Please read 1 Timothy 2, verse
8 to 11. Starting with verse 8 to 11.
It says, Pablo, finally, if all of us in the same way, compassionate,
loving, fatherly, meritorious, friendly, not returning bad for
bad, sorry, In 1 Timothy chapter 2, verse
8, it says, I want men to pray everywhere, raising up holy hands,
without anger or contentment. Likewise, that women should be
tied up well, in rags, by modesty and modesty, not with During the time that Israel was
divided into two kingdoms, There were certain kings in the southern part of
Judah who were people who loved God and wanted to bring reformation. One of those men was the man
Hosea. Hosea.
So he sent someone to count how much money there was
in the temple to build the temple. But he didn't know that the way
he was The temple was being corrupted. The temple was nothing compared
to the way the temple was being corrupted. The
country, the spiritual level of the country And so we've been engaged in this for a long
time. Now, the people trying to serve
the Lord God's message, he was so far and shattered by what
he said that he almost froze to death. And he said, and I'm
going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to
cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm
going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to cry, I'm going to
cry. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. We have to see if the church
of the modern day, seeing that they have seen so
many things that have run because the authority of the word of
God is little by little being changed by the feeling of our
culture that has no principles. and continues to reject the moral. We see in the church that we
are rejecting the authority of God, certain commandments that
God has given us that they say no longer apply certain commandments
to our place. like homosexuals, who can become
members of a church, even as pastors. When men are married
to men and women to women in church, it is not difficult to
understand that we have Bibles everywhere, but they are not
paying attention to the word of the Lord in the evangelical world. As you know, we live in
a time when the gender has become relative. That has not happened
suddenly, brothers. They say you don't have to be
a man if you don't want to, you don't have to be a girl if you
don't want to. We live in a time where
gender has become relative. You can even lose your job if
you If you don't agree with what
the culture says, that a man can be a woman and a woman can
be a man. We are entering a time where
they no longer want God in our culture. We even have a culture
that kills unborn children. We are in a foundation that denies
the existence of God, claiming that we have the evolution of
a chemical. Even the pagans of the past years
said that there were gods, that they were pagan gods, but at
least they believed in God.
predicando este sermón esta mañana, porque Pablo tells us what to
do in a church. Pablo says how one should conduct oneself,
how life should be in a church. This kind of text has lost all
value in many churches today. For example, let me go back to
1 Peter. 1 Peter chapter 3. Imagine if the two candidates
of the Republicans and Democrats, and one of them says, let me read
1 Timothy chapter 3. Imagine if the whole country
heard these words, and you tell me, tell me if we have not lost
sight of God in our country. First Peter, chapter 3. It talks
about husbands and wives. If I ever got into politics,
this sermon would be used against me. Asimismo, esposas, sometanse
But let's look at the text. In First Timothy, we talk more
about the responsibilities of men and women. What place do
men and women have in the Church? What we are going to say here
to men is very important. Let's look here at Manos. In verse 8, he says... What he says here... goes with what he already
said in verse 1 to 7. Remember that he says, pray for
all kinds of people, for those who are in the wilderness. and not only for those who are
of low class. For all people. Because Christ has died for all. Look at what Paul says here. In verse 8. He says, I
want to... Well, let's stop there for a
moment. He is referring to what he has
already said, already spoken. He says, I want to... He is connecting what he is going
to say with what he has already said. And he has done his part
because we have to pray for all kinds of people. Remember, we
pray for our leaders, for our government, so that we can work
together. We don't have to be afraid of the government. But
it is in this light Que el dice, quiero pues que
hombres I don't want you to think that
he is limiting this necessarily to men. I don't want you to think that
only men pray in groups in the church. He is putting emphasis on men
in this text. We have to maintain that emphasis. Hombres, hermanos, necesitamos
siempre orar juntos. Quizás aquí en nuestra iglesia
podemos hacer algo para que los hombres in this church so that
we can all pray together as men. Here it's not necessarily, you
see, here it's not the place. But it's talking about the attitude,
the heart. Look here, where it says, raising
the hands of heaven with purity of heart, without anger or contention. Here also, Paul is mentioning Problems with the heart. When it says to raise hands, it's not bad. It's something cultural, that
the Jews prayed with their hands, raising their hands. It wasn't
anything that wasn't common. But the emphasis in this text
is talking about the heart.
