Biblical Eldership In The New Testament church

48

We are studying The Doctrine of The Church, specifically Church Polity meaning Church Governance.

Today we are introducing the idea of Biblical Eldership, which i have been studying a lot about recently as we are seeking to institute Biblical Eldership in our church.
Follow along with me as I am teaching our congregation about the place and purpose of Biblically called Elders.

‎The foundation of the church is Christ, He is the Chief Cornerstone.
‎Then you see the Apostles, and next the Prophets of the Old testament.
‎All of whom were given to lead in the foundation of the church.
‎All of these men, had been given a role and function of leadership.
‎All of these men were specially called to this task and had to meet certain specific qualifications to be approved to that task.
‎We will look at those qualifications next week.

‎Alexander Strauch said in his book "Biblical Eldership"
‎Quote It is not enough merely to have a eldership; the eldership must be actively functioning, competent, and spiritually alive.
