Now that God will shout mmm Hallelujah
help us and God does anything else take care of that soon by
the way If there's anything whatsoever between you and I that we hinder
you from using my vessel this morning I pray God to forgive
me cleanse me wash me and yeah use me. What's your son's my
name? We pray Jesus Amen. Amen. How they may be seen rebelling
against impatience Remember, the word rebel means to resist
or rise against some authority or control. We've already gone
through Galatians 5 and verse 16 where the Bible tells us that
the flesh lusteth against what? Okay, we're gonna have to go
there then, alright? Y'all messed up, amen? That's five more minutes
on the message. But look at Galatians chapter
5 and look at verse 16. Look at what the Bible says here
in Galatians 5 and verse number 16. The Bible says this. The
Bible says, this I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall
not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Here we go. For the flesh lusteth
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. And these
are contrary, they are opposite, they are adversaries, the one
to the other. So that ye cannot do the things
that ye would. But If ye be led of the Spirit,
ye are not under the law. The Bible tells us clearly that
we have the flesh and the spirit that are in the battle. And what
we need to do, my dear friends, is rebel against our human nature. The human nature says this, if
one person pushes me, then I'm going to push him back. Somebody
slaps me, I'm going to slap them back. That's what the human nature
says. But when you are in trouble with
the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God says, no, no, no, no, don't
do that. And then there's a battle on the inside. In this case,
we're talking about rebelling against what? Impatience. If we're not careful, we'll get
in such a hurry that we'll miss the blessings of God. If we're
not careful, we'll get in such a hurry that we'll make some
mistakes that we would not normally make if we were not in such a
hurry. That word impatience means a
lack of patience. It means an eager desire for
relief or change. And sometimes because we are
in such a hurry to have change, we will become impatient and
we will try to force change. We'll try to make somebody do
something that we want them to do that they don't want to do. Because we won't wait on God. For example, you have a husband
and a wife. And let's say the husband won't
come to church. So what'll happen is, what'll
happen is the wife says, well, I'm gonna pray. I'm gonna pray.
God, bring him, bring him, bring him. But he's moving too slow. So that one day when he's not
looking, she gonna come by and give him a headlock, so you go
on the date! And out of impatience, she tries to drag him to the
house of God for worship. Now she might not do that physically,
but she might do that with words. If you don't, then there's gonna
be problems here. If you don't, this is what's
gonna happen. What'd you say, Jackie? Give
me some furniture moving. Amen. Some of y'all know what
that means. Amen. Upside the head. Bend it out.
Bend it out. Sometimes because we won't wait
on the Lord, we become impatient. Thank you. And then we'll move
too swiftly. Because we are wanting change.
Let's move change. But we need to make sure that
we're getting change. And the change takes place during
God's timing. That word impatience also means
intolerance of anything that delays or hinders. In other words,
if something seems to be slowing up my progress, that will begin
to irritate me, that will begin to bother me. If I'm not careful,
I'll begin to react in a way that's not helpful, but in a
way that is hurtful. That word, this is a big word,
man, the word impatience. The synonyms are agitation, anger,
annoyance, thick temper, shortness. Because it ain't happening quick
enough. I mean, how many times have you been here in northwest
Indiana trying to get someplace, and all of a sudden, here comes
what? A train. A train. That's almost a cuss
word. Especially when you're in a hurry. And you'll be riding down the
road and be like, oh! Oh! Then your mind starts to
compute real quickly. Is there another way I can get
around this particular train? And if you're in one of those areas
where there ain't no other way. And then, oh! Oh! Oh! Don't let it
stop. Woo! I mean, you're looking for
the conductor. I mean, if you had a pistol,
you'd say, pal, make your move now. Come on, let's move that
thing out the way. We get impatient, you know, and
then we'll react to that. We get angry, we get annoyed.
If we're not careful, that will carry over to other activities
throughout the day. This word, impatience, also means,
like I said, shortness, quick temper. But the antonym, the
opposite, is this. Control, ease, endurance, patience
is another cuss word. Wait team. Oh, well, you got
to wait. And you want to go to the doctor's
office and you, you, you really, they boss. Cause you paying them
to take care of you. But you signed your name an hour
later, Mr. Chappelle. Yeah. Okay. We just
want to make sure you was here. That means another half an hour,
45 minutes. And you're sitting out there
watching the stories which you don't like. You can't turn the TV because
it says, don't change the channel. I mean, all this kind of stuff.
