Genesis 35:1-15 - The Persistent Call of God

Sometimes the material in a passage of Scripture lends itself less to a children's Sunday School story than at other times. These are often the passages that help us to see the historicity and veracity of the Bible.

Even the death of a previously unidentified woman, Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, can teach us how much God wants to communicate through His Word.

When God reveals Himself to us, we must respond to that revelation with obedience and especially purity. But one of the blessings of the persistent call of God is that it comes to--He comes to us--even after our worst failings. This is the essence of the gospel message, and the same gospel that saves is the very gospel that sanctifies us as well.
