Genesis 2:18-25 - The Powerful Image and Institution of Marriage

This passage makes plain for us that:

• Marriage itself is a good thing. It was instituted by God before the Fall of Mankind into sin.

• Woman was created for man.

• Our wicked society and the enemy of our souls desperately want to redefine, reshape, eliminate, and destroy marriage in general and marriages in particular because (1) biblical marriage is the foundation of society, and (2) biblical marriage is a picture of the very gospel, of the covenant relationship between Christ and the Church.