And then by the time you get back there, man, yeah, you are.
You're blood pressure's up. Sure. I mean, you've been out
there waiting all this time. So now it's risen. And man, you're
all, and it takes all this high. Yeah, it's high. Are you amazed
by that? You should have took it when
I first came in. Then it would have been right by the level it needs to
be at. But we have to ask God to help us to wait. Because if
not, we'll make bad decisions. Look again, back in Proverbs.
The Bible says this, and he that hasteneth with his feet sinneth. This word, hasteneth, means to
hurry or to press. In this case, he's pressing or
in a hurry with his feet. That word, feet, means his foot,
but it also means step. He's moving too quickly. Now watch this. What does the
next part of the verse say? What does it say, brother? Hasteneth
with his feet, sinneth. Sinneth. Now that's an interesting
word. Do you know in that word, the
primary meaning of that particular word in that verse is the word
miss? I said, wow. The person that's
in a hurry oftentimes will miss. He will miss, she will miss her
blessing because they're in such a hurry. They will miss out on
perhaps joy instead of joy. They'll have misery because they're
in a hurry. All of a sudden, this is where
it heals. But for most females, when they
start reaching a certain age, you start getting past that 25
mark. And you ain't got no husband
and kids. You're like, whoa. You're a biological clock. All
of a sudden, like, well, I need a man. I need to get married. If you ain't careful, the first
one to come by will have a job. Come on, come on. Come on down
here. Let's get married. Then all of
a sudden, my dear friends, there was something that God had for
you a whole lot better. But because we're in such a hurry,
we jump. The one person would say, will
you? I do, I do. I got a ring already. Here you
go. You ain't got a bottle ring. Here you go. If we're not careful, getting
in such a hurry. And some of us can testify that
because we were in a hurry, we made some bad mistakes. We missed
some things, and there's some things we didn't miss, which
we should have missed if we hadn't made that decision to move too
quickly. How many of us have bought a vehicle too quick? Yeah, I did that too. We bought
us in 1989, we had just gotten us a brand new Nissan Sentra,
and we had just gotten that, and we had another vehicle, and
it was doing the job fine, but we were like, well this is going
to look, don't go down this look. They gonna put you in handcuffs
until you sign the paper. But nonetheless though. I mean,
we went down bang. They had the Suzuki sidekick.
It was a brand new 89. It had the, what was it, the
roll top roof that went back. It was blue and white pretty
and all that. It was a stick, was it a stick too? It was a
stick shifter and drove in lights. I don't know if she liked it.
Move. Anyhow, all that stuff. We walked in there and the price
wasn't right. We tried to leave. That man walked out. We took
off running. He calls us in the parking lot. Wait a minute. It
came within, what, $12 of what we was wanting? We went in church
at the time. It was only, what, it was about
two months before we got in church. I wish we had gotten in church first.
But anyhow, we bought that vehicle. And it was one of the biggest
mistakes we made. Now we had two brand new vehicles
that had pavements. And we were both working two
jobs apiece. They were supposed to be just
to help out. But they weren't helping out no more. Now they
were necessity. It was a need, not just helping anymore. And
I tell you what, man, it all messed up. It got so bad. But
one day, I came out to go to work. I walk out in the parking
lot. I'm like, oh, somebody stole our vehicle. Because it was dumb. Hello. But the repo man had came
by and had took our Jeep. I'm like, oh my goodness. I mean,
we was only behind two payments. We had just made a payment. So
technically, we was behind one now. And they want a whole lot
of money to get it back. Oh, I was sick. What'd you do? We didn't get it back. We ain't
got no money. I ain't know none of y'all. I
ain't know none of y'all back then. If I knew none of y'all back
then, I mean, when I had the money. But man, that was a bad mistake,
but we had to pay for it, because you know what they did? They
took it down and auctioned it off. It was, what, a few hundred
dollars? We had to pay the rest of that money. And we were paying,
man. We were paying, paying, paying.
It was crazy madness. Why? Impatience. We didn't need
that vehicle at that time. We had one that was running fine.
It just wasn't new. That was it. You know, but, and
I know, you know how it is. And I'm big time. Back then,
I'm big time. Maybe I'll help you. I picked
the other part. I got it. And then that little part came,
I'm like, whoa, you can work a little extra overtime, don't
you? Bad decisions because of not being patient. Look what
the Bible says about this word, patience. Look again with me
to Proverbs 21 and verse number 5, where we talk about rebelling
against impatience. We want to do the opposite of
impatience by being patient. Look what the Bible says in Proverbs
21 and verse 5. The Bible says this, the thoughts
of the diligent tend only to plainness. That word thoughts
means plans or intentions. Diligent means determination.
