Judgment on the Nations

Israel has always been surrounded by enemies. This chapter shows how all of the enemies of God will one day be put down. Five specific nations are listed here, nations who thought they were safe in their position, who were known for their wisdom, who trusted in fame, who trusted in their riches, who trusted in military strength and ingenuity...but none of them trusted in the Lord.

If you're going to glory or trust in anyone or anything, let it be in the Lord. Anything else you put your trust in is a false security.

Even in all this judgment, God shows grace! The grace of God gives hope and that hope comes through the Gospel.