So brothers, it would be very
appropriate that everything you are praying according to this
inclinarse, hincarse, pararse. Sometimes it's appropriate to
be prostrated to the Lord, extending your hands to the Lord, maybe
even in a public place. No, no, I know it's difficult
in our context because when we see this kind of thing, we see
it and we think it's charismatic, but it's really not bad at all.
No dejen mujeres, hermanas, no
dejen que eso las desanime. Yo creo que es bueno que las
mujeres vengan a orar, pero hay a special emphasis for men, that
men pray with men. We talk with the deacons and
with Wesley in our prayer time. There are not many men who are
men who work. What I want to say is that there
are no men who have families, who have children, who are there.
Many times they are men who are already retired. Brothers, yes.
Some can't because of their work or anything else. Look, this is really the house.
You can't. You can't talk. Maybe there will be time where
you can pray in other ways, like in a group. I think that if you
can pray, and if you can be here, brother, even if it's not every
week, even if it's once in a while, if you can be here, you should
be here. Brothers, this is one of the
priorities of what Apostle Paul says here. He says, praying for
all people. Let men pray. Everywhere. Brothers, if you
can be here, It would be good. I know that
some of you who work or are tired, but if you can come, even if
you come a little late, it would be good. Well, let's continue.
Let's look at the portion from 9 to 11. When you are preaching, remember
that when you talk about women, you always have to give a little
introduction so that we don't get into a problem, but we stay
in what the text says. For the sisters, I want to tell
you something. Look at verse 9.
Pablo menciona otras cosas. He says to the men, I want all
men to pray. And he continues talking. And then in the verse he says,
as for the women, I want them to dress modestly. And he begins
to talk about how the woman should dress for the church, how they
should be. So the implication here is that But I think what the Apostle
Paul is doing here when he talks about women, he is mentioning
without complaining, as he says, then he begins to talk
He wants, the apostle, he wants
the women to come inside.
Our culture... and our feelings should not define
what is correct, good, or the best, but we have to focus on
what the Lord likes, what pleases the Lord. Remember, we do not
live in a culture that is not Christian, we have to see the
culture and our emotions. Maybe our culture doesn't like
what the word of God says. Maybe our feelings don't like
what the word of God says. When we read the first passage
of Peter chapter 3, and when he speaks there, verses 3 and 4, he speaks
from the outside, we have to say Amen, to agree with what
Peter says in that passage. The Apostle Paul shares the same
Holy Spirit that Peter has, and they both agree with what Paul
mentions here. He is in the context of the Church,
and Peter is in the context of marriage. But they both understand
that they are mainly talking about an attitude of the heart. He said, without gold, without pearls,
without expensive dresses, that it is adorned more well with
good works as it corresponds to the women who profess to serve
the Lord. That the woman must learn with
serenity with all her mission. That part in verse 11, we will
talk more about that next week. We see that God designed the
woman differently. God has designed the woman differently,
in a way of glorifying himself. para ser seguro.
What kind of attitude is Pedro
looking for and what is Pablo looking for? The important thing is that you have to have a good attitude
with all your mission. What our culture says, the outside
is the important thing. When I went to school, we had
to wear branded shoes. If we didn't wear branded shoes,
people would laugh at us. The culture is the other way
around, but brothers, it's what's inside that matters. That doesn't
mean that women shouldn't dress well. Of course, a woman should look
beautiful and dress up. But the main thing is not to
attract attention to herself. Especially when going to church. When Christ should be the emphasis. A sister should not say, look
at me. like drawing a lot of attention,
taking away our view of Christ and towards her. I'm not saying that people should
dress like 200 years ago, sisters. I'm not saying there's anything
wrong with that, but that's not what I'm saying. There's modern
clothing that's appropriate in our culture. then in verse 9 the emphasis
then when we see there that he is talking
about pearls and dresses etc. the importance is not the details
there what the apostle Paul is saying I know that everything is different
between culture and culture. The purpose of your clothing
should not be something that draws a lot of attention.
