I Will Place Salvation

Isaiah wrote at a dark time in Judah's history. The northern kingdom, Israel, had fallen and been taken captive by the Assyrians. All the signs showed the fall of the southern kingdom, Judah, was at hand. Isaiah went beyond the fall to prophesy the redemption that would follow. The Persian King, Cyrus, about 150 years before his reign was prophesied to be the instrument of God. Cyrus was a type of Christ, the true Redeemer.
