Joseph's New Clothing

Aim: To don, live, and display the righteousness of Christ.

The wonderful ways of God with His children: He suddenly surprises us with great joy, and He sets us on a course of fruitfulness.

Exegesis: The blessings of being in Christ: our standing is now royal (vv. 42-44); our years get redeemed (v. 46); our hopes are encouraged (vv. 50-52); our lives are profitable (v. 57).

Further application: How to retain salvation's benefits: be ruthless against all sin, and be enamored with Christ.

Key verse: v. 42 ''Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph's hand; and he clothed him in garment of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.''
