that? With that? Okay, brother
John. Thank you, sir. Now, see, that's the problem
is she doesn't know exactly what God said, so she's adding to
what God said. She's adding to God's law. She's
adding to God's rules. You know what I'm saying? God
has given us some rules, right? Amen? Are the rules for him or
are they for us? They're for us. He doesn't need
rules, does he? No, we need some rules. Is it for our benefit
or for our hurt? It's for our benefit. For our
children's benefit. For our finances. For everything. For our health. Everything God
gives the rules for a reason, to help us. But here she doesn't
understand or she doesn't know the word of God like she ought
to know the word of God. And so she makes it harder. And
it's that's the worst thing you can do. See, there's there's
two sides of every coin and there's two sides of every every coin.
salvation walk with the Lord. One is on the left side, one
is on the right side. And our road and our path is
narrow, amen? It's a narrow, straight path
to Jesus. Can I get an amen? But sometimes
we go to the left, get more liberal, and we fall into a ditch. And
sometimes we go to the right and get more legalistic and fall
into a ditch. Amen? So you got two sides of
the road. We just need to stay on the right road. But the problem
is this here, that the devil gets her to doubt what God really
said. And so she starts now saying,
I can't even touch it. Think about that. I can't even
touch it. Now, think of what she just said. To me, like forever,
for all these years and years, I never really thought of it
that much. And as you think of things in the word of God, God
gives you more understanding. And I want you to think about
it. She's saying, yeah, God said I can't eat it. I can't even
touch it. Think about that. She's now upset
with God. That's what she's saying. God
won't let me do something. Think about it. I'm not allowed
to do something. Now, I don't think there's anything
in the Garden of Eden that God said you couldn't touch. I don't
think there's anything. Freedom, joy, peace, love. Just don't eat that thing. It's
not good for you. Don't eat that thing. It's poison. You know
what I mean? So, okay, yeah, but you can touch
it. You know there's a lot of plants out there. You know Christmas
plants with them little red balls on it? You can't eat those little
balls. But they're pretty. You can stick
them in a vase and put them around in decorations. You know what
I mean? Like, they can bring you like, hey, this is pretty.
You can't eat them though. But she is now telling the devil
that she's not happy with God. That God is a meanie. That God
isn't, you know what I mean? It's like, oh, so he's got her
in the palm of his hand. So you have to think about that.
Apply yourself to this. Because first of all, what did
God say that you couldn't do? Or what didn't God say that you
have freedom? Can I get an amen? Didn't God
say that you have liberty? Can I get an amen? Did he or
did he not? Do you have liberty? Can you do whatever you want
to do? Yeah, you can. You absolutely can. Now, there's
laws. If you break them, you're going
to jail. I mean, but with God, God says you're free. You can
do whatever you want, just like David. He says, but There's a
but. If you do this, it's not gonna
work out for you. If you do this, it's not gonna
work. But you can do it. You can go smoke crack. You can go
rob 7-Eleven. You can go curse God. You can
do whatever, you know what I mean? There's nothing stopping you
from doing it. So having this liberty and freedom is pretty
good, but it does come with limitations. But the problem is how you think
of those limitations. I think of God telling me I can't,
I shouldn't smoke, and I shouldn't drink, and I shouldn't gamble,
and I shouldn't, I look at that as thank you, Lord, because I
would be doing it. Because I'm not that bright. You know what
I mean? Thank you Lord for, I need a father. I need someone who
cares about me. I need someone that I know that
I can trust. You know what I mean? Like to telling me that that's
not good for you. That's going to mess up your
marriage. You shouldn't be watching those things. That's going to
hurt your children. You shouldn't be cursing. You shouldn't be,
you know what I mean? Like, but other people look at it and say,
I'm not even allowed to. You see what I'm getting at?
You see the spirit in that? So I want you to see that. I
don't know if you got that or not, but to me it's simple. And
she says, you shall not touch it. And the serpent said in verse
four, unto the woman, you shall not surely die. Now immediately,
immediately, he just tells her what the Bible says is not true.