The Bible says the person that plans is determined. will lead to plentiness. That
means gain. But of everyone that is hasty
only to want. That means deficiency. That means
lacking. In other words, hasty means in
a hurry. The person that's in a hurry will wind up being still
in need. Because when you're in a hurry,
you ain't planning. Planning what? You're on the move. It's
taking too long. So I'm going to have to act.
And when we do that, friends, we will still wind up being deficient. Let me give you another one.
Look at Ecclesiastes chapter 5. And this one's going to sting
a tiny bit. But look at Ephesians. We got
some salve. Look at Ecclesiastes chapter
5 and look at verse number 1. Now some of us have been in this
area. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes
chapter 5 verse 1, the Bible says, keep thy foot When thou
goest to the house of God, that means watch your step. And be
more ready to what? To hear. Than to give the sacrifice
or the offerings of fools, for they consider not that they do
evil. And here's our verse. Be not rash or hasty or speedy
with what? Thy mouth. Don't be so quick
to speak. And let not thine heart be hasty or be in a hurry to
utter anything, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, before God. For God is in heaven, and thou
upon the earth. Therefore, let thy words be few. Now, where we going here? Well,
I don't know, preacher, but it don't sound good. Verse 3. Well, let's just skip ahead.
Look at verse 4. When thou vowest a vow unto God, that means you
make a promise to God. Defer not to pay it. That means
don't procrastinate, don't delay. For he hath no pleasure in fools,
pay that which thou hast vowed. Better it is that thou shouldst
not vow, that thou shouldst vow and not pay. Suffer not by mouth,
but call by flesh to sin, and neither... Don't say this either
to the angel, that it was an error. I didn't mean to say that. It's a mistake. Wherefore should
God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
For in the multitude of dreams and many words, there are also
diverse vanities, but fear thou God." What are you talking about?
You know how we get sometimes when we want something from God.
Oh God! Oh, if you do this, God, oh,
this is what I'm going to do. And we're in a hurry to say what
we're going to do. Then God says, OK. He does his
part. He's like, oh! I said, Lord,
I go to church every service this year. If you just take care
of this, I'll go Sunday morning. I'll go Sunday night. I'll go
midweek. I'll do it for the whole year. And then, Lord. You know, I was just, I got all
caught up. You know, it was a mistake. Then what God said, okay, was
a mistake. So what I gave you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you that you did your part. So we
got to think about what we're saying before we say it. But
sometimes we get in such a hurry. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Wait
a minute, now do you know? Yeah, but I'll take it. Right
now, Brett and Stephanie, they're getting ready to buy a house.
They're looking for a house. They know how much they're approved
for. And they've looked at how many houses y'all looked at?
103. Now, the average person, they've
been like, I'm approving this much? Praise the Lord. We can
go out Tuesday and get us a house. There's two of them. Well, that
was all right. Here, we're going to get this one. Slow down. Be
patient. Slow down. Number one, let's
pray. I'm sorry, Shorter, my kids.
But they would ask me something. Daddy, can I? I said, well, let's
pray. I mean, pray about it. They would rather me say, let
me think about it first. Yeah. Because thinking about it, it
might seem to go more their way than if I prayed about it. I
said, let me pray about it. Well, man, man. And that's how
we are sometimes. We have to pray. The dog paying
$31, $35 an hour, and you ain't got no job. I said, let's pray.
He said, well, preacher, we ain't really got to pray about that,
dude. I mean, all we need is God to come by and just sign
off. We'll take the bitch and ask him. Yeah, but I mean, $35
an hour? Now, I mean, for some guys, that's
still peanuts. But for us little folks, I mean, hey, $35 an hour.
We ain't got to pray about that. Now, that $7.50 job, well, we
ain't got to pray about that. I don't know. But we be so quick to move, we
ain't careful. But being quick to move and quick
to speak, We're not careful leaders in the trouble, but we have to
rebel against that impatience Though the Bible says in Psalm
27 and verse 14 Psalm 27 look at verse 14 we come out to the
homestretch look at Psalm 27 in verse number 14 the Bible
says this this is a good verse and we We've heard it enough. We don't hadn't read it. You
heard of it. The Bible says in Psalm 27 verse 14 wait. Oh wait Wait on the Lord The
church he's just hurt my heart wait. I say on the Lord Hey,
wait, what time you coming? Good night, you know, I mean,
it's been a long time. I've been waiting a long time.
