Divine Punishment of Human Sin

In Isaiah 5 and 6 we have a clear explanation of why divine punishment must be
brought to bear against human sin. Because God is absolutely HOLY and because sin
is such an affront to Divine purity, judgement must befall us. In our fallen state, we do
not like to hear of such judgment, and so we will cling to any excuse to try and avoid
this punishment. However, Lord's Day 4 teaches us that:

1. God's punishment is just.

2. God's punishment is certain.

3. God's punishment is fearful.