Immediately says what the Bible says is not really true. It's not fully true. It's not
exactly going to happen that way. And I'm here to tell you,
oh, it's going to happen that way. I'm here to tell you this
fully 100% true. See, when I hear about, when
I read things, I'll tell you what, you got to get into this
book, man, you got to get into it. It'll change your life. It'll
change your direction. It'll change your attitude. It'll
change your mind. It'll change everything in your life. It really
will. You know why? Because you'll start to actually believe they
know that it is the word of God. And God said it, and it's gonna
happen. Let me ask you just a simple
question, off the cuff. Matthew 25. Right? Matthew 25, verses one down,
talks about the 10 virgins. Jesus said, this is what it's
gonna be like. He said, there's 10 virgins. Five were wise and
five were foolish. The five that were wise brought
oil in their lamps. And the five that were foolish
didn't. And they all went out to wait for the Lord, to wait
for their Lord to come. And they all slept and they saw
him, but then there came a cry. It's time, he's coming. And all
of a sudden, the five that were wise took their lamps, lit them
up, and said, I'm ready. And then the other five went,
oh, well, we're not ready. Give me something to get ready.
And they said, no, go get it yourself. And they went to go
get ready. And then it was too late. He
came, took the five that were wise, and off to the rapture
happened. And the other five come back,
and they're left behind. Now, do you really believe that's
going to happen, that half the church is going to be left behind?
Do you really believe it? No, I mean it. Really believe
it. then why would you play around and be unwise like that and act
like you don't believe it? See, because the Bible gives
me, I'm totally off script, but I can't help it, it's inside
of me. The Bible tells us all the time, it says, when the Lord
comes back, if he finds people rioting, partying, this and that,
you know what he says? He says, I'm gonna send them
to the tormentors. You know what else he said? Some are gonna be whipped
with a few stripes and some are gonna be whipped with a lot of
stripes. What's he talking about? He's talking about being left
behind. You're going to be left behind. And that's going to be
really, really hard. And you're just going to have
to just probably give your life. You know what I mean? What I'm
saying is these things are true. And what about heaven? What about
hell? So everybody thinks that I believe
in Jesus. I said a prayer, so I'm fine.
People act that way. You live that way. In all reality,
I mean, sir, let's be serious. You say you believe, but where's
the real evidence of it? Like, where's the real Jesus
Christ is my king and my God, and I serve him. Like, where
is that? And my point to that is there's a spirit that is trying
to get you not to believe this book, that everything in it is
really going to happen. And that's exactly what happens
in this book in Genesis. Keep reading with me. I'm going
to hurry up and catch up. It says in verse five, the devil
says, for God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then
your eyes shall be opened and you shall be as God's, knowing
good and evil. And when the woman saw that the
fruit tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the
eyes, a tree to be desired and to make one wise, she took of
it, of the fruit thereof and she did eat it. And she gave
also to her husband with her, and he did eat. And the eyes
of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked.
And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. I
just want to talk to you quickly about the serpent, because that's
what we talked about last week, remember, about the serpent?
And this week, I want to continue that, because this is the big
thing. You have God in the beginning, God, and then chapter 3, you
have now the serpent's really subtle. So we have to talk more
about the devil because he's real. Because he is real, and
he hates you, and he wants to hurt God, and he can't hurt God,
so he hurts his kids. God has a plan for you. God has
a great plan for you, and the devil wants to destroy that.
There's so many things I could talk about, but let's start in
Isaiah 27. Isaiah 27. Isaiah 27, are you there? Isaiah 27, I should have given
you, Isaiah 27 verse 1. It says, in that day, the Lord
with his sword and great and strong sword shall punish Labiathan. that piercing serpent, even Leviathan,
that crooked serpent, and he shall slay the dragon that is
in the sea. Now I want you to remember that
verse, you should highlight it, remember it so you can go back
to it, because that's exactly what this serpent is. First,
he's more subtle, First, he was a beast of the field. He was
not a serpent. He was not a snake as we know
it today. God cursed it and made it into a serpent. And so I don't
know this for sure, but I believe it in somewhat that Lucifer,
the devil, was gorgeous and absolutely beautiful. The Bible teaches
that. But now he's not. Now he's ugly. But he's still
an angel, and he's still an angel of light. But he's ugly, amen? And he's evil, just like a snake
and a serpent. So here we have the word Leviathan
coming into the picture, that dragon. And we went over it last
week in Revelation chapter 12. Can we turn there real quick?
