Confidence in Our Calling and Confession

John the Baptist plays a pivotal role in God's unfolding plan of redemption. Identified by Jesus as "Elijah who is to come," he is described as being greater than "any born of women." John's confidence in his calling and message gave him the courage to speak "truth to power," even to the point of martyrdom.

But Jesus goes on to say that one who is "least in the Kingdom of Heaven" is greater than John! Given John's stature and courage that is an astounding claim. What are the implications of such a statement?