I'm waiting on my blessing God Give me my blessings and just
wait be patient But I mean, I'm ready. I'm ready. If you don't
come on my take somebody else. I mean, I mean to say that Lord
He doesn't wait on him Let me give you two examples. We're
gonna be done The first moment you do is look with me over the
Exodus also folks who got impatient and because they got impatient
They got trouble Look at look at any time with an exit. You
know, you're going to Israel look at look at him look at Exodus
chapter 32 in verse 1 the Bible says this the Bible says in Exodus
chapter 32 verse 1 and when the people saw that Moses delayed
I remember this is what Moses had went in the mountain and
Moses been gone a long time and Where Moses at? The Bible says
right here, the Bible says here, here, the lazy come down out
of the mount. The people gathered themselves
together unto Aaron and said to him, hey, hey, hey, up, make
us gods, which shall go before us, for as it is Moses, the man
that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we want or know
not when it will come of him. We don't know when it will happen.
He probably dead. He been gone for how many days?
How many I remember? 40 days! Over a month! He's probably dead. So we want
you to make us some gods. They're impatient. The Bible
says, and Aaron said to them, hey, break off the golden earrings,
which are the ears of your wives, of your sons, of your daughters,
and bring them unto me. And the Bible will speak the
story up. They brought him all the gold and all this kind of
stuff. Then the Bible says in verse number four, he received
them that are at hand, fastened with a graven tool, and he made
it a molten calf. And they said, these are the
gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
So in other words, they give him all the gold, and what he
does is he makes a golden calf, And they said, now this is our
God that brought us out. I said, y'all crazy. That did not bring
you out nowhere. You just made him. We got a lot
of man-made gods. And then what happens? Let's
pick the story up. Then what happens is this. Moses is talking
with God. God says, you better go down
there. Before why they might look Bob says in verse 7 and
Lord send the Moses get go get me down for my people which thou
broughtest out of the land of Egypt have Corrupted themselves
they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded
them that made them a molten calf and worshiped it and have
sacrificed therein to and said thee the God of Israel which
I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt You better hurt
get down there. They didn't lost it Moses goes
down there. You know you know the story you
got to take commandments and He sees them like, what is this?
He goes ballistic? He breaks the commandments? Then
the Bible says this in verse number 20, And you took the calf
which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it
to powder, and strewed it upon the water, and look what he did.
Moses was a bad dude. The Bible says, and made the
children of Israel to do what? To drink it. He took that calf,
busted it up, ground it up, and made a drink and said, y'all
drink this. Here, drink your God up. And then he says this,
the Bible says in the next verse, he looks to Aaron and says, what
did these people do to me that I brought so great a sin upon
them? What you think about Aaron? And then, this is, this is crazy.
And Aaron said, let not the anger of my Lord wax hot. Don't be
mad at me. God knows the people, that they are set on mischief.
You know them, they come up, they messed up. For they said
unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us. For as for
this Moses, the man that rose up out of the land of Egypt,
we would not wish to become him. And I said, hey, whoever has
any gold, let them break it off. So he gave it to me, and you
know what I did, Moses? I cast it to the fire, and there came
out this calf. Don't that sound like some of
our children's stories they tell us? I took it. I said, y'all give me all gold.
And I took it and I threw it in there in the fire. And all
of a sudden, and all of a sudden, here come this cow jumped out. It just jumped out. Come on,
man. But we had slain way a lot of
times. God, I don't know what happened. It just happened. You
know, I don't know what happened. I mean, I was, I just didn't
know what was going on. Oh, really? And make it a little,
why am I supposed to say this, shorter. Then what happens is
a lot of folks get killed. They lose their lives because
they were impatient and would not wait for Moses to come down
off the mountain with the words from God. Folks, when you and
I get impatient, we'll get into trouble. Well, let me show you
one more story of a person that started off impatient, but then
he ended up being patient. And guess what happened? He got
the victory. The Bible says over here quickly 2nd Kings chapter
5 and verse 9 2nd Kings chapter 5 verse 9. We'll speed this story
up, too Here's that you can read this story later when we get
to the house. Here's a man that has leprosy He has this leprosy
and then he hears from some other sources that this maid knows
of a prophet in Israel that can take care of that situation.