Revelation chapter 12. Revelation 12 is one of my favorite
chapters. It has so much in it. But here, I just want you to
see in Revelation 12, 9, it says, and the great dragon was cast
out. That old serpent called the what? and Satan. What does he do? He deceives the whole world.
He deceived them in the very beginning. Now the serpent is
more subtle, but he's a deceiver. And he says he deceived the whole
world, and he was cast into the earth, and his angels were cast
out with him. Amen? Now if you look with me
in verse 3, and four it says now there appeared another wonder
in heaven and behold a great red dragon having seven heads
and ten horns and seven crowns upon his head and his tail drew
one-third of the stars in heaven that's angels and he cast them
to the earth And the dragon stood before the woman which was ready
to be delivered for to devour her child as soon as it was born. That's Jesus Christ being born
from Israel. Israel is the woman. Amen. Not
Mary, even though Mary's a woman. It's Israel because everything's
in a whole thing like that. And he tried to kill him. Remember
when Herod sent his army to kill every child two years old and
under? And he's been trying to kill him ever since. And he finally
thought that he won when he had him crucified on the cross. He
thought that he won. The Bible says that if the prince
of this world had known that Jesus Christ was going to die
and resurrect again. He would have never crucified
him. But he did crucify him. And he thought he won. But now
Jesus has power over death, over hell, over the grave. Amen? And
then he gives that power to all of us. Now you've got a bunch
of Christians running around. Well, just like out of Jesus
comes all these Christians running around, out of the devil comes
a bunch of snakes running around. Amen? That bunch of little devils
all over the place. Little devils everywhere. And
what I'm here to tell you right now, they're subtle like their
master. They're sneaky, they're subtle, they're sly. They're
not what the movies compared them to be. They slither in.
That's why they're called something. They slither into your lives.
So you got to realize how they're getting in. They're getting in
to make you doubt that the word of God says what it says and
means what it means. And because that's what faith
is. Faith is strong shield, believing that the word of God is the word
of God. And what it says, it means. And
when it says it, it's gonna happen. But the devil's gonna get you,
yeah, but not to me. Yeah, but I'm all right, because
I'm saved. So I'm all right. And that's
the biggest lie that the devil has out there. I'm all right.
I'll tell you right now, none of us are all right. Because
you could've been saved for, how long you been saved, Brother
Dave? That's a long time, 54 years. And you could, me, 32 years. And you could be saved for 32
years or 50 years and the whole time think you're all right,
and you're really not. You know what I mean? Like just
because you come to church, we're only all right if we line up
with God says. And God gives us plenty, plenty
to realize. And you know what Jesus said
in John 3, 3? He said, verily, verily, I say unto you, talking
to a priest, a religious man, except a man be born again, he
can't even see the kingdom. You got that, right? So that
born again is a real, actual thing. You must be, must be born
again. The first birth was physical,
second birth is spiritual. Who's your father? I don't want
to say it. Who's your daddy? I don't want to say that. Who's
your father? God. Do you act like him? Do you talk like him? Do you
love him? Do you serve Him? Do you worship Him? Is He your
Father now? Like, there's all these little aviances that we
just forget. Well, I'm saved. I'm alright.
I'll tell you right now, the fear of the Lord is one of the
greatest things in all the world. And it's one of the things the
devil doesn't want you to fear God. And if you ever hear anybody
say, the man upstairs, you know they're not saved. And they say,
yeah, the big man. You know, they're not saying.
Because you know what salvation shows me? It shows me one thing.
The Spirit of the living God comes inside of each person.
And that Spirit manifests Himself with one of two things. And we'll
look at that another time. The fear of the Lord. Because
He lets you know who He really is. Amen? One thing He really
is is holy. He's not putting up with this
junk that we put up with. He's not putting it up with it.
He's not putting up with it. He's not putting up with it.
His son died to take it away. Amen? So we have to be a little
more serious. And I'm sorry for going there.
