Conquering in Christ

Numbers 13:1-14:38
"Conquering in Christ"
… the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.—Mt. 11:12

I. The Mission Given

o Spy out the land in order to conquer (13:1-16; Exo. 6:8)

o The parameters of the mission (13:17-24; Mt. 11:12)

II. The Mission Refused

o Unbelief, complaining, rebellion (13:28-14:12)

o Two reports (13:28-29; Psa. 10:4; 13:30; 14:6-9)

III. The Mission Accomplished (Mt. 4:1ff; Heb. 4:14-16)

let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.—Heb. 12:1b-2

The Christian=the one who conquers (Rev. 2:7,11,17,26; 3:5,12,21; 12:21; 21:7)

Jesus=The Conqueror (Rev. 5:5; 6:2; 17:14; Heb. 11:33; Rom. 8:31-38)