There's a God down there that can take care of the problem
that he has. He goes to the prophet's house and he wants them to come
and touch him and heal him Now look what the Bible says in verse
number 9. So Naaman came with his horses
and with his chariot and stood at the door of Elisha. And Elisha
sent a message unto him, saying, Go, and wash in the Jordan seven
times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt
be clean. But Naaman was washed. Yeah, he was kicked off. He was
wrong. That means he was bursting in
rage. And the Bible says he went away. He got so upset, the man
said, listen, go down to the Jordan and dip yourself seven
times and you'll be clean. And he said, wait a minute, wait
a minute. He said in verse 11, behold, I thought that's the
problem. So now we think it should turn
out this way. We think it ought to come out
this way. The Bible says, I thought, this is what I thought, I thought
he would surely come out to me and stand and call on my name,
the Lord is God, and strike his hand over the place and recover
the leper. I thought he would have came
out there and seen me. He walked up to me and said,
touch my spine. Whoa, God. Get away And he says go dip That'd be like you coming up
here Y'all pray I Got it. It'll be like miss miss Esperanza.
So y'all pray for me. I got three blockages Okay, y'all
just pray for me, you know that I'll be healed and then I'll
take care of us I don't have a little bit of surgery I mean,
that would be wonderful, wouldn't it not be? But now, we pray and
say, okay, now I need to go to the doctor tomorrow. Get checked
out. She goes to the doctor tomorrow
and says, well, we need to go ahead and do this procedure. Well, I thought the
whole church came and laid hands on me and then I'll be healed
and then we ain't got to have no surgery. That's what I thought.
Do you know what, friends? God heals in all kinds of ways. He has given us doctors and nurses. He has given them that ability
to be able to help us in all types of areas of our life. So,
hey, we go to the doctor. Yes, if God choose, God could
simply, like back then, God could, He could've gone over there and
touched him and he'd just been healed. But He said, no, I want
you to go and do something simple. Simple? We want this whole ceiling
to open up like this. We want a beam of light to strike,
come down out of the sky. We want to hit the ground, and
all this just illuminates. And all of us are going, ooh,
look at God. That's what we like to see, stuff
like that. You know? Hey, if I told y'all, I'd say,
you know what, guys? I was here at the church last night. And
when I was up at the podium, I happened to look down at the
podium, and I saw a cross. And I looked at the cross, I'm
like, It was there. I ain't being mean
nobody. I'm trying to tell you the truth.
And I'm not trying to be. But growing up, I'm trying to be. How many times have you
been, you know, like, like, like, like in the restroom, for example,
and just, you know, take care of things and just look around
and you say, I look like a bird. Man, I might be the only one.
I mean, I'm weird. Y'all remember I got the Hulk chasing me in
my dream, so. I look like a bird. I look like a bird. I could be like, man, man, this
is a miracle. How many times have you been
riding down the road? Look at that, look at that, y'all.
Don't I look like a horse? You think I'd like to be like,
you know be twisted. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I see it. It's
really like a horse And we would like to say it's miracle God
does miracles he does But also folks he does things in simple
ways, too For example Let's say you had a big bill had to be
paid. I'm talking about humongous $2,500 And then your boss comes and
tells you, girl, we've been owing you a raise. And we're two years
behind. So we're going to cut your check,
but make up the difference. Here you go. You come and tell
us, oh, God did a miracle. He sent me a check. And somebody's
like, that ain't no miracle. They owed you that money two years
ago. Well, that's a miracle. Because they could have said,
oh, we owe her another. I'm not telling you nothing.
We'll give you a raise today. But God does think He'll use all
kinds of things, my dear friends, to help us. In this case, He
says, man, go down there and dip seven times. Hey, let me
tell you something. Verse 12. Are not a banner and
powerful rivers of Damascus better than all the rivers of Israel?
Not by washing them and being clean. He turned and went away
in a ray. I'm leaving out of here. He's impatient. I want
Him to come by and just simply touch me. When you're aware of
this, touch me. He says, go over there and do
this. Let's pretend like that's the
river. He wants me to go over there, jump in that river, and
dip. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Am I even swimming yet, y'all?
Seven. Why'd y'all do all that? Why don't you just combine the
same? You're here, buddy. That's gonna take you. That's
gonna take too long. And he leaves upset. And now
watch this. The Bible says this. The Bible
says number 13. Thank God for folks who intervened.