Turn with me if you would, please. The serpent speaks, and he says,
hath God said? Did he really say that? Did he
really mean that? Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't finish
chapter 12. Chapter 12, in verse 10, it says, and I heard a loud
voice in heaven saying, now has come salvation and strength.
and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ. What
do you mean now? It's when the accuser of our brethren is cast
down, which accuses them before our God day and night. Do you
realize that we have an adversary? We have a devil. He's sly. He's slick. He's wise. And he
hates us. He doesn't want us to win. He
doesn't want the kingdom to come. Do you understand that? What
is stopping? Brian, put me on for a second.
Brian, put this on. What is stopping the Kingdom
of God from coming right now? Think about it. What's stopping
it? Nothing. No, there's a lot stopping it. Salvation. A lot is stopping
it. And the church just isn't ready.
If everyone that professes Jesus and creates came now, But half
of them would be doomed. You see what I'm saying? I don't
want that to be us. I don't want anyone in our churches,
especially in a Bible-believing church where you're actually
hearing about it, because most churches you don't even hear
about it. But the truth of the matter is, the Bible says God
knows who's His. You can't play games with God.
You don't fool around with God. Did God fool around on the cross
when He was dying for you? He didn't fool around one bit.
You think he's fooling around? He's not. So it says in heaven,
the devil is, the Bible tells us he's a liar and a deceiver.
He gets you to feel a certain way, think a certain way, and
do certain things. Then he goes to heaven and blames
you. He blames you to God. Then God is going to allow him,
allow him, access to your life. And then when he allows access
to your life, it's all test. And it's all test, like God knows
what's going on, but he's doing it, he's doing it because we've
got to be real. And if you really have Jesus
Christ inside of you, you'll never fall. No, you'll stumble. What does it say? A righteous
man falleth seven times, but he gets right back up. Amen?
You'll never fall, fall. You might fall and stumble, but
you'll never fall, because there's something inside of you. How
many people though, think about it, how many people have been
in this church, sitting in these pews for even years or two, right? And then for whatever reason,
they're gone. They're out of church. You know,
I don't get it. My heart is for the church. My
heart is for all of us. And I truly believe if the Lord
came back right now, half of our church sitting in our pews
on Sunday morning would be left behind. And I hope I'm wrong. Oh, I want to be wrong, but I'm
scared. I'm fearful." And that's what's stopping him, is that
the devil is accusing the brethren. And he's up there, and that's
why it says when he gets cast out, when the war in heaven,
and then it says, now has come salvation. Hallelujah. Now has
come honor and glory. Now they're all happy in heaven
because the devil's no longer there to get God's ear, to have
the authority to accuse the brethren, you know what I mean? And so
therefore now salvation is going to be completed. And your salvation
may have started, but you got to see it to the completion.
I want to go to heaven, and I want to see all the things it says,
Brother Bob. I want to see it. It says it.
I want to see it. I can't wait. And my faith is
getting stronger now that we're in the end times. And my faith
and my resolve to follow God and get away from this stinking,
no-good, rotten devil, because he's a liar. I'm a little off
the path. Turn with me, if you would, to
Matthew chapter 23. Matthew 23. You guys okay? Not mad at me,
are you? Alright, at least she's not,
amen. Matthew 23, look in verse 33
with me. He calls the religious crowd,
he says, you serpents. What verse? 33. You serpents,
you generation of vipers. How shall you escape the damnation
of hell? That's a great question, isn't
it? And these are the religious people. These are the people
that think they're good. These are the people that think
they're better than other people. And we look at them as we look down
on them, because we know the stories of them. But if you were
there right now, you would admire them. You would listen to them.
You would think they are the righteous, and they're the good,
and they're the priests, and they're the Pharisee. You know
what I mean? And Jesus said, you vipers. Why?
Because they're being influenced by the devil. And that's what
I just want all of us, please, to understand that at any time,
any of us can be influenced by the devil. And there's things
that God tells us how to overcome him. Look in Matthew chapter
3 real quick. Matthew 3, verse 7. John the Baptist, what a powerful
man of God. Jesus said he's the greatest
preacher that's ever lived. And it says, but when he saw
many of the Pharisees and the Sadducees come to his baptism,
he said unto them, O generation of vipers. You see the vipers,
generation? See, we read the verse last week.