The idea is not to call attention
to your body or clothing. Never. It's always towards Christ. Brothers, ask yourself, Es lo
que tiene puesta. No estoy hablando de hoy en día,
pero generalmente hablando. Su vestimenta llama mucho la
atención. Es muy caro para que todos vean. Trae mucha bulla. Es algo que
llama mucho la atención y no a Cristo. Cuando se unen a alabar
al Señor. your jewelry or your makeup looks
like a disco ball that people want to see you. Or is it something calmer, more
modest, more simple? I'm not saying that makeup is
bad, sister, but it's what Es lo que, aunque el primer punto
In verse 10, if you see, we only saw the expression, but
let's look at the attitude here. In verse 10, it says, that they
should be ordained rather with good works. That they should
be ordained rather with good works. Cultures. This saying is for
all cultures. It says that they should be ordained
with good works. Sister, her clothes, when she dresses, goes with what Your desire to serve and love
the Lord is what guides you in how to dress yourself in the glory of God. That is
what motivates you. I'm not telling you what brand
to buy and not to buy, but when you go to buy, what moves you
to buy and not to buy? Are you more worried about your
physical appearance? that with her disposition of
her heart towards God, who is she trying to impress more? I'm not saying that they don't
dress well, I'm not saying that they don't get ready, I'm not
saying that they get up from bed and go to church, sisters,
but what is it that moves her? It's the definition of God. How is it that the way you dress
reveals what God wants to do? Your clothing speaks calmly,
modestly. It looks consistent with your profession
of faith. That's why he says here in the
text, In verse 10, it says that we
should adorn ourselves with good works as corresponds to women
who profess to serve the Lord, God. So, our works should help us
to reveal our hearts, but beyond revealing Christ. Why do we do what we do, brothers
and sisters? What is the reason? Yes, Christ
also wants dominion over that throne as well, the throne of
Heaven. Last point, verse 11. So, after the wedding, Paul goes
to the conduct of the sisters in the church. Look at verse
Vamos a mencionar
That is against our American
culture. Look, our culture is having difficulty in trying to
understand anything. Our culture doesn't even know
how to defend the gender. I didn't choose the motel room Brothers and sisters, I did not
choose this book to talk about this topic, but it is the word
of God. Next week we will put one more
in the text.
When we see in the Gospel that
Christ raised the women in a way that he had never done in the
past. He revealed himself to the women
many times. Sometimes they had more understanding,
or he revealed himself more to the women than to his own disciples. So it's not about value, equality,
brothers and sisters. So what we're going to talk about
next week has absolutely nothing to do with value. If a value
of a gender has more value than another, a sex has more value
than the other, no. Second, remember this sister, you have to recognize
that what you dress, you have, pay attention please, you have
the ability, just because of what you wear, Quizás usted ni sepan, usted
se puede volver un ídolo. Algunos de uno de los, quizás
para los hermanos en este iglesia. Usted tiene la capacidad, hermanos,
a ser un ídolo. Algunos de los hombres en este
iglesia.
Remember that God wants Christ
to be mainly for you. You can sometimes intervene in
that relationship with your appearance, especially with men. That can
be something difficult for some of our brothers in the church.
Please be careful with tight things, with things that attract
a lot of attention, things that are revealed a lot in the way
you dress. And sisters, I know that... I know that there isn't
a lot of clothing that you can go to a lot of places that doesn't... I know that clothing that isn't
appropriate is all over the stores. I know that it's difficult to
find more appropriate clothing.
atención a tus buenas obras.
The women wanted the positions
of the men that God has given them. The understanding
of that text, that according to our sinful nature, the woman
was not going to want to have this attitude that the Apostle
Paul is talking about, but they were wanting to have more attention. con el cuerpo bello que el Señor
de su intimate things, but it is not
appropriate to the context of the church. God has given you
something beautiful, but it has to be enjoyed by your spouses,
so that they enjoy it. Lastly, in the fourth point,
brothers and sisters who are single, look at the blessing of finding
la respete, How many times, brothers, not
necessarily in the context of our church, but some say they
have a boyfriend who abuses her. But the vast majority, when
they find that, they say, where did you find that man? Or in
a bar or in a club. So that's why. Esas son las clases
de personas que atraes. Entonces vas a atraer perversos
Nosotros ayudamos Dios a entender
Has redimido la cultura. Please, Father, help us men,
who are men who pray, who raise our hands, and help the sisters,
please, in their clothing, that they dress in a way that is submissive.
We thank you, Father, for everything you have done in the name of
Christ. Amen.