And the servants came near and speculated with him and said,
my father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing,
would thou not have done it? How much rather then would he
said to thee, wash and be clean? And his mighty father said, listen,
I wash every day. I ain't going down to that Jordan
River, that ain't no clean river, that ain't no good river, and
dip in that old nasty thing seven times. Listen, if he told you
something big, you did it. Just be patient and go and do
it seven times. For example, somebody said, listen,
stop going to church. Stop reading your Bible. And
he said, OK, I'm starting tonight. I'm going to start reading my
Bible. You read tonight? You read tomorrow? You read the
next day? He's like, it hasn't happened
yet. What's taking so long? I started
reading it. I've been reading it a week. And guess what? Things have gotten back better.
They've gotten worse. I've been going to church for
a month and a half. I ain't doing that. That's taking too long. Impatient. But the Bible says,
my dear friends, the Bible says right here, they said, man, if
he'd asked you something big, you would have did it. So guess what
happened? He changed his mind. Verse 14. Then he went down and
dipped himself. He plunged seven times. Enjoying according to the saying
of the man of God listen Whatever God says do let's just do it
and Trust not trust me, but trust him He gonna come through It
might not be as quick as you want to be but it'll be right
on schedule So he gets down there. I can imagine cuz he already
got issues. He gets down there he goes Mama
King Dip. One. He might have seen himself.
Maybe look at him and watch him go. Dip it in that water. One.
Two. Is anything starting to change? Three. Four, he probably old too, he
get tired doing that a while. Five, can you imagine on six
or five to say, you know what, I ain't doing this no more. There
ain't nothing happening, I'm looking stupid, you know. Here
I am, got my Bible, I'm going to church. And I got a big old
foreclosure notice on my window. They say, how about going to
church? It don't change anything. What does God do for you? If God is God,
why don't you just come down here and just swoop through and
do it? He could. But why are you trusting him?
It's amazing how patience builds character. Everybody want to be, all these
teenagers, they get ready to go into college and different
stuff. All they want to have, what type of results you want
to have? You're going to wait 20 years before you have a big
old house, a brand new car and all. You don't want to wait 20
years, do you? You'd like to have that tomorrow.
Where your mom at? She want that tomorrow. You want to help her out tomorrow?
Yeah, that means no. But everybody wants results right
now. But God says, be patient. But
impatience, our nature says, no, no, no. Listen, you can put
a meal, you can have a meal done in what, four minutes? In the
microwave. Ms. Sue, how long did it usually
take y'all to cook a meal? Yeah, my kids growing up. Yeah. An
hour? Can you imagine? Mom, we got
anything to eat in an hour? An hour? Why is it taking so long? We
want it right now. That's why we go to fast food
places. And my goodness, don't take a minute and a half. What's
wrong with this place? I paid right here. I figured I'd get
to the window and have my food. I'd be eating. What's wrong with
them? We live in a society that we're
all in such a hurry, my dear friends, that we're not careful.
We don't miss. You have to go against your nature.
Rebel against your nature for not being impatient. But that's
where it takes the power of the Holy Spirit But he dips he dips
and he dips then the Bible says and gets up guess what happens
the Bible says in verse 14 His flesh came again like into the
flesh of a little child and he was clean Because he took the
time out to go and dip We need to take the time out to read
the Word of God and We have to take the time out to pray. I
ain't talking about this kind of praying. Lord, thank you for the food by the
sea. Amen! Done! Hallelujah! Let's eat! Somebody get ready
to start praying for real. Say, Lord, we want to thank you
for this food. Lord, people prepared this. People worked hard to get
this stuff. You gave us the money to buy it. And somebody goes,
oh, Lord. Don't have to go pray no more.
We don't have to go through the formality. We ain't like, you
know, it's a ritual. What are we in a hurry for? Eat!
When we leave here, I'm telling you what, right now, I guarantee
you, there's somebody's car that's parked facing this way. They
took the time out, the time out now, to go this way and to back
all the way up and all this stuff. They could have pulled right
in. When the bell rings, and by the
way, y'all over time already, when the bell rings and it says,
bump! And some folks, some folks have
missed relatives getting saved because they didn't have to hurt
to get out of this place. You didn't have to hurt, you have
missed a blessing. Because of impatience. Impatience. Here, we're done, we're done.