It says that God is going to crush the head of Satan, but
all these little snakes are going to come out. And they won't be
as powerful as him and be like him, but they're still the devils,
little devils, little unclean spirits. And that's what it's
all about, a bunch of unclean spirits. Have you ever experienced
an unclean spirit? I have. I have. You don't know
it until maybe afterwards, and you go like, wow, that was really... Spirit that was got over me and
it's and it's not good. It's unclean But we can be cleansed
through the blood of Jesus. Amen I want you to to turn with
me James chapter 4 and then we're going to Ephesians 4 James 4
then Ephesians 4 James chapter 4 verse 7 Tells
us how that we can help ourselves from the subtle devil. In verse
six, it actually says, but he gives more grace. Wherefore,
he says, God resists the who? So how are you going to get out
from under the devil if you're prideful? You're not. You're not. Pride is what got the devil. You're one of his best friends.
You're the best person in the whole planet when you're prideful.
Ah, it's not going to happen to me. Oh, I'm all right. Are
you kidding me? See, that's the whole point is
he's subtle. He's not what you think he is.
He's subtle. Look what it says. It says he
gives more grace. Wherefore, he says God resists
the proud, but he gives grace. under the humble. See, if you
realize the devil's got you and you realize you're under a lie,
you come to submit yourself to the Lord and humble yourself
and say, God help me, I'm stuck. Look at what it says in verse
7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Please pay attention.
What's it say? Read it out loud. Ready? Resist
the devil. One more time, out loud everybody.
Resist the devil. And he'll flee, he'll run from
you. Resist him. So I'm here to tell you that
what Eve could have done is resisted him. Eve could have resisted
him. He just told her something that
she already had an attitude. And I'm being honest, she had
an attitude. She said, yeah, I'm not even going to touch it.
What kind of attitude is that? I'm not allowed to smoke. I'm
not allowed to go party. I'm not allowed to listen to
oldies. I'm not allowed to, you know what I mean? Like that's
baby stuff. And that's what people think, I'm not allowed to, my
church says, you know what I mean? It's like, so they'll go to another
church where they're allowed to do whatever they want and
they feel comfortable and that's cool. Let's have some rock music,
let's party, let's have a good time, this is great. See, the
devil's subtle. And then look what it says, it
says, draw nigh to God. and he will draw nigh to you.
But he tells us to do what? Cleanse your hands, you sinners,
and purify, what? Your hearts, you double-minded. It tells us that a double-minded
man is unstable in all his ways, and don't ever let him think
he'll get anything from God. So there's little things, or
you can go back, I don't have a lot of time, but turn with
me if you would, please, to Ephesians 4. Ephesians 4. And then from
Ephesians 4, we're going to Ephesians 6. Ephesians chapter 4, you there? Look in verse 27 with me. It
says, neither give place to the devil. This is a big power. Look,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 words. And it is so powerful. Six words. And what's it say? Neither give
place to the devil. What's that mean? What's it mean? At all. Give him nothing. No,
don't even listen to him. Give him nothing. He's yapping.
He's pecking at your heels. He's throwing fire. Don't even
pay no attention to him. Remember the old movie, Wizard
of Oz? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. You know,
like, just give him no place. Because once you give him a place,
oh God, help us. What's some of the places that
subtle devil gets you in? Doubt. Doubt. He gets you to
doubt. He gets you to have confusion.
That's what he is. He's the author of confusion. Confusion in what?
What God says. You know how many people that
I know that I believe are saved, but yet sometimes they say they
don't believe the Lord loves them. They just don't feel like
the Lord loves them. I'm like, how do you get there?
How do you know what Jesus did on the cross and then get all
the way down to where you don't think God loves you? Like they've
been listening to a big time lie, haven't they? You ever feel
that way though? You ever feel in love? Yeah, of course you
did. And that's not God, is it? That's the devil. So give the
devil what? No place. When you start to feel
all these feelings that bring you down, they're not from God,
are they? No, you give it no place, and that's something that's
hard. I'm not saying it's easy, but we have to do it. Look in
Ephesians 6, Ephesians 6 verse 11. He tells us that we need
to put on something. Amen? We need to put on the armor
of God. It says that you may be able
to stand against the what? The wiles. The wiles of the devil. He's subtle. He's wily. He's
not going to come at you and appear at you at the bottom of
your bed as a devil. No. It says when he does appear,
he's going to appear as an angel of light. Good things. It's going
to be good. It's alright to go and do this.
It's alright to be this way. It's alright to not have to... See, the problem is when I think
about I have to read my Bible every day, when I think about
I have to pray, there's always a little bit of a spirit or an
attitude in there going, oh, I have to read my Bible every
day. I have to, you know what I mean? Like, what? You get to
read your Bible. Oh, I got to go to church tonight.
Oh, I'm tired. You kidding me? You get to be
involved in the church. That's a whole nother story.
I'm running out of time. Look with me if you would, please,
at the first Peter chapter five. 1 Peter 5. God gives us plenty, plenty of
examples. And He gives us plenty of ammunition
on what to do. But it all starts in Genesis.
Now, that serpent's more subtle than anyone else. Amen? And it
tells us in 1 Peter 5, verse 8. It says, I'll get there in a
minute. It says, be sober. I'll just stop right there. Be
sober. Be sober. People don't want to be sober. I'm not talking about just alcohol.
I'm not talking about drugs and all that. I'm talking about sobering
your mind, sober thinking, clear thinking. Alcohol is just the
means of the devil. That's why it's called wine and
spirits. Are you kidding me? It's opening the door. to all
those fiery snakes. Are you kidding me? They're going
to destroy your life. And you're going to end up crying
and go, what happened? You know, that's why it says,
first thing, be sober, but you've got to be viligant. That's what
it tells us. It says, be viligant, be strong,
be watching, because your adversary, you have an adversary. Please
pay attention, because I'm done right after this verse. Our time's
up. The serpent is more subtle than anything else that you've
ever met. And we didn't even get to how
he appears, and we didn't even get to other things, and we're
going to get to that serpent, that old snake, that dragon,
and we're going to read how God created him, and how God uses
him. This is deep stuff coming up,
so I hope you can understand it, but since you're here at
10 o'clock, you probably will. Be sober, be vigilant, because
God's telling you, your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion,
walking about seeking whom he may devour. Oh my goodness, how
are we ever going to fight a lion? David did as a little boy. How
are you ever going to fight a lion? I ain't going to fight the devil.
Look what it says. Resist. Whom? Resist steadfast in the
what? The faith. Knowing that the same
afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in
the world. Everyone's going through all this kind of stuff. Everyone
that claims the name of Christ is under attack. Everyone. Everyone. We're all in the same boat. That's
why one another's there for one another. Call someone up. Say,
man, I need some, you know, prayer. Could you pray with me? Maybe
come over. Can we go do something? Because I'm under... Temptation's
got me. This has got me. And that's why we're all there
for one another. Because we know nobody's different. We're all the same.
Amen? And it says resist. So I'm out of time, but this
is one thing that I want you to learn. First of all, that
he's really sneaky, but what we have to do is resist him.
How do you resist? How do you resist somebody? How
do you resist somebody? How do you resist them? Ignore
them. Give them no place. As soon as that thought comes
in, get it out. No, I don't believe you. You're a liar. You're a
liar. Get out of here. I know who you
are. You're lying no good snake in
the grass. You're a liar. But we don't.
We're like, yeah, I'm a loser. Yeah, nobody loves me. You know
what I mean? Like, the devil's all, he's laughing. You're so easy. You know what
I mean? Ah, one drink won't matter. I
can still smoke and be okay. I can still gamble a little and
be okay. I can still, you know, watch a little bit of porn and
be okay. You know, it's like, people are
crazy. They think that they can get,
you have an adversary. And you know who he is. He's
sneaky. Can I get an amen? Amen. Let's
pray. Father, thank you for the word of God, which is the truth
of all things. May we have more faith in it.
May we be stronger by it and strengthened from it. Please
bless the service ahead. Thank you for those who are here
today. God, we love you. We praise you in Jesus' name.
Amen.