Go to Proverbs 19, we're done. Proverbs 19, verse 2. Rebelling
against impatience. How many of y'all put stuff on
their way anymore? One, two, three, four, five. We got five people out of 100
people that pissed up on the railway. Most of us got that. We're sitting on a credit card.
I mean, it's a debit card. You can't put it on a credit card. But most
of us got that visa. Know what that means? Get down and pay later. It was on sale for $35. But I
put on credit. Guess how much I'm going to pay
for it? $105. You're my dad right now! I can't
wait! I can't wait! Look what the Bible says, I gotta
read it. Look what the Bible says. I remember the first time
I put two jackets on the lairway, I was a teenager, and I thought
it was an eternity. And I tell you what, when I got
them out, it was like it was so quick, I had two brand new jackets.
And I put them on the lairway, I paid $5 here, $10 here, before
long, it was done! I was like, wow! I put them on my microwave,
a microwave back in the 80's, a microwave! I'm talking about
real, you know, they were big. You put a whole body in there.
I mean, I kept one of them things, man, that I spent was about $200
and something dollars, $300 and something dollars. No more than
that, that was a big one, about $500 and something dollars. But
I had it on the land way, and I was so happy. But now, like,
man, I've lost some money. I don't need that. Look, look,
look, look, look, look, look. Where we at, guys? Proverbs 19,
verse 2. See what the Bible says here. The latter part, he that
hasteneth with his feet sinneth. He is going to miss because he's
in a hurry. I got two questions and a statement.
The first question is this, what has you impatient? What has you
impatient? Is it your health? Is it your
finances? Is it your relationship? What
has you impatient? It's like, what is taking so
long? I want this to get done now.
Secondly is this. Are you in danger of missing
the blessing because of impatience? Are you in danger of missing
that blessing because of impatience? There might be a car that's for
you, but this would be the car that you won't have to do a whole
lot of work on. But if you ain't careful, you'll buy a car, it
looks good, it's like, I can get it right now. And you'll be fixing
that thing every other week because of impatience. And my last statement
is this. Let's practice Psalm 27, verse
14, which is, wait on the Lord. Be of good courage. Again, I
say, wait upon the Lord. Are we going to wait on Him?
So preaching is hard, I know. But this is what's so awesome.
You got the Holy Spirit that lives only inside of you. And
the Holy Spirit will give you the strength to be patient. Say,
God, help me to be patient and help me not to be impatient.
Help me to rebel against my nature that says, go now. So wait a
minute, I got to take the time. You did something you shouldn't
have done. And by the way, I want you to
forgive me right now. And you say, I forgive you, but
you know, I'm going to still keep you right there. That Bible
wants to be like it was before. You know, we were hanging out
and we were, we were, you know, we were dogs. We were this, we were that. We
got some stuff happening. It's going to take some time.
Do you know when somebody loses confidence in you? You'd like
to have back that, that, you know, right that moment, but
that's going to take some time to rebuild. Yeah, but my goodness,
it's been seven weeks. You know, it's going to take
some time. It takes some time. Father, thank you for your wonderful
blessings. Father, you laid this message upon my heart to give
out to the precious souls that are here. And Father, I don't know who
this is for. I know it's for me. You sure did help me earlier. I pray
and ask God to help all of us, Lord, to be more patient in every
area of our life. Every area. Whether it's with
our spouse, whether it's with our children, whether it's with
our finances, whether it's with the church, or whether it's with
other things in our life, our health, whatever. God, help us
be more patient and not impatient. Help us, Lord, not to move too
quick, not to be in such a haste. Then if we're not careful, we're
going to actually miss what you've got for us. Lord, I pray God
should help each of us in that particular area. Thank God perhaps
there's somebody here this morning saying, you know what? I want
to have more patience. But I must confess, first of
all, that I don't have a Holy Spirit living inside of me because
I don't know Christ as my Savior. I pray God they come forward
this morning and receive Christ, not just in their head, but in
their heart. I pray God they come. Be born
again, blood-bought. We'll show the world exactly what to do.
And for that part, we'll definitely thank you. God help somebody
this morning. I have no doubt in my mind, somebody
needs your help. Please Lord, we beg in the name of Jesus.
Hey God, if there's anything else you have need of, help us
there. And then God, perhaps someone wants to pray about something
else. I've not mentioned it, wasn't even in the message. There's
some other area they need some help or some direction. I pray
God they come talk to you about it. Please, we love you. This
is your son, let me pray, Jesus. Amen. Amen. Let's all stand.
